Starting unemployed and climbing from clubs to clubs until you win the Champions League is the funniest way of playing FM in my opinion.
You can start in L3, L2 or in lower L1 leagues.
In my case :
- Unemployed
- Nîmes Olympique (French L3)
- AJ Auxerre (L1)
- Leeds United (PL)
- Valencia CF (LaLiga)
- Chelsea (PL)
- Real Madrid (LaLiga)
So fun and rewarding.
for every other football fan this was just a FM UCL finale match , but for united fans this was a hurting memory of the UEL finale against villa real😔😔
since i’m early, there’s multiple slots for tactics btw. Having more than one equipped lets them train other tactics and get familiar with them as well.

pick is surprisingly just good, gegenpress is broken in this game + man united have good players
team selection plays a huge part in difficulty, the vast majority of saves and challenges are about starting as low as you can. Man U might be shit irl like chelsea, in the game the quality of players is huge so then if u give them good tactics it makes game "simple" even though theres a big part on luck
it's not easy, it's very luck based and can feel a bit degrading if you aren't winning. however, every single issue on the game has a solution, and so as you get to grips with the game, the easier it comes and the more fun it becomes. the grind never gets stale, and the best thing is changing save to keep the game fresh
Love the fm series would love to see other teams but you got to finish with Man U first
