Rare full power High Speed Train HST Intercity 125 departure - Taunton
After more than 40 years operating Intercity services from London Paddington to Bristol, Swansea, Plymouth, Penzance, Paignton, and many other places, the famous Intercity 125 trains are being retired from service. Enjoy this rare treat of a full power start from Taunton station - to celebrate the end of the 125 InterCity era. if you have never experienced a full power MTU station departure - this is for you. The engines may not scream like the original Paxman Valenta engines originally installed, but they still roar like no other engine, enabling a very fast station departure only marginally slower than the newer Class 800 trains that are replacing them on front line Inter City services. Enjoy.

Bruc this thing puts third rail trains to shame when it comes to higher speeds such as 75mph/to 100mph. Third rail can allow more power draw for some of the current units it has been said, but just isn't the case for most trains on third rail. Pretty shiyt if you ask me. This train is good for a loco made in the 80s , heck its even quicker to 100mph than a class 319/317 and 321...damn.

Well most of the acceleration happens at low speeds, often acceleration figures are only the max acceleration experienced at the start of movement or the acceleration which can be maintained under a speed of 30 mph for example.
