I am addicted to this channel. I love it!
Awesome! Thanks Michelle
When I started watching your videos (30 day challenge,) I would watch on a tablet during a tea break in the garden, and they would get me all inspired to get back to 'work' quick-smart! ... Now when I see you (or Mel) have uploaded a video, I get excited and look forward to watching it, 'I will save that for later', because it is not tea break stuff anymore, it is stuff to fully immerse yourself in on a big screen and start propagating those Green Dreams! You have replaced TV!!! Not that I watched telly ... but now I have a reason to put the 'big screen' on of an evening! I am watching this one tonight, and looking forward to it with bells on!! This series is rocking the world! 🌱👊 Grow on GreenDreaming brother! 🙏
I too have been following Pete & Green Dreams since the 30 Challenge by Justin Rhodes - and I love where this channel has GROWN to !
And you aren't alone - this is my 'telly' as well :) Cheers
calendula fields nursery thank you! I could reread this comment 10 times! We are always trying to be better than yesterday. 😉❤️
Pete Kanaris GreenDreamsFL - 🌱👊 Grow on!
The Green Dreams team killed Hollywood. RIP Hollywood, you won't be missed.
@@PeteKanarisGreenDreamsFL I LIKE durian AND mangosteen LOT in Asia
This Costa Rican video series is extraordinarily beautiful. I've gotten bunches of ideas from it, from water features to build to exotic spices to try growing in my greenhouse. Thanks, Pete.
Crystal Pope the country is breathtaking! Glad you got some take aways :)
I'm learning Permaculture principles and practices watching your videos. I just got 20 acres in the Willamette valley and I heard the word Permaculture for the first time last year as I was packing to move to Oregon from Alaska. As you might have guessed I have a lot to learn. This place has a lot of lawn but no food. I'm going to build a Permaculture Paradise here, thanks for sharing the knowledge.
me too ! so much inspiration
Very true and we feel so excited and glad
Peter has a magical Fruit Forest🥰 We love to visit him👍🏼 We are happy he treats his Durian the Malaysian way, tree ripen fresh Durian is the most amazing experience🤩
With a huge move in 2020 and much to learn about how to grow, harvest and reproduce my food - this series has been invaluable to me .
NOW I know a good root stock for my black pepper ... and I know just the chef to supply it to in exchange for any barbacoa he makes! Thank you!!
Sue Potter I'm learning here too. I'm just grateful we are able to share it. To hear about the value it brings just makes the effort that much more worth it.
legend. im in awe, havent been able to go to fruit forests but this one and this fellow strike me as exceptional
On my day off My off love ❤️ to watch your video all day long .

Again, great video.
Makes me want to try and grow some of those in Southern California.
Lalo Alvarez thank you!
Your videos are Awesome man im from fl i was just in Costa Rica wat a beautiful place!
WOW Durian and Terap, it does not get better than that!
Darkstar001 you're telling me! I'm going back late April and really hoping to find more ripe fruit.
In Malay language, the root word is 'PULAS' means 'Twist'. To eat it you'll need to use both of your hands holding the top and bottom of the fruit and twist to peel. That's why its called pulasan - the act of twisting. Rambutan root word is 'RAMBUT' means Hair therefore, rambutan means HAIRY. and DURIAN comes from the word 'DURI' means Thorn, therefore DURIAN means Thorny. The method to peel a mangosteen is not by peeling its skin but to simply hold the fruit in between the palm and clench it thus squeezing gently so that the fruit will naturally open to reveal its flesh. These fruits are seasonal. Nice vidz :-)
Thanks for the info!
Polusan is the best of rambutan and leeche flavor. Plus they're bigger than rambutan. Really delicious.
That is a heaven. Wish I could stay there and live on those natural fruits.
Seriously!
Durian? ?!!! D24...gosh, they are awesome! !!!!! I can eat them all day long!😋😋. Going to M'sia in Sept 2019 !
Ay caramba, I need to bring some of this awesome knowledge back to Puerto Rico.
Hulagu Kahn do you live in Puerto Rico now?
