    Thank you for the enlightening video bc I didn’t had a clue what was the difference.
    But I consider buying a true Skate bc I have wider foot and my feet are hurting from my Hyperlite . So for the tongue I would love have a similar to the Hyperlite one.
    Which skate would you consider for me .
    177cm 74 kg and have a bit of a wider foot (Size 7)

    Any insight why the svh’s are heavier? Are they just using more carbon layers and resin? I tired pros on super comfy and almost too stiff. I’ve read svh’s are even stiffer. Do you know if true makes the svh, but as light as the pro?

    Thanks for the video. I've tried all Bauer and CCM lines plus the TF9s and can't find anything that isn't killing my foot. I even had a pair of Supremes stretched and they still were like a vice. Would you recommend the Catalyst Pro or the SVH? Also, what's the cost difference?

    • @bsharpottawa
      @bsharpottawa  Před rokem +1

      Because the Catalyst is a thinner boot material than even the TF line, you can manipulate the boot in more ways. It sound like you may want to spend a few more bucks and go with the Catalyst Pro.

      As long as you are getting your skates profiled(not from a box store, which only contour) they are almost exactly the same feel.

    I just for my cat pros. I personally prefer the svh bfio even though my feet aren't super odd shaped and no bumps. I felt the svh customs use slightly different materials that allow better heat moldability esp in the forefoot area. The cat pros mold nicely too but the shell seems to not get as soft as the svh although pretty close. The six mins bake time recommended by true for the cat pros is not long enough. I did it both at 6 mins and 10 mins and the diff was night and day. Shrink wrap after 6 mins barely did anything but shrink wrapping after ten mins my feet were locked in.

    Do you scan your feet barefoot or with socks and does it have an effect on the cast?
    Should you still bake the svh with the insoles after getting them?

    • @bsharpottawa
      @bsharpottawa  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Bare feet as it is looking at the bones in your feet. Shadows from
      Socks throw the scan off. All of the skates, SVH especially, need to be baked and wrapped after you get them.

      @@johnsantos8993my manager is going on 3 years with the TF Pro, the previous model to the SVH(which is more of a facelift) and they are still going strong. I’m on the original Pro Custom model still, and they are still alive. The original models had lots of issues with rusting rivets if you didn’t remove the insoles and let them dry out. They now use Stainless and have a different sole base, so will be be better than before

    Is there a pitch difference between the SVH and Catalyst Pro? I heard the Catalyst is more of a neutral pitch.

    • @bsharpottawa
      @bsharpottawa  Před rokem

      As the skate holders and blades are the same, they have the same “pitch” between the SVH and the Cat Pro. The SVH is available with the more ridged tendon guard which can push you more into a forward stance, like a ski boot. The flexible tendon guard, which is what comes on the Catalyst Pro is what I would suggest if you’re going with the SVH. You do not have the option of tendon guard on the Cat Pro like you do on the SVH

    • @bsharpottawa
      @bsharpottawa  Před rokem

      @@rockybrowder5302 if it’s something that bugs you in your current skates, possibly. Because of the pliability of the carbon in the Cat skates, your tech should be able to mold that out through manually manipulating the area and wrapping them. As to weight, not it’s not significantly going to impact your on ice performance.
      Weight is slightly heavier on the SVH comparing them to Bauer and CCM, but you have to take into account that the SVH comes with shot blockers included, where the other two do not.
