I’ve had the Chrysalis Tarot for years, and it actually did take me a bit before I decided to read the larger book, and once I did- it is still in my top 10. Then again, I lost a ton of decks when Hurricane Sandy hit in 2012, and half of which I can’t replace bc so many are OOP. But I was glad to get this one and many of the others that are mass market, however the ones I had originally some were first edition first print. I was just about to start a CZcams channel just reviewing decks when Hurricane Sandy hit. So I lost a lot. Still haven’t replaced many oracle decks (yes romance angels is one I haven’t been able to replace yet) So I truly appreciate your channel! Thank you

I have a not fully Bangtan but kpop tarot deck a friend made me for Christmas one year and it's one of the most fun decks in my collection. The thought and care she put into the deck even not knowing anything about tarot just makes it so special to me.
My older teen and I were just driving and talking the other day about which k-pop idols and/or which groups we would associate with each Tarot card. I would love to hear which card YOU would associate with BTS! I’ll tell you what I was thinking after that if you want to play this game haha. If not, no worries! I really appreciate this video. The way you described the Sasuraibito was really lovely. 💗
Such a lovely list of decks .. - I agree that the Sassyburito is a vulnerability deck. - I also feel the same about the Spacious tarot. I never thought I’d connect to it this way. I finished working with it and never wanted to put it down. I think I am going to use it a lot in my wound healing journey because it’s full of safe spaces. It truly was a warm hug to me. - I didn’t work much with the Child if Litha .. I am working with Oriens tarot currently. I don’t remember my thought process ordering that deck and I surely wasn’t in my comfortable self because I miss placed it .. I kept it in the weirdest place away from my collection box. I got shocked when I saw it which called me to learn it. I never disrespected a deck before and I feel I did with Oriens tarot. - Every time you talk about Chrysalis tarot, I recognize that I did the same to it. For some reason, I don’t even recall seeing the cards. It does feel special and different. I am adding it to my wishlist so I can look at it later next year. - the BTS deck is so funny and playful! I think that was a fun project to work on for the creator. - your Star spinner tarot feels like how I feel about the Cosmic Slumber tarot. This deck is taking me on a journey that I didn’t know I am taking. I got it mainly because the art style resembles that of anime I watched growing up in the 90s but then when I took it out .. it was deeper than I thought. It’s my only Sterling ethos deck and it’s a journey. It’s literally a new experience with tarot to me too. I don’t even understand but it speaks to me a lot and I never met such a talkative deck. I don’t know why I didn’t like the Star Spinner tarot once I saw it but it’s lovely. - Hello, Oriens tarot! I hear you! ❤️. It’s not my usual choice too but I love it! I don’t know much about the animals but I love working with it. It’s mostly the animals energy connected to it .. also, this deck is gorgeous and I had no idea there is a mini version of it - I love the next world tarot .. it’s so gorgeous and it’s my reason to not get the everyday enchantment tarot though it feels they are sister decks and they’d work amazing together. However, the next world tarot is so special. I got it as soon as it was released back in the days .. and I wish we’ll get a mini version because I don’t use it enough due to its size. However, I can see myself pulling a card to reflect on from this deck. For me .. the list is short : - The fountain tarot - Spacious tarot I didn’t work with many decks this year mostly because I was easing in my practice after being away for a few years.
My favorite decks of the year have been The Crow Tarot and the Spiritsong Tarot. I've had the crow tarot since 2019, but it REALLY became a work horse deck for me this year. Lots of shadow work with it helped deepen my connection to it. The Spiritsong I got earlier this month and it just reads like a dream and works so well with my intuition. And it just feels like a big hug. I can tell moving into the new year that I'm going to use it a ton.
Great selections for the year. I’m not a BTS fan, but I can see on your face how much joy that deck has brought to you. It so great that there’s fans who take the time to make lovely thoughtful projects like this.
