  • Manningtree Station - Feb 2010 Selection of services stopping at or passing through station.
ex Virgin Class 90 Loco's and MkIII coaches now form majority of London to Norwich services.
East Coast mainline excepted, this is the last major artery to feature locomotive hauled /propelled trains. How long before these are replaced by a long distance electric unit - possibly based on Class 360's? Only time will tell. Class 90's perform very well in dry weather, but find wet rails a bit too slippery. Nowadays pretty reliable, but still the odd failure requiring assistance from another Class 90 or sometimes a Class 47 'thunderbird'. Occasionally replaced by Class 321's which are cleared to run to Norwich.
