I remember playing Top Roblox Runway Model, and I can say that the game being a tantalizing target for exploiters towards the end of its lifespan was what really hit the final nail in the coffin. It seemed like people were dead set on killing that game by making every server unplayable, and to an extent they succeeded.

i literally hated that so much (except for the fact that one of them gave me infinite points xd) but most of the time they just destroyed every server. I missed when pets and vip worked..

An amazing example of the “find the things genre” would be Find Everything, by Polyhex. The game features it’s own platformer mechanics, references and even a gym to unlock new mobility features.

I like how simple the older games were. Base Wars is a good example of a game that never really failed. Been around for a long time and people still play it, but I feel like it lost its old player base after an overhaul back in 2017 or 2018.

5:02 Fun fact, I actually play this hide and seek game a LOT, and about 95% of the time, there's at least 4 people in the server. In fact, one time I was playing, there were 3 servers active, which is a lot for this dead game since the servers can hold about 15 - 20 people each.

yeah there is also hide and seek extreme which is from 2016 and its still popular cause it has no toxic players

4:20 I've been missing Brick Bronze A LOT recently. The game meant so much to me and it managed to be so original while not just being another Pokemon spinoff. Many of my greatest Roblox memories come from it, and to this day I consider it the greatest Roblox game to ever exist. Thank you so much for covering it!

@@pyrobytee in terms of technical and graphics it was far ahead of its time. it expanded the idea of what people could do in roblox. cutscenes, sprites, the UI system, it was EXTREMELY advanced for its time

Parkour Tag was literally everything to me. What hurts even more is that I was there LIVE watching it's downfall. What hurt the games player base was the lack of new content. Dibs was a very slow updater to the game, on top of this his lack of transparency with the community.

I remember in 2017, Lando's Hide and Seek game used to be booming with popularity. I occasionally play it every now and then, And I'm glad you mentioned the game in the video!

Some more knowledge from an OG:
- "Lando Caverns", as well as a ton of other cavern-themed exploration games derive their inspiration from the 2008 game "Doom Caverns" by Maelstronomer.
- "Badge walk" games were viewed in negative light by most people of the era.
- The meshes used in Deception Infection are puzzling. They are Halo weapon models that were uploaded way back in the day back when custom meshes required you to load up assets in Studio to work, but somehow they have transcended time & space and managed to appear in modern Roblox. I always wondered if they were always hidden in the game along with the old gravity hammer mesh from back in the day.
- "A Pirate's Life" was heavily inspired by Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean Online", and shares a lot of elements between the games.

Jeez I almost forgot about those old Lando games, I freaking loved those. The one with the snake boss fight is probably my favorite (just looked it up cause I forgot the name, it’s Snake Pillar). Also I think the reason Deception Infection has Halo models is because stickmasterluke was working for Roblox at the time he made it, so he had more freedoms with Roblox Studio; i.e. he could port stuff over. Halo FTW!
@@nachopinata9628 oh god I forgot about snake pillar, that was one of the first games to really do custom GUI stuff before they were a thing with some hacky workarounds by making blocks with click sensors float around the player's camera. Was the coolest thing at the time
the halo weapons were uploaded by clockwork, he also upload many of the classic roblox meshes like the OG M4, AK, AUG, etc
One game I remember being on the home page during 2017 was Vampire Hunter 1 and 2 by ZacAttack. Both games had the sane main premise, but overall stayed unique. It was like murder mystery with a twist and extra modes. Shame it's so dead now. I played those games so much

I used to play all the time From 2014, I met two of my closest online friends {we still continue to be friends to this day tho we have grown up with busy jobs and no time to play or talk together anymore :( }, I joined it not to long ago to see how the game is in 2023, it works but it is overrun with teamers, exploits, and people who are super good, its playable but super hard
i used to be obsessed with Vampire Hunter 2 and Posession back when it was a thing. really cool set of games tbh.
I actually remember hearing of the games “A Pirate’s Life” and “Lando’s Haunted Mansion” from these old roblox bloopers videos from mid-January 2010 that had music from Super Mario RPG.

This video is really well put together, I remember playing all of these old games during my childhood, some of them are just rotting in my favorites page currently, it’s a shame how fast things can change online, I do genuinely miss playing these games when they were full of players. (Also cool thing I noticed, you joined roblox on my birthday lol, august 11th)

Parkour tag is so fun. I hope they add things to keep it fresh and alive in its sequel. Thats basicallg what any game needs nowadays, new content to keep ppl playing.
the sequel died in a few days of it releasing but the original still does get some activity but its mostly a small community of players
Sick video! This definitely brings me back - I joined Roblox in 2007 and many of these games were games I enjoyed a lot back in the day.
I'm the creator of After The Flash and Club Boates. Lando graciously decided to make me the first gym boss of Brick Bronze back in 2014 or 2015. I also worked with stickmasterluke on Deception Infection 2, making maps for the game. It never fully came to fruition but it was tons of fun playing it.