I definitely agree with your assessment if the Children of Litha. Such a lovely deck. I don't mind the black edition card stock but it does take a lot of getting used to so I can see where it would be a barrier to enjoyment.
I am in genuine pain that I cannot have that Bangtan tarot. Drawing cards and BTS are the reasons I survived this pandemic with my sanity intact and that is not hyperbole.
I also love the Orien's Tarot (got the mini version and the newest large version) Obsessed! My other personal fave is the OOP Mythic Tarot! Thanks for sharing your 2021 faves and I hope you have a great year and I always look forward to your videos! 💗🌠
I'm the same with the sassribito. I keep hearing how everyone loves it so much but I'm not a fan of the art. I feel I might learn to love it too but I keep holding off. I think I'll buy it for myself for Valentine's day 🤣❤️🤣
When I first got into tarot I watched your videos and I saw how much you loved the Gil tarot. I purchased about three years ago and wasn't ready for it so I set it aside. I just recently pulled it out and I'm loving it. Merry Christmas 🎄
I feel the same way about the Next World Tarot. It is such a comforting, heart warming deck for me. Which was not at all what I initially had expected from the deck.
Thank you Katey!!! I love to watch and listen to you with the decks and your interpretations !! I frequently get inspired to revisit the decks you sort of guided me to acquire! Or to acquire in the first place. You definitely inspire me and motivate me to see things differently. I loved and longed for The Sauce..for so long.. and have had a difficult time connecting to it. I don't know why. I even had the crazy good fortune of having two of them arrive at the same time. Anastasia was kind enough to let me gift the second to my Mother. I get maybe a few of the cards.. maybe a quarter of the deck but when I watch you go through them and discuss them.. you make me want to get them out again! I was just going through them last night! LOL.. And here we go again I want to get them out and wait for that barrier to magically melt. I don't know what I'm perhaps blocking from myself? The one image that made me bite the bullet and buy the deck .. like totally cinched it for me.. was the image of the woman bending over and cutting off her hair. My Mom actually did that move. I had to try to fix it. I've wanted to.. who hasn't? But it made me totally sold. If that cards speaks to me so strongly why don't I get the Devil? He looks like any other schwarmy lounge lizard whose mildly attractive that you might wanna smack at any given moment. Maybe that's all there is to get? LOL.. Woops I need to be twittered here. The Orions deck reminded me a lot of the Children of Deck that you love so much. Same artist and author? Now I feel I have to have the other decks you mentioned. I got the Sasuraibito years ago bc I watched a video where you talked about it. It was one of my firsts and I still love it too! And you’re right about it being a Feeling deck. The Fool in it is probably my fave Fool card in all the decks I own. What’s your fave card in the Sassy 🌯?
My favourite card in this deck (and I have many) is the Lovers card. It reminds me to not become co-dependent and lose my sense of self in my relationships. The two intertwining figures are so intermeshed that it is hard to identify who is who. Mind you, finding unity in opposites/duality is also a great message with this card and one I read when I see the Lovers. This one reminds me that unity does not come at the cost of losing yourself but by integrating aspects of yourself that you have lost, had stolen, and so on.
I found The Spacious Tarot through one of your videos and really appreciated your vlog using it! I now have my own copy and it is my highlight of 2021! I also picked up the new Rockpool edition if Ambi Sun's Oriens Tarot. One as a gift which I had to get replaced because it had publishing quality issues (cards were damaged). But I absolutely love the imagery, the connections and the guidebook!
Love the decks you shared. Very beautiful artwork in all. I'm gonna get the forhaxa tarot soon, but will open it only in July, on my birthday. I was also interested in the journey of the sacred bee, even though I didn't buy it, mainly because I'm not buying anymore tarot decks as for now. Light Seer is my go to, though not a 2021 deck.

