Yes, they studied in Davao City, Philippines, under the head of Mandirigmang Kaliradman (MK), Master Manolo del Rosario. The Korean guy teaching in the video taught Kali in South Korea and established the MK Korea chapter.
Taekwondo Defense is the name of their channel/organization. And as you, me, and anyone else who have knowledge of martial arts to some extent could see, it isn't just taekwondo. It is mixed martial arts. You are ignorant about something that should be common sense between you, me, and the viewers of this channel.
They can name their organization however they want. But in itself they are incorporating a lot of Filipino martial arts. Why not credit it in the video or their organization description. 😂 Koreans do love cultural appropriation
That's silat and kali adaptation. Alone korean doesn't have much knowledge. If you want to learn real martial art, you go to japan, china, taiwan, southeast asia, it's a hub
@sha zhan You should know history. Silat is the martial art of the Nusantara archipelago, one of the regions of the Nusantara archipelago is a part of the Philippines today.
@sha zhan It has also been theorized that the Filipino art of Arnis may have roots in India and came to the Philippines via people who traveled through Indonesia and Malaysia to the Philippine islands. Silambam, a stick/staff-based ancient martial art of India influenced many martial arts in Asia like Silat. As such, Arnis may share ancestry with these systems - some Arnis moves are similar to the short stick (kali or kaji) and other weapon based fighting styles of Silambam. I took that from wikipedia about Arnis en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arnis
This really saddens me, the fact that they are incorporating kali/eskrima techniques without puting credit on it it is just a rip off. By incorporating tkd and some eskrima/kali techniques it's like setting up the minds of the people that those techniques are tkd orginals.
