I have an idea as this was happening to me, i went through other videos before I came to this one, and i had your problem, most likely because I already installed what everyone else told me to, i just made a simple vm as easy as he just did from scratch and it worked perfectly, so delete the one you already made and just make a new one

If you are able to create a VM then network is present. Just go to console.cloud.google.com/networking/networks/list to verify whether the VPC is present. In the Compute Engine screen you will see a drop down named "Columns" click and select "Network" to get this column
I am running an application inside VM with localhost and port 5555 but how can I access same application outside VM? My VM has different external ip, is there a way to map my application's port to VM's external port, let me know.
Go to Firewall Rules console.cloud.google.com/networking/firewalls/list page and create a Firewall to allow port tcp:5555 and more done open browser and try externalip-of-the-vm:5555

Different Project means different VPC networks hence ping will not work. For it to work use VPC Peering but make sure IPs conflict is not there b/w these two network

Try to change the speed in the remote desktop app. I changed that to LAN and it worked pretty smooth. Edit: U can find that by pressing Show Options and then Experience Tab.

@@boriszyrianov6121 RDP port 3389 (firewall) is opened in Default VPC. If you have a windows VM which is using Default VPC then RDP will work automatically.

Thanks for the video. For some reasons RCP works only with ubuntu-desktop. Xubuntu makes the session end in RDP as we enter password.

But in my case, the "Remote Desktop Connection" app is not opening. Note that I am working on Ubuntu 18.04 OS on my Desktop as well

If when you enter your password, the window closes, try instaling the desktop with : sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop

delete your vm make a new one you messed it up with everyone elses videos, i did it too, but i made a new one and it worked
When I enter the password and click ok a black screen appears and they RDC closes

I had also the same issue. Try this command
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop
Guess Ubuntu desktop is not installed. Now it is working for me.

Remote View uses Xfce which is a lightweight Desktop environment. Normal one will be usually Gnome

SSH into the VM and run *sudo -s* to switch to root user then type *passwd* to create your new password

Yes, this is a known issue. I use my LAN cable instead of WIFI and use n1-standard-8 configuration it is pretty decent