This gave me so much nostalgia because I started playing around mid 2011. A lot of the games you described I remember playing them when I was a kid. I miss the old days of roblox.
“Multi Minigames” is also another example of dead Roblox games that were really popular. I remember playing the game a lot as a kid and owning all the items, it’s a shame that the game barely or does not have players at all anymore. :(

I am SO glad you went over "A Pirates life", its one of the first games i ever really played on roblox and holds a chunk of my childhood, which no other roblox game holds, i realized the game was basically dying when an exploiter came in, made EVERYTHING neon/tron-like, make everything blindingly bright, raised the water level up high so that you always spawned in it and died, then left the server, thats literally all they did, and players all refused to all leave the server, so it never reseted
Ive come back to the game now and then cause i just genuinely miss it, that and like 60% of the thing sin the game i remember are now broken as well
And a second game too, mashables was also fun too, mostly cause it actually taught me how to use roblox's building tools back when I was a kid, not much comments about it, i just stopped playing it for a bit, and when i came back, i was just "broken" and i couldnt play, servers were dead, and i was really upset with nothin to take my anger out on

Idk if you've already done this, but mix the Dead Games Videos and the Games that Won't Die Video to make a "Games that died but became popular again" video. I can think of only one; The Underground War, which I remember suddenly jumped to the top page out of nowhere a couple of years ago.
i remember some old obscure water park place from like 2011 blowing up in popularity in like 2017 or 18 or somewhere around that time frame
One game that I remember fondly is 'Haunted Hotel Roleplay' by Kitteh6660, it had a hotel tower along with a few other surrounding locations to explore. The game wasn't just a roleplay map but also had missions you could do with respective badges as well. At some point years later, it was updated with the map being completely remade and all of the missions and secrets removed so it was just an empty map and an empty server since at this point the player base has since died, and as of now the game is privated and abandoned. I don't know how many people remember this game since I don't interact with the roblox community, but I felt like mentioning it here.
While not completely dead (Yet), I'm always sad to see how few players Base Wars has every time I check it. I spent so many hours playing that game, I ended up getting thousands of kills (and even more deaths lol), mastering all the vehicles, and creating insanely OP loadouts. I thought it was so neat how the game ran 24/7, as there were no rounds/levels, it made it feel like some infinitely-lasting war.

If you're planning to make another video, I'd love if you are able to cover "Strife!", Monstrum (renamed to Monstram), The Adventure Rush, The Roblox Plague, "Ready, Steady, Build", and Zee Bawx. Shedding some light on these would seriously be amazing as these were some of the most entertaining games I've played in Roblox before they died out.

3:45 This is the game that got me into roblox. I saw my cousins older brother playing this on his computer. Soonly after, I joined roblox in early 2011 when I was seven. My main game at that time was definitely build to survive zombies. (peak gaming)
I actually remember quite alot of these games, such as A Pirate's Life and Top Roblox Runway Model, and that hide and seek game. I do remember Brick Bronze aswell.

Top model holds a very special place in my heart because it was the first game I ever played and favorited in roblox, and I watched it as it slowly died out, I absolutely loved that game and I’m sad it died out, so seeing it in this video was nice
I remember this one game I’d play on Roblox. It was a PvE game where’d you come in and wait for a timer to go down. After so, a pillar would fall down and the snake statue in inside would come to life and start attacking. While you’re fighting you’ll gain points and are able to buy better gear. After you defeat the snake it’ll go into phase 2 and turn red and grow wings. Upon its defeat the snake will turn back into stone and you’ll prepare for the next time it awakens.
ah yes! that game! i dont remember what its called, (i believe its on my favorites list so i could probably just go look but im lazy lol) but i do know that it was also made by lando64000. i was kinda wondering if he would bring it up during that section but ah well.
If only roblox had an option to make it look like it was 2016. I would cry from all the nostalgia.

I’m surprised Thegamer101’s Sword Fighting Tournament wasn’t mentioned when you talked about fighting games. I remember a time when that game was always on most popular for years. I also remember the adventure rpgs like Boss Fighting Stages and Nomrial Legends. Great video overall and it was nice seeing old games I use to play❤❤
I remember playing this one game called "The Mad Murderer" by loleris. It was and still is one of my favorite childhood roblox games. I can't remember how popular it was but I remember the servers being filled, and an active player base. I think it died out due to exploiters. I remember so many instances where there were exploiters in that game. As far as I know, the game has been privated but it took about a year or more.
It was the OG Murder Mystery 😭 He also made Mad Paintball which I used to be so obsessed with as a kid.

