As a mother, I’m so disturbed and angry right now. Should we home school our kids because these schools have turned into torture camps. You’re right parents need to withdraw their kids until someone address this issue. This school needs to be shut down either they confirm or they don’t until further notice. The day my school went for excursion and we returned 1am midnight, I was happy that for the first time I’d sleep in a hostel. Not until the principal showed up and asked for who bears my name that my daddy is outside! 1am! Midnight! Jesus! When will this wickedness stop? Thank God this doesn't happen to me, myself and my husband withdraw our first son from boarding school when we went for just visiting day and discovered he has been sick for almost a week and they didn't think it necessary to inform us.
My son spent 2 terms there and i regret it so much, my son change drastically. I'm happy he's change now it's been 3 years we withdraw him, it was difficult at first when he returned home because he's always irritated, he beat his siblings and hid somethings from me.
But i thank God because he has build trust again, my real son finally return to me. Trust me the bad in boarding school are more than the good. My son had two guardian " that we service often" still my son was like broom before we remove him from there, i pray the Lord console the family of this boy. Amen
Thank you ma! That is what a good parent should do! I withdrew my Junior brother from a FGGC boarding school , when bullying, hunger and sickness all the time; ( became unbearable) and sent him to a private day school , even though my aged parent could NOT afford it !
Same happened to my younger brother who became extremely violent after just two terms at FGC odogbolu. Principal turned a blind eye to the bullying right in front of her. My brother was peeing blood. When I and my mum got home. I held my dads leg and told him I will not eat until my brother is brought home.

The thing is that most of our schools in Nigeria don’t really care about the students. Imagine a boarding school where u will be paying 500k for ur child. But the school students don’t have access to clean water, electricity etc.

I remember when I was in a boarding school then, the hostel mistress didn't even do up too this, when my mom stormed the school that day she raised hell and immediatelywithdrew me from there. Parents of nowadays need to do more, teach your children respect, love, don't leave them for the nannies/ helps to train, it's your responsibility as a parent. Also, listen to your children, many parents are too busy with work and trying to make money that they don't have time for their kids. It's just 😥😔

This is crazy, i had same experience, my son almost died in school bf i was called. The child couldn't talk nor walked the moment i arrived. 5days lying on the bed without eating, bathing nor attending any class. All the principal keeps say is let him pecivia, until the friend beg a phone and called me over. I arrived and saw a skeleton vomiting not my son. Then 4days under serious medical care, he said mummy if u love me never take me back there. The senior student will take away my life. Hmmm

There needs to be an autopsy. The police need to interview teachers and students. Who is the local MP for this area? The PTA should be up in arms and parents should be withdrawing their children from that school. This is outrageous!

With all these similar stories coming out of boarding school, I wonder how many children are suffering there, the unknown cases, the ones who hasn't spoken about it to their parents yet, the ones the parents are silenced secretly, the ones that are dying 😭😭 oh God. Better to see your child home every day after school than once in a while, and by the time you find out they're sick, it's too late 😭😭 Those involved will never go unpunished as long as there's God in heaven.
I attended boarding school during my form 2 and form 3. Let me just say it, boarding school is not a good place. I had been Be_witced since I entered the school. Whenever I'm in the boarding school compound, I will face serious health issues, but when I went home for treatment, I will be fine before treatment. I will see shadows and hearing strange things. And I told my father that I don't want to be in the boarding school again.
To crown it all, boarding school is just like a secret society, you can't tell everything that happens to your parents.

I remember in my boarding school. A girl was caned to a point of breaking her and and leg and the school blamed a matron Instead saying that it was her fault that the girl was doing housework ,she went for lessons late and slid down the stairs but all of us knew very well she was horribly beaten by a teacher
I was beaten paralyzed by a jealous female teacher who hated children with long hair just because I did the wrong hairstyle even though I told I was not in school on Friday. But I love my dad. He almost killed the woman when he followed me back after treatment.

5years in boarding school I can tell that your analysis are so accurate my dear but I think they kept tjose records. At times like this we should not wait for karma it takes longer time. Just here in Botswana a very peaceful country a young school boy was killed by others with screw driver they claimed he fell on the drain but after pilice tortured those who were suspected they revealed it is true they stubbed him. I know here they might face capital punishment depending on the degree of his death. Here we go eye for an eye if evidence is so clear

Sadly when we are paying enormous dollars for our children education one.will never expect such tragedies to occur. The family should request and autopsy report which will detail exactly what occurred . As for instituonal bureaucracy this happens when parents are not using the weapon of persistence.. Parent involvement is crucial to demanding protection and justice for there children.
With all the happening any parents that sent their kids to boarding school should bear full responsibility of whatever that happened to them... Send your kids to day school in abroad nothing like boarding school say no to boarding school.