I like that you mentioned the Next World Tarot... just last night, I had opened it and was looking through it on my couch, not reading it but rather, taking in the emotions, the details, the meanings it conveys through the artwork. I can't recall the name but there was also an antique-y looking oracle deck that I think you worked with this year, with symbols from the RWS, and I might try to find that too! I do love Next World, not sure if I've used it this year! I got the Rockpool edition of Oriens recently, absolutely love it! Star Spinner remains a favourite. I am so so keen to get Children of Litha but can't justify the shipping price on my very limited budget. I've not done a whole lot of tarot this year, I'll have to think what my favourites have been.
As someone new that just jumped on the Sasuraibito Tarot and got it, literally, 2 days ago... I can really understand what you say about the deck itself, hahaha. It came with another 2 decks but Sasuraibito likes to get attention at random times of the day for me, hahaha. It is for sure a deck that feels like it wants to help you on a daily basis and has some special energy to it, lol.
@@162sam It is made by an independent artist! The artist and creator sells it not a huge company. Sometimes independent artists have a limit in the creation of their decks meanwhile tarot decks that are being produced in huge companies are being made more faster and probably will never run out of decks for years. I hope I gave an insight!

ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS VIDEO! Actually, because of your video I ran over and bought the children of litha deck as well as a bunch of her art prints. They are stunning + I can’t wait to give them as gifts and hang them on my walls + use the deck. I am curious if you’ve ever worked with the FORHAXA TAROT before? It’s a Seattle based artist and I just bought her deck. It’s lovely and whimsical and elemental based. I’d love to see you work with it for a month and do one of those videos where you work with it multiple times. The cardstock is kind of slippery which I don’t love, but I like the art + messages.
Thanks Katey. I always enjoy hearing what you have to say about the tarot and your favourite decks especially. I have put Next World Tarot into my cart but sadly it is unavailable for now. Hopefully, the order can be filled as after seeing it and hearing what you have to say, I am keen to have it in my hands. It has surprised me as I have not given it any attention up to now. The Spacious Tarot has also been on my radar for a while, but I keep hesitating as I have so many wonderful decks still barely used. The Orien’s Animal Tarot is waiting for me in my letter box for when I return home. I feel drawn to work with the animal kingdom this year. Last year, I unconsciously kept grounding myself by kicking my shoes off whenever I could and focusing on my breathing. It surprised me too, as normally I am mentally very scattered and unfocused so to drop into my body and breathe was a very calming and new experience for me. For now, my favourite tarot deck, and the one I have with me all the time, is Shadowscapes. I edged mine with violet and then used silver sparkle nail polish to add some bling. That was a nerve-wracking experience as I did not want the nail varnish to dry quickly and stick the cards together. There was a bit of bleed onto the back but it is barely noticeable and now the edges feel harder and less prone to chipping. Of course, I adore Stephanie Law’s artwork which is magical. This deck takes me back to my childhood and into the fantasy fae world of my imagination. I love it! Also, Barbara Moore’s writing is evocative and pulls me into the cards in a visceral way. I think it could be a great deck for path-working. All the best for 2022. I don’t know about you, but I have started the year feeling very optimistic and confident. That is very different to how I felt 12 months ago.
Hello! Thank you for sharing. I have the Oriens Tarot mini indie and I too think it is a beautiful deck. I was very lucky to get my hands on it since I missed the larger indie deck. I ordered the mass market version recently and returned it due to cardstock, so I was disappointed. Next World Tarot: In your opinion what types of readings are best suited for this deck? I have the pocket size and while I love the powerful and diverse imagery, I haven't connected with it yet and I really want to. Thank you!

I finally decided on The Sasuraibito .... But why are they so expensive????? Any advice from you guys would be appreciated. I really want The Sasurabito Tarot Deck, but the prices I've seen them selling for is unbelievable!
It’s an independent deck and independent decks are often more expensive - that’s just how production costs work. You can always try getting a secondhand copy, but indie decks often retail their value reasonably well, so you probably won’t get it much cheaper. Your other option is to pick a mass market deck instead, which are usually much more affordable.
can you please, either give a list of the decks you will be discussing underneath the video or show the the deck cover for a while longer...I am fed up rewinding to see the name of the deck......

