This game should've been made 10+ years ago when they still knew what they were doing. New AC's are just large boring games filled with useless fetch quests. And there's no good character or story development.

About 55 years before this take place Ezio sat down on a bench in Firenze taking his final breaths not knowing that his "struggle is not only moving in one direction but all directions towards the truth" (From AC Revelations) and this game is one of the many directions, we're finally getting a full blown asian based assassins creed game my fellow assassin's, lets hope this turns out good :) Nothing is True and Everything is Permitted.

Back in Assassin's Creed 3, Connor also had that type of hidden blade that turns into some kind of knife, it's interesting that in this game it's probably the first time someone gets to use it which is cool

Would have been boring bc Yasuke wasn't a samurai in our Japanese history books. He was betrayed as a village idiot. He carried tools and, did light smithy his was nothing special.

I could be totally wrong here, but from what I gather, you're not picking the "samurai route" or the "ninja route" but instead playing as both characters, using the ninja first for thinning the guards in large forts,maybe taking out the brazers and switching to the samurai to take out who's left, or if you like balls deep combat like me, just plowing through encampments with the samurai, smashing skulls, but switching to ninja for range attacks. It would be really surprising if it's just a whole playthrough as one or the other
you are right,just like GTA5 Robbery errand.
So it’s confirmed you can switch seamlessly between them at almost any point in the story, but sadly I heard that you can’t switch during combat or in restricted zones so you gotta pick one for clearing out a base or killing some dudes. Although I bet there will probably be missions where you switch between them
It's a mix of both, you choose which character to play a quest with.

Start the marathon again man. I started rewatching the whole entire marathon and it’s really incredible man. I love you so much hollow but that marathon was one of the best times to be apart of this channel and I’ve been here since 2016. I also just started replaying all the AC games and I’ll have AC2 up from you as I’m playing AC brotherhood
That marathon was what put me onto this channel, but I watched it a couple/few years after it was already done so it'd be dope to see him doing it now
This reminds me of Syndicate, where Evie was more of a stealth based gameplay and Jacob was more of a brute based gameplay

Gonna be a missed opportunity to satisfy both sides of fanbase to have the samurai guy to have rpg gameplay/combat and have the ninja/shinobi girl to have the og stealth style gameplay/combat. If they are both pure rpg gameplay/combat I’m gonna be so annoyed
@@austinlarrimore6542 Yeah, i hope so too. They tried something in Syndicate, it was not the best, but now, they have a pretty good reason to distance these two characters in terms of gameplay. Like, don't mix them together.
I want to have ups and downs with both characters
And it would be interesting to be able to switch between them, and, i don't want force missions where the game forces you to be with that one character
I'm thinking about a similar thing like the conquest battles in Odyssey, were you could choose to have either harder fight with more reward, or easier fight with less reward

I've been following and subscribed since about 2020(ish).... Hollow is by far my favourite gamer/streamer. Initially I liked probably 4 including Hollow but over time I found myself going to Hollow more and more and faster and faster. Sometimes watching a video (like this) by more then 1 content provider but over time I've definitely grown so much more towards Hollow.
He's definitely the best in my opinion anyway.

The cool part you can switch between characters and so you get to play both not just one. Depending on the mission and sitution of the mission.
I'm wondering if the other character will help at the back, kinda like an npc that distracts, destroys and kills guards depending on how you do the mission. Like what they did with assassin recruits and the vigilantes, courtesans, and thiefs but this time, it's Naomi or Yasuke that does it
It would actually be great if you can instruct directions to the other main character you're not using to do things that can make the mission alot easier
Sorry to break it to you, but the one black “samurai” was actually just a helper and the photo with armor was done for a laugh.
But leave it to people who most likely choose not to do research and will believe anything that is fed to them.

Just a friendly FYI, female shinobi are referred to as kunoichi(scratch that, I stand corrected and did more research, it's more a modern term), and there is no definitive proof that Yasuke was a samurai but he was considered a retainer of Oda Nobunaga. I know that people probably don't care, but I though that it was interesting to mention.
The Smithsonian says he's a Samurai. I trust that over less credible and less researched sources.

