And in av it was nearly impossible to kill the boss without tapping towers. I must say im a bit disappointed how it is. I played on private server before classic and its very different imo
Back when it first came out the battles could last over 24 hours. Eventually it just turned into a race. I remember joining one in progress and fighting for 2 hours, then going to bed, go to work, jump into another one and it being the same battle that I first jumped into the day before.
This is strange because my experience the alliance try to avoid a fight with horde in the middle and the horde basically just try to trap the majority on choke and then alliance will summon druids and push us back until we kill them then we push them back and eventually just take everything and win, the only thing I experience with this is the Afkers I am EU but when we get Russians they wait for us and fight and it’s usually 50/50
That boss sequence, I almost broke a mouse because of this, he was left with less than 4%hp, the mage got targeted, the tanks didn't do anything the mage flee the combat zone and the boss end up regen all hp. Good job man good job.

Big departure from vanilla WoW there. AV was war of attrition back in the day. I played for hours trying to take and hold Stonehearth bunker, then logged out for the night. When I logged in the next morning I hopped back INTO THE EXACT SAME AV I left the night before... and I went right back to trying to take and hold Stonehearth bunker.
I remember back when I played in classic. Warsong Glutch was usually won by Horde, Alliance usually won Arathi Basin and both were fairly even in Alterac Valley, but hardly anyone fought each other in Alterac Valley. I was the PvE players PvP map.
I played on a relatively small server during Vanilla WoW and there often weren't even enough people q'd to even open an AV. When one finally popped I'd get frantic whispers to join, then both Alliance & Horde were so happy to be inside that matches sometimes lasted 1+ hours... Oh how times have changed.
I remember AV when you would start a game at 6:00pm at night, give up on it after 2am, go to sleep, wake up, queue in, and the SAME GAME was still going. With the Horde stuck at the bridge, of course.
Haha so true. That scene near the end with the tank asking for a healer is the reason I always win my AVs...I main resto druid. :) ...and I am ALWAYS the ONLY healer in there. 😅
In AV, I used to use mage to one shot warriors or druids to make sure tanks to get to the boss when the two factions meet. That was before they changed the honour kills such that after 5 honours you get zero. After that no one cared much about honour kills just went straight to drek and stormpike.
lol, yup. Also, AV used to last for hours so I'd participate for a few hours and then do my homework while I sat in stealth in a bush nearby. When I was done, I'd start playing again.
Not in the old classic WoW AV, the NPCs were too powerful that the alliance couldn't rush them. Once they nerfed all the NPCs they took all the skill away and the imbalanced map became a major factor.