Pete Kanaris GreenDreamsFL until I was 19. In FL since 1995
Oh….My…. Goodness….. I’m awestruck
Fantastic and lovely presentation ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈Thanks for so much, friend
I love this channel.i was shocked when he was talking about the yam and he said Micronesia 🇫🇲
Glad to hear you enjoy!
Gardening is gangster!
The Online Market that it is! 👊
Thanks for replanting
My favorite food forest on Green Dreams yet too. Did you see his wax palms. Those babies get to nearly 200ft tall.
Peter Kring is the man! Yes, those palms are insane 😳
I grow the garlic vine here close to you Pete. It grows good and has beautiful pink flowers. I'm between Bushnell and floral City. Great video.
Connie Jones that’s impressive! I’d love to get some cuttings 🙏
but whats this plant called? i would love to know so i can grow it beside you in panama!
beautiful
Sean Lemaster thanks bro! 👊
Pete Kanaris GreenDreamsFL for sure. I'll be in tampa in a couple weeks. april 12 through 15 brooo.
cool
Love this channel, i live in Indonesia &i know mostly tropical fruit in this video..
Awesome 🙏
@Cynthia Iskandar, do you know if anyone grows the garlic vine here? I'm in Indonesia too and would like to grow this as garlic doesn't grow where I am.
Can you bring the fruit plants form Costa Rica to Florida?
Not legally without special permission.
Guys what about the snakes? Costa Rica has 22 types of venomous snakes. Are they any trouble on the farms? What about the Fer de Lance? I heard that that snake is got some temper. Anyntruth to that?
Love it once again...all these are so inspiring...and the guitar sound track :)Was that spelled Pulasan ?? The Fruit similar to Rambutan ? What fruit followed it That Matt Reece enjoyed ? Great stuff as always :)
Jeff thank you! Yes Pulasan closely allied with Rambutan and commonly confused. Unfortunately they weren't ripe for us to try this trip. Was that the achachairu? I need to watch it again.
D24 taste so delicious
23:40.. wow thats salak.... very rare to find in my state
I'm from Philippines nice video
Thank you!
my dream too
Dude ❤️ ur Chanel
Thanks Mike!
its hard to find pulasan here in malaysia.. hard to find the fruit... leave alone to find the seedlings.. id love to plant em in my orchard
I like Costa rica Just like philippines.. The fruits forest etc are same as We have in the philippines.. I want to go and live Costa rica.. Lol
Me too!
I’ll be looking for you! I’ll be down there in 3-4 months. 2022
This farm has no sound of loud cicadas insects like the other one you toured. Is it a different terrain or area because this area is wonderful!
好吃水果
may i suggest... that area is an awesome spot for longan trees... gotta love em those fruit as well.. sweet and juicy.. yumm.. ive planted 2 of em called the ping pong variety.. and the size as those ping pang balls. hugeeeee.. to longan standard.
Ariff Affendi I really like longans. I think he had a few planted, we might have cut that footage.
This guy is so cool
Peter Kring is the man!
He seems like a really nice person
❤❤❤❤❤
D24 durian clone originates from my country Malaysia.
Self fertile trees are cool.
Consider purchasing a wireless microphone for your camera. Having the super cardioid shotgun is great but when you turn away we lose the voice. If your guests are up for wearing a lapel mic I think it would really free up the camera man to do more panoramic shots while the farmer is talking about the area.
11219tt yes we are looking into those. This trip was a real learning experience film wise, I used all types of new equipment. Just before leaving I bought the new rode video mic pro, it's great but yes only if it's pointed directly at its subject. It won't happen again:)
Pete Kanaris GreenDreamsFL I thought it sounded like a Røde mic. Dang! I should have mentioned that. lol that would have been spooky!
11219tt I'm stilling playing with the audio to be honest, I have the video micro now. The pro required a battery and being turned on and off. Not totally satisfied yet.
Pete Kanaris GreenDreamsFL right on. Yea I don’t know too much about video audio. I worked at guitar center for 2 years which is where I learned what I know. I spent the last 10 years working in a professional recording studio doing music, so my audio recording knowledge is huge :)
I do think your video recording quality has gone up. I always like the drone birds eye stuff. Audio is a tricky one especially out in the field...anything can happen.
Keep up the good work! And look forward to the future vids.