Hopefully we will be able to switch between characters and choose for certain missions more appropriate character or what specific style we want to play during missions.
Yes this is available in the game you can choose which one you want to take, go in the front gate with Yasuke and crush evb with the kanabo? Or sneak over the walls and assassinate and disappear with naoe. Of course there’s gonna be some character specific missions but the freedom is there

@@overused6632 these are two different things. The company who made the trailer is not Ubisoft. It is a Hungarian company called Digic which has nothing to do with the game. I'm totally against what Ubisoft did with The Crew as well, but if you think about it, the Assassin's Creed franchise is their most important franchise. You can still play the original game from 2007 so I doubt that they will remove it any time soon. Also, most digital purchases of games are rental anyway (even on Steam), this is the sad world we are living in. However, I wish that people would put away the Ubisoft hate for a second and just enjoy the quality of this CGI trailer which takes time and talent to make. :)

To be fully honest I have no respect or hope for this game. Visuals are beautiful but mirage was such a let down and the fact they couldn't just make the main character a true character of it's region. I've never seen a black samurai and I feel them on trying to implement the first black samurai which I'm sure there were a handful in a time when slavery still existed and even though we weren't viewed as equal as Japanese people. It feels like Assassins Creed is just trying to make sure they check boxes here and make a knock-off Ghost of Tsushima. The franchise is slowly dying it's sad. I was a massive fan and the past few years have just been sub par.
Don't you know. They're doubling down on DEI in their games. The story to this game was completely different before the DEI and the original team were fired.

This has been a long time waiting... The first assassins creed Ill buy at the start on release since Black Flag. I'm ready and cant wait to see more.
As an Asian man I’m bummed out that the main character isn’t a Japanese male. I know there’s a female one but every other game had a female and male character from the area they were trying to represent. Miyomoto Musashi should’ve been the samurai. There hasn’t been an Asian Male lead in an assassins creed game and that’s what upsets me. Because there probably won’t be another chance for a while. Adewale and Bayek were black assassins already. I wished I was able to see an a strong Asian male character in the game. This would be like if they made an AC china set in the Yuan dynasty and they decide to make Marco Polo the main protagonist just cause he was apart of Chinese history for a second. I’m not hating on Yasuke I love that he’s in the game but he should not be the lead character. I know there’s a Japanese female lead but not having a male Japanese character is a bummer. I’ll probably watch Hollow play this but I will not be purchasing this for myself. I cannot bring myself to support this. I feel left out and disrespected as an Asian man.
You should try Ghost of Tsushima, one of my all time fav. Was awesome playing as Jin. As an Afrucan, i'm even more stocked playing as the Legendary Samurai exploring Japan for the first time, also playing as the female protagonist from Japan will be cool af. Definitely a day one for me! Last AC game I played was black flag and with all the marketing on this one, its definitely a day one

I totally understand how you feel but I really think that you need to think about the amount of games that have a “strong Asian male main character” and compare that to the amount of games that have yasuke as a main or even playable character. Adewale was a 4 hour dlc which you Chinese mobile game will probably be longer then.
I get why you would be a little bummed out but generally being mad when there is millions of games with male asian main characters with new ones coming out each year is really a stretch.

Yasuke was a man, likely of African origin, who served as a servant and retainer to the Japanese daimyō Oda Nobunaga in 1581-1582, during the Sengoku period. He was retained by the daimyō as a koshō for a period of 15 months until Nobunaga's death in the Honnō-ji Incident.

The way Naoe dodged that guy’s sword was clean. Yasuke’s cool too, from the way he offed 4 enemies at once.
Between the two, I’m going to be playing as Naoe, because I prioritize stealth tactics than open conflict.

Odyssey is the most gorgeous-looking title in the franchise IMO.
The end of the trailer, when that familiar AC music was playing, along with that side-view of the 2 protagonists, gave me instant goosebumps!
Yasuke and Naoe looks BADASS. I love this franchise. Have played all the games and read all the novels/comics. Seriously underrated.
