- This is a monthly test of the Dubois County Emergency Siren System (Originally Filmed March 1ST). Tests are usually conducted the first day of each month at 4:00 EST, weather permitting. This particular siren is located on N. Van Buren St. & Railroad Ave by the Huntingburg municipal building. This siren preforms two minutes of attack while the 2001s manage to stay on for another minute.
This is the second time I recorded this siren because the first video's quality was not the greatest. I also recorded this from a different location on the alley instead of the parking lot East of this siren. It seemed pretty cool and I also noticed that the shroud on this siren seems to be getting loose.

Lol, an omnidirectional siren just rotated...
DiggerGuy681 maybe the screws are loose
The chopper moved it while producing the sound xD
JBC Parkward that’s... that’s how the sounds produced.
the loose housing XD

lol when the siren wants to have a rotator too 0:12
That grunt that the model 7s make when they wind up sounds so cool
Update 12/2019 - This siren has been decommissioned and no longer sounds.
RIP
Damn
Rip
NOO!!
Not the rotational model 7
Omnirotational!
lol that's what I thought!!
At 0:14 the siren look at me.
This sounds like the 2001 in the background. Introducing the new Federal Signal 2007!
2008
Darren Hall
no, 7 plus 2001 is 2008 not 2009 XD
1998
The Model 5 and 7 have different motors. The 2001 shares the same chopper as a Model 3 which is a smaller siren than the 2001 series.
local fire house has this and a 2T22 on their roof. the 2T22 is used the most and the model 7 is no longer used as far as im aware.
Speaking of DSAs in FL, the cities of Indian Shores and Redington Shores, Florida both have a shared system of two Federal DSAs and one Modulator (in Redington Shores) for weather warnings. One DSA is located on a cell tower behind Indian Shores City Hall, the other DSA is on a pole on Gulf Boulevard @ 199th Avenue, and the Modulator is at a park between Sunset & Gulf Boulevards. Heard them several times while vacationing in Treasure Island (to the south).
OHHH I miss that sound!! We don't use sirens around here anymore even though we still have them at the fire stations.
This is the most common sirens used for fire calls along with the STH-10
dude u need to tell the owner of this siren to fix the screws cause it's screws is lost
An unsecured and rotating housing seems to be a common problem on Model Xs.
Never realized you can sort of see the chopper spinning in these if you look closely
Didnt huntingburg replace most of their system with 2001srns a while back?
I FOUND THIS SIREN IN OYSTER BAY NY ON TOP OF THE FIRE STATION ROOF ON SOUTH STREET AND IT HAS A SAME PITCH AS THIS SIREN IT GOES OFF MONDAY TO SUNDAY
Awesome echo!!
Nice Video!!!
Whoops, I meant to say the Model 3 is a smaller siren than the Model 5/7.
We have one of those here but it's only used for a noon whistle now. But they haven't set that off in years.
Does this siren also have a STH-10 motor?
That's our volunteer fire siren sound (looks the same too) here on Long Island.
did that siren move? because the shrouds need to be tighten
No problem, go right ahead. Thanks for asking :)
Yep, but it is not meant to do that . The shroud (the silver thing) of the siren should probably be tightened down better, but I've seen much worse.
SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A MODEL 5 AND A MODEL 7 IS!!!! ARE THEY THE SAME CHOPPER AS A 2001?!?!?! sorry i never quite got the difference between them. they look and sound the same to me...
@rowen211 It would be very nice to see more sirens in Florida. The first time I ever vacationed in Florida, there was a tornado warning. It was a huge absence not hearing a siren. I have also heard that Pensacola had DSA sirens along the beach used to warn of rip currents. However they removed the DSAs after they were damaged from a hurricane. I also remember seeing an old, antique picture of a Fire Dept. in Pensacola that had a Model 5/7 (just like the one in the video) atop the Fire Station
My favorites sirens: Model 7, Thunderbolt 1003, 2001 130, aca allertor and 3t22
Has the shroud on this siren been fixed?
Not necessarily, I mean, the Model 2 does have a lower, deeper pitch than the Model 5/7. However, between a 5 and a 7 it is nearly impossible.
Nice 2001 wind up!
Why did the model 7 spin
The only old siren that federal signal still makes is the model 2
The Siren Kid The new Model 2's are pure pieces of crap lol
whats the difference between a model 5 and a model 7? I can't really tell.
ChrisCo-Op Gaming nothing, except for the horsepower. Model 5's have 7.5 horsepower, model 7's have 10. Not always true, and for the most part, it's just a name
The shell is not stuck to the pole
looks more like a fire dept siren also my grandmother has this siren just it's a fire dept siren it's yellow and it honks
I heard a Model 7 on a pole in Jericho, NY going off for a call
The 8-port Model 5 and 7 sirens sounded much lower than this 12-port version.
safety mode failed to disable for me >:(
I always thought model 7's had skinnier housings, and were usually red. The model 5's had fatter housings, and were usually yellow.
why does the emergancy siren spin 15 degrees when it starts up
Because the shroud is coming loose
the housing was loose so the wind and/or the force of the chopper forced the housing to move 15º
the answer to your question is no...you can only tell by the sound,ID tags, or control boxes
Add a T on the end of the Model 7,
*Its gonna be a 9/12 port Omni directional Allertor basically.*
More like an SD-10.
It's easy to tell a Model 3 and a 5/7 by looks
0:13 the sire spun a little bit
The Oyster Bay Fire Department Has This Siren Equipped On Their Roof On South Street
Better tighten the bolts before it goes spinning off the pole.
look closely at the bases and youll see that the 7 has a slightly larger base
do they make these sirens anymore?
Aww
Federal Signal still makes the Model 2, which is pretty much the same except a few tweaks.
0:13 Wow that model 7’s housing needs proper installation
Or maybe replace it
I saw it spin
2:23 I hear a 2001 in the background.
They’re next to each other
I hear 2001 siren sounding off
LOL my computer is so slow that this siren sounds like Morse Code XD XD :P XP
It needs to be straightend out on pole
I Hear a 2001 At 2:25
Sounds more like a fire siren then a tornado siren…
Ye not supposed to rotate mate!
THIS SIREN SOUNDS THE SAME AS IN OYSTER BAY
From what I've heard, not really.
My favorite sirens: model 7 have rotate
Sure does!
Sound like cosgrave siren
How close is the 2001?
Few blocks away
+DSRX100 it sounded close. I turned my volume up and I could here the full wind down
This is actually a model 5, it's shorter than a model 7
Yes you are correct
It doesn't depend on the night it depends on the HP
Model 7s wind up faster than Model 5s
what if a bird got scared on that thing
hahahahhha ikr
That happened all the time with sirens
Could use some new paint but is otherwise sounding awesome!
Sounds like a Model 5
They sound the same they just have different motors
just for kicks speed this up three times faster
FOOOOCCCUUUUUSSSS!
An omnidirectional siren rotated XD
Model 5 having rotate
my bad
This thing looks creepy...
0:12 never knew model 5s had rotators lol
If you think they do they don’t . But if your joking I get it
@@LilThomas2010 I'm joking.
@@GreatMidwesternTrains of course you are
Hi; just to let you know; I recorded these sirens; but I did ask. The reason for my username change was that the account that I had when I asked for permission was hacked by some twat. >:(
Siren
thats a model
5
wrong model 5 sounds like a single tone 2t22 not a fs 2001-130
2001 background
Lol it Rotated.
xD
