That '77 final was the first one I remember watching. I was 7. It was many years later that I realised that in winning that game, United stopped Liverpool becoming the first English team to win the treble.

Recently this game has become irrelevant compared to the City Liverpool rivalry..i remember how quiet Anfield was in the last game these two played against eachother even Gary Neville mentioned it in commentary..now compare that to the noise levels and intensity of Anfield last Sunday. Unbiased Villa fan speaking the harsh truth.
Utd-Liverpool is miles bigger rivalry than City-Liverpool. To suggest otherwise is insulting.
Anfield was very loud at the start of that game for first 15 minutes and completely died down after. Due to how the game was going and lack of attacking threat from United the atmosphere tailed off completely.

I am addressing the football fans of Great Britain. I am from Azerbaijan. In the entire history of football, your team has only been world champion once. This was in 1966. This match was judged by Tofig Bahramov. It was the Azerbaijani referee who insisted that the goal scored by the British be counted. Yesterday there was a match between the Bayer Germany and KARABAKH Azerbaijan teams. The match was judged by the corrupt referee from England Anthony Taylor! He did everything to make KARABAKH lose. Shame and disgrace!!! We didn't expect this from a referee from England!! A SHAME!!!
