However, UK viewers who do manage to get their hands on this device will be disappointed to learn that it only ships with a US plug and does not support UK apps such as iPlayer and ITVX.
5 TV household here in Dallas, TX, Ms Tanya💕 .. 2 Nvidia Shields, 1 Onn K, 1 Onn Pro & 1 Firestick .. I am super impressed with both Onn streaming boxes, considering the Shields performance .. & for the price $50, the Onn Pro is worth EVERY penny!! .. Be aware that the remotes could possibly be with a backlit feature or not .. Look for model numbers 2409A & later that have the blue 'talk button' on them for remotes WITH the backlit function

An absolute buy for me so long as the Bluetooth issues have been resolved. The inclusion of the USB 3.0 port has me worried about that, considering 3.0 greatly interferes with the 2.4Ghz band. I was willing to put up with the downgraded remote control, and slightly laggier overall performance on the ONN 4K compared to the 4KMax, but the weak Bluetooth was a dealbreaker. I need a solid, good range connection to my earbuds and headphones. I hope that you'll test this aspect when you do a review.
This is one hell of a device though, especially considering that it is $10 cheaper than a new full-priced 4KMax. Unfortunately I don't expect the ONN device to ever have a sale price, while the Firestick routinely goes on sale for more than 50% off. I bought mine for $24.

Wow. FABULOUS 😂 I've just replaced 3 firesticks with the $20 version and I love them. This is a step up with a faster processor, more memory and storage. Wish it was priced at $39 95. I can't price justify upgrading now

Hi Tanya, I've had enough of Amazon after 5 years use. They've shot themselves in the foot with their new policies and it'll cost them. Now phasing out my Cube and 2 firesticks and running a Shield which is pricey, top spec and faultless. Also received a G7Max from overseas which has great specs, 4Gb RAM and 64Gb storage. £40 delivered and certainly worth a review. It's good. When the Onn becomes more accessible, I'll give it a whirl.

Firestick killer. No more blocked functions and forced apps and ads. Android equals freedom to make my device mine and not amazons. 3gb / 32gb and $50 at that. No decision needed

No. I do not recommend this box for UK viewers. It is very difficult to get it shipped to the UK. In addition, you cannot install UK apps like iPlayer and ITVX. The Fire TV Stick 4K Max is one of the best devices available for UK viewers: tiny.cc/fireuk.

its the perfect device that google should have done the hardware specs r much needed + its a google home speaker + a much needed 32gb storage compared to the google Chromecast measly 8gb its the perfect combo

@donovansmith5581. You CAN install APK files ... sideload Apps, sir, but you need to go into the Settings to disable Google Store protection as it has 'problems' with Apps that haven't been obtained via the Google Play Store. 😉

When you say that you're going to go over everything then you need to mention whether the onn can be jail broken or comes like that already and if it has the same or better features like the firestick. I may be the last person to know but I'm sure someone else is probably asking the same thing. Thanks I watch a lot of your videos so keep doing them for crash test dummies like me.

Hi, I did read a comment from someone else on another video that said you could press the down button on the wheel when watching a movie and there will be a pause stop play and other options. They didn't mention anything about fast forward or rewind.

The price to UK puts me off, plus that big blue button on the remote. After that, it's the difficulty of loading iPlayer, itvx, ch5 apps. No all4 due to Google

The original is still a great device. It's only 20 bucks. I'd keep it and put in an alternate room. ...... and still buy a pro version when available.

The “first wave” of Onn 4K Pro units were shipped with the basic remote that does not include a backlight or the “Free TV” button. Walmart has now switched to including the more desirable remote, which includes a backlight, as the retailer says “The backlight version will be available with the product soon.”
