For those who want to learn more: starting at 22:38, on the left, where the large field is, used to be The Eastern Station (Istočni kolodvor, as opposed to existing Zapadni kolodvor (Western), which is in this video). Built in the late 1920's, the Eastern was built as a main station for Zagreb for coal and wood deliveries. It started to lose its significance when marshalling yard, called Ranžirni kolodvor, was built in the late 1980's south outside Zagreb. I was lucky to be able to visit Istočni in the 80's when I lived a few hundred meters south of the station. I was a kid and it seemed lively and impressive. The lay of the tracks is still visible in the field.

Wow such big changes to the rail system in Croatia over the last eight years, I took this same trip back in 2014 from Zagreb to Krsko Slovenia and it was slow and rough ride but now I
can see there's been a major upgrades and modernization to the railway system, it looks great with new station platforms and railbed upgrade along with all the new railway cars and engines.
Also the roads and highways along this route all look so different now it looks like Croatia economic outlook is very bright even with the last couple years been affected by Covid. I love Croatia.

@@richardlong3745 Unfortunately, the changes are rather small and limited. Even those important ones on the main European corridors are progressing so slowly, and the local transit is slowly decaying. This route is the part of the Corridor X (ten). There are major changes on the route Vb (5b) from Zagreb to Hungarian border, with some great infrastructure, and one dissapointing major point: the upgrade will allow for only 160km/h (100 mph) max speeds.

It will get better with all EU funding and projects starting and in progress. But unfortunately it will (on whole network) first get worse as the tempo of contracting, building and especially finishing the projects is (still) too slow.

22:22 that is a shame... Tracks like that in the center of the capital. A speed restriction of just 50 km/h makes it take forever to cross it too. I think that bridge is more grass than track. Wonder when the last time was they did even the slightest of maintenance on that bridge, it could really use a replacement.

@@covalus1973 I'm going to explain but not 100% accurate in English when speaking of railway terminology.
When passing a signal the engineer needs to press a button to make the "auto-stop" system know that the signal was seen. You must do that on every signal except on a steady green light. Red signal means "STOP" and can be passed only in exceptional circumstances. If a train was to pass a red signal the emergency brake kicks in immediately. In the video there was a signal "steady yellow" which means "proceed with caution and expect the next signal to be red". Passing the signal you have 4 seconds to press the button or else the emergency brake kicks in.
There is a speed restriction too. Since pressing the button you need to lower your speed below 90km/h in a time zone of 20 seconds. If you don't do it, emergency brake kicks in again.
Finally the railway station "Sesvete" has a speed limit of 35km/h (reduced speed due to track maintenance) and it is protected by a balise (you can see the yellow box in the video on the right side of the right rail). You must again press the button for acknowledgement and the speed must be below 65km/h or else the brake go full emergency.
I hope I was clear enough.
      Greetings from Croatia! :)
