I have this set, absolutely love it. The feel of the books and the size, also perfect for gifting.
I just bought this set, I love it so much
Needs ribbon bookmarks, as in the Alan Lee illustrated box set. Otherwise, a lovely collection. Thanks for sharing.
My parents ordered this on Amazon last Wednesday the 14th. This and a few other things are going to be my presents.
Don't tell my parents that I know.
I have this also and I love it!
I wish these came in just a little bit bigger format. Mass Market Paperback would be ideal.
Yeah these are far too small. I have a nice hardback set of the 3 LotR books in the original Tolkein Covers.
That music really blew it !!!
How tiny is the print? Do you know the font size? What is the paper quality like? What is the binding like?
Binding is really good and overall quality is excellent . Books are easy to read without any frustrations. The Hobbit text is based on the 1995 Harper Collins edition.
The Lord of the Rings text is however not the 50th anniversary edition. It does not include the introductory text from that edition and it still has some of the mistakes which have since been corrected .
@Negan it is really long story . You can find multiple articles about that and they can explain better than me.
i cant belive they are readable
They are , did not have any frustration while reading
You should try. Believe me, you don't know what you miss.
Are these abridged versions? Thanks for a great showing of them!
No , full texts . They even added some illustrations and maps .
No! They are the abridged full versions. The hobbit texts is from the original publishing as well as the Lord of the rings. I have the 1995 version and pausing through the book flipping of the hobbit shows proof since I had the book at the time. (My dog ate it.)
