    I tend to think Hanabusa should have stepped back on the issue of the departing person. Trying to persuade someone on a pressured project after the death of one family member and worried about another family member to stay on, is not the appropriate time when they clearly need time deal with personal priorities. Anytime, there is a death in the family, time is needed for grieving. Pressuring Kahekina on how it should be handled is micro managing. They clearly need to time away from work and not have to address Rail's problem.

    Just focusing my comment on this particular issue...if someone wishes to leave their employment as an out-of-state resident, because there is an illness in their family, that is totally their choice. As it's only that person that knows what's best for them and their family. WHAT IF that's person has a parent OR child with a terminal illness that has but a year left to live??!!
    This selfishly isn't about rail, this is about being there for 'OHANA'. After all, isn't that what we who grew up in Hawaii are supposed to be about...family.

    • @EvilTheOne
      @EvilTheOne Před 2 měsíci +2

      @@jcougar55 So true! And if Hanabusa wanted to appeal to have the person possibly stay, all she had to do is say respectfully to Kahikina that we'll (both of them) speak to the person one more time in-person. She didn't have to verbally attack Kahikina in that board room...no class.
      And as all of them are frustrated about rail, Hawaii always should've hired someone that knew something about a rail system from the beginning. They always seemed to hire people that were learning on-the-job.
      The same can be said about trying to get the stadium designed and built.

    That was totally wrong. When an employee wants to leave they leave. No talk story about trying to keep them. He had his reasons that seem totally separate from anything to do with rail. Are they saying no one else in that department can step up and take over. If that is the case it may a good thing to bring in someone new that may actually train / mentor another person to do that job just in case an emergency were to arise. As a boss it is always good to have people under you capable of stepping in and doing what you do. This isn't his leaders fault. But to slam her with her frustrations is wrong and unprofessional. Who voted this lady in? Maybe they are the reason people are leaving. Can you imagine her with the cameras off? Watch out, she be showing her true colors right there. Hanabusa I agree should resign. We don't need that kine of leadership in Hawaii... As we all know in Hawaii we cherish family so what the "F" is Hanabusa talking about? Some of the shipyard uses the rail, but even they need another bus to get from Aloha Stadium. I’m hoping as more stops open up it will get more traffic. I do use it to commute to work and would use it to go to town if could rather than fight for parking.

If not a one Oahu press pointed a threatening letter when they was stalling last year that it in the contract if you go over the agreement you have to pay back the 1/2 700 million back. Qoute : City Center Guideway and Stations” contract or CCGS is expected to cost about $1.3 billion, and is a vastly complex undertaking. It is the last major construction contract for the project, and will finally extend the rail line into the city’s densely developed Kahihi and downtown neighborhoods.
      Meddings oversaw rail construction and has been deeply involved in the planning and procurement process for the CCGS contract, which has already been repeatedly delayed.

    damn waste of money..10 billion dollars..hawaii population is 1.2mil..why not give all those 1.2mil people 1 million dollar each..i mean they gonna still get 9 mil dollars for leftovers..nobody will complain about traffic if each family gets 1 mil dollars.

    Non of these yahoo's are important to this project. Look at any part of the rail construction and tou will see... very few workers. Hiw can this project ever get finished with only a few working on it. Hart is a fail. All.involved are failing daily. Put a hundred workers on the project and get it atleast through Kalihi... This project has gone on for way to long.