Dude I remember PixelFlame's Neighborhood so much. That game was awesome. I remember there were a bunch of secrets around the map, including a ruined version of the neighborhood or something. I think PixelFlame was updating it at one point in 2021 but I don't think many updates have happened since then
also Parkour Tag was GOATED. some other games that I remember from that time period are The Doom Wall 2, Captivator, LAZER, Rollernauts, Giant Survival and more which have all unfortunately died.
I still remember one NPC in the sewers straight up dropping an F bomb, and young me going bananas over it, it's almost definitely gone now

These games might be a bit new compared to the ones in the video but back when I started, ripull minigames and twisted murderer was everything. I'm pretty sure they aren't doing that well now which is kind of sad. Deathrun and flood escape 2 too although I think deathrun is doing fine

Parkour Tag was dropped for more successful games like Initial Despacito and Generic Roleplay Game, as mentioned there is a sequel and a social server has been made for it but the link is valid now. ):

Played back in 2008 and quit sometime around 2016 because I grew out of it. Clicked the video because I saw downhill smash in the thumbnail. Also made me really nostalgic when you brought up jj5x5 and especially Lando. His Hide and Seek game was consistently the first one on the front page for several years because of it's popularity. I could give you a small list of games and creators from the 2008-2010 period such as xLEGOx if you ever feel like doing a sequel to this video.
I remember playing a lot of these games back in the day. Some that aren’t mentioned in this video that holds nostalgia for me are: this one game where you can create huge mechs and battle each other, a Christmas game that was only playable every Christmas where you’re an elf and you can construct toys, a pirate game where you were able to collect and trade goods, a Star Wars game where you are battling droids as a clone trooper and must get to the end to capture a flag I believe, and my first roblox game I played in 2013 was a game where you would go down an elevator into a facility and find these free model monsters like slenderman and such, this game was copy pasted a lot lol. I also did play a lot of group role playing games such as the old assassin ones, galactic republic ones, Roman ones, scp, vaktovia or whatever that serious group was called, etc. a lot of those group role playing games you could earn a rank in and it was pretty serious at times, there would be wars against other groups lol, but now it’s just buying ranks and stuff as game passes, definitely not the same as before.

tbh, I started playing this game since around 2012 as guest, and then created account in 2015, it was fun and it was like there are no toxic people, and now in 2023 it is getting worse as discord players, those games are dying, guest got deleted, and Roblox getting burrito moment, but still it was fun while it last, I still remember the old Murderer Mystery game before number 2 came up, thank you for making this video, it reminds me of great time.

Does anyone remember the infamous Boys and Girls Hangout from like, 2015. God that was a time. Glitching balloons and character customization. That secret band stage area. The massive influx of rp and actual DATING happening too it was so crazy yet i miss it ❤ used to silently dance with other users to our roblox boombox hit song ‘animals’ by maroon 5

I remember playing Top ROBLOX Runway Model (previously named ROBLOX's Top Model) in 2017, which was a Top Model-like game where you had to dress up for a random in-game topic, e.g. Rainbow, Nerdy etc. Now that the game's creator, DizzyPurple has become inactive, no one seems to play it anymore... :.(
I actually have a old game I used to play that border's death now! Who here recalls Nerf FPS(or Foam FPS, as it's called now.)? It's not 'dead' per se. but since Nerf brought their own games, it has declined RAPIDLY
Two other games that can be called dead(for real now) Is both the original Mad Paintabll, and Mad Paintball 2. Man, I miss those games.
My current Roblox account is also turning 10 this year, just in december instead. I've had a Roblox account since 2007, just not the same one. Its always fun to go back to those ancient games we used to play way back when.

One of my strongest memories involving Roblox and name that character games was calling my dad while he was at work to ask him the name of Bart because I couldn't remember his name. Still makes me laugh to this day.
Another dead lando64000 game I'm surprised you didn't mention is Snake Pillar, it only amassed one million visits compared to the 22 mil of Hide and Seek and 7.8 mil of Pirate's Life but I still remember it being pretty popular.

One game I'd like to mention would be The Plaza, while it wasn't the biggest game for it’s time around 2016-2019 it was on the homepage frequently and had a lot of potential with a 2nd game in development only to never be complete
Surprised you never brought up the Skull Kid hunts in Lando's old games! I remember seeing an iceberg formation in his pirate game and climbed it to find a weird scarecrow dude (didn't know about Majora's Mask back then).

One of the dead games is Pirate Wars by Pudinzo too. The game was created in 2010 and was once popular on Roblox, but currently no one plays it. The game consists of two teams - blue and red pirates whose task is to fight each other. In the game you can spawn boats and collect treasure, which is the in-game currency for which you can buy gravity coils and bombs. I remember when I played Pirate Wars back in 2018 and 2020-2021 and 100-200 people played it and now practically no one. Apparently the game used to be one of the most popular games on Roblox. There is also a new, refreshed part of Pirate Wars that some players are playing. It is Pirate Wars but with new things and different mechanics that are not available in classic Pirate Wars. Apparently there is to be another, newer part of Pirate Wars, which is in the testing phase
once i heard of the destruction derby game i felt the hit of nostalgia. one of my first roblox video's i watch was someone playing the destruction derby game
