- Side mirror replacement and matching color cover swap. This mirror was purchased online from a scrap yard. The cover was not the same as the cover on the original mirror so the cover was swapped from the original mirror to the purchased mirror. The outside mirror has blind spot mirror and is heated with remote adjustments. The mirror is for the 2011 through 2014 Ford Edge. This mirror also has puddle lights.
Good reference video. I do a lot of small repairs, myself. Most new cars are modular. But, slow and steady is the key with these plastic parts.
Weird... prying on something improperly... and then literally bashing on it with your hand results in it being broken.
Painful to watch. Waste of my time. I thought he might have good pointers on how where to pry first.
Would be nice if i could see, what you're doing. All i seen was an orange back. 😂
It would probably work if you weren't blocking the camera.
All I saw was Orange 🤣🙏
I can't see what ur doing
There are little clips inside behind the mirror and all you had to do was push the clips down and it literally pops right out.
It pops the color cap off this way?
I really don’t think that this guy knows what he’s doing!
Are there any differences between the 2011-2014 and 2015-2018 in this process? I saw 4 screws in the mirror of my 2018 that fit the cap.
ok anyone know how to get these caps off or should I say where the clips are on the 2010-2012 fusions so I dont brake the clips
My comment is from my experience with my 2012 fusion but the mirror housing and cover look very similar.
On the original take off the mirror. Hopefully you don’t need it because it is pretty hard to do it with out the thin glass cracking. Then you can remove the screws holding the actuating mechanism. After that you can push in the tabs. There are three so get one pushed just enough to where it is able to slide out. Then push the two other tabs while pushing out firmly. Not too forcefully as the other tab will want to slide in place. I’ve done this twice and have not broken any tabs. My son took out the passenger side a few years back and I just recently hit the driver side. I got my replacement from Dorman with a shiny black cover uninstalled. However my original cover does not fit. Best to get an OEM or junk yard piece. I suppose it the cover came installed and you want to remove it you don’t care if it’s damaged and you can pry off. I think the tabs would break before damaging the cover. I would definitely do before installing. Good luck.
"Uh oh" lol 😆 she funny but not really 😒 I'm glad it wasn't mine lol
Nice job 👍
Nice work
RTV get real !