I'm colouring my Star Spinner with glitter pens, it makes them even better 💜 just let them dry overnight (in summer or a week in winter)

Wonderful decks I love many of them myself. I've just order the Oriens Tarot thanks for your recommendation.
I do love Next World, not sure if I've used it this year! I got the Rockpool edition of Oriens recently, absolutely love it! Star Spinner remains a favourite. I am so so keen to get Children of Litha but can't justify the shipping price on my very limited budget. I've not done a whole lot of tarot this year, I'll have to think what my favourites have been.
As someone new that just jumped on the Sasuraibito Tarot and got it, literally, 2 days ago... I can really understand what you say about the deck itself, hahaha.
It came with another 2 decks but Sasuraibito likes to get attention at random times of the day for me, hahaha.
It is for sure a deck that feels like it wants to help you on a daily basis and has some special energy to it, lol.
I really get a feel for this Deck, but why are they so expensive to purchase????
@@162sam It is made by an independent artist! The artist and creator sells it not a huge company. Sometimes independent artists have a limit in the creation of their decks meanwhile tarot decks that are being produced in huge companies are being made more faster and probably will never run out of decks for years. I hope I gave an insight!

ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS VIDEO! Actually, because of your video I ran over and bought the children of litha deck as well as a bunch of her art prints. They are stunning + I can’t wait to give them as gifts and hang them on my walls + use the deck.
I am curious if you’ve ever worked with the FORHAXA TAROT before? It’s a Seattle based artist and I just bought her deck. It’s lovely and whimsical and elemental based. I’d love to see you work with it for a month and do one of those videos where you work with it multiple times. The cardstock is kind of slippery which I don’t love, but I like the art + messages.
Thanks Katey. I always enjoy hearing what you have to say about the tarot and your favourite decks especially. I have put Next World Tarot into my cart but sadly it is unavailable for now. Hopefully, the order can be filled as after seeing it and hearing what you have to say, I am keen to have it in my hands. It has surprised me as I have not given it any attention up to now. The Spacious Tarot has also been on my radar for a while, but I keep hesitating as I have so many wonderful decks still barely used. The Orien’s Animal Tarot is waiting for me in my letter box for when I return home. I feel drawn to work with the animal kingdom this year. Last year, I unconsciously kept grounding myself by kicking my shoes off whenever I could and focusing on my breathing. It surprised me too, as normally I am mentally very scattered and unfocused so to drop into my body and breathe was a very calming and new experience for me. For now, my favourite tarot deck, and the one I have with me all the time, is Shadowscapes. I edged mine with violet and then used silver sparkle nail polish to add some bling. That was a nerve-wracking experience as I did not want the nail varnish to dry quickly and stick the cards together. There was a bit of bleed onto the back but it is barely noticeable and now the edges feel harder and less prone to chipping. Of course, I adore Stephanie Law’s artwork which is magical. This deck takes me back to my childhood and into the fantasy fae world of my imagination. I love it! Also, Barbara Moore’s writing is evocative and pulls me into the cards in a visceral way. I think it could be a great deck for path-working. All the best for 2022. I don’t know about you, but I have started the year feeling very optimistic and confident. That is very different to how I felt 12 months ago.
Also, how can you not love the Oriens 9 of Cups with that cute kitty?

I have the Oriens Tarot mini indie and I too think it is a beautiful deck. I was very lucky to get my hands on it since I missed the larger indie deck. I ordered the mass market version recently and returned it due to cardstock, so I was disappointed.
Next World Tarot: In your opinion what types of readings are best suited for this deck? I have the pocket size and while I love the powerful and diverse imagery, I haven't connected with it yet and I really want to. Thank you!
Drunk Hobi always takes me out😂 I'm tempted to try finishing the BTS tarot deck I started making earlier this year but dropped when life got in the way.
I wanted to like Chrysalis but I found it to be a little offensive to some cultures so I traded it. Children of Litha is amazing!!!!

I finally decided on The Sasuraibito .... But why are they so expensive????? Any advice from you guys would be appreciated. I really want The Sasurabito Tarot Deck, but the prices I've seen them selling for is unbelievable!
It’s an independent deck and independent decks are often more expensive - that’s just how production costs work. You can always try getting a secondhand copy, but indie decks often retail their value reasonably well, so you probably won’t get it much cheaper. Your other option is to pick a mass market deck instead, which are usually much more affordable.