Most of those fruit are common in Indonesia. With almost similar name
durian, rambutan ,manggis ,dukuh, salak etc fruit in indonesia and southasia
How did u get the durian tree I am looking for one . Cómo puedo conseguir uno estoy en peru.
🤗
can you sent to usa or not
Can anyone tell me what specie they are band-pollinating at 22.00? Can’t quite catch the name they are saying.
acha acha he is speaking hindi it means good
Dont forgot to make fry cempedak .. recipe is in ytube
Those fruits which he planted are common in South East Asian countries.
Mangosteen season are the same as durian season
Real food forest...needs more sun under the canopy.
looks like a wonderful little paradise to live in! My one judgemental thing to say though is, I reckon this guy could practice a little bit of appreciation (of course I don't know what's going on in his life, but for whatever reason he seems very very serious). Lighten up mate! you're living in a blooming, blossoming part of mother gaia. Practicing gratitude and appreciation is vital.
I sure would like to go down there and do that. It would be different than long hours in the office, that's for sure.
Benjamin Harrison Gray it would be a trip well worth making. I'm thinking about putting a group trip together.
Pete Kanaris GreenDreamsFL Well more specifically I mean dreaming about just totally quitting the office job and going into permaculture in a place like this, although I have absolutely no experience in it.
26:42 LIKE THAT SNAKE PLANT WE EAT SIMILAR PLANT AS VEGETABLE (STEM) IN WEST BENGAL (INDIA). (Amorphophallus paeoniifolius)
i like u r videos,,one by one i m watching,big fan from pakistan,plz do visit pakistan mango,orange apple and different fruits farms,,,i hope u like it,,,,
Thank you! I really hope to visit one day 🙏
I don't have any water bodies near me.can I start permaculture??
I would like to visit this farm if possible. Let me know how can I each the farmer? I feel many of my passions are implemented well by the owner
Dude that is permaculture
🙌
what do the majority of these guys do to feed there trees Pete? it kinda looks like they dont even bother and they just plant it in the dirt and thats it?
❤️👍
Can someone please tell me what the scientific name of the "garlic plant" around 8:26 is please? Googling comes up with normal garlic, and or the flowering garlic vine, not the edible kind shown here.
Tim O'Hanlon
Garlic Vine, Ajos Sacha - Mansoa alliacea, Pseudocalymma alliaceum, Cydista aequinoctialis
fruitful living! lifesaver. so cool. quite an unstable moment for the naming convention... wanna get! wonder if its really a good sub
We have the flowering garlic plant in Papua New Guinea, my mother has it growing all over the patio, but nobody EVER eats it. Hence why I thought it was some other kind of plant... I will try to eat it next time I visit. Thanks.
Very Nice where are the country? That you take a videos.
This was Costa Rica
@@PeteKanarisGreenDreamsFL thank you. I'm thailand
16:20 Kepel. This grows in the jogja palace, it is a deodorant to your sweat
4:35 .. i just cant comprehend the tenacity of THAIs Durian farmer that pluck thier durian before they ripen... heck i even tried once of thier durians every now and then and yea... pluck durian taste like car tyre. and they are not cheap either... . even thou they have Huuuugeeeeeee plantations and vast variety of duriann... why cant just the fruits ripens up nicely.... its madness...
very dissapointed with them again and again..... the reasons i taste thier durians every now and then is to know if they change thier practice or not.. and yet... they still dont... NOW... i plant my own durians with mixed variety of some area i plant some malaysian variety and some area with thais variety... 30 trees alltogether ....and yes.. i lived just 30clicks away from the thai-malaysia border. go durian !!! yeah~
thai variety
- Nok kracip - 3yrs champion in a row in thai durian competition
- monthong
- phuangmanee
- ceni
malaysian variety
- the old favourites D24
- D197 the undisputed star the musang king
- Red prawn - the unknown awesomeness
- the upcoming hits , Ochee or some called it Duri hitam / Black Thorn
- and some nice local durians variety grafted with 3 rootstocks or more
Ariff Affendi I've never tried a properly ripped Durian. I feel like I'm really missing out.
Sounds like you have a pretty awesome planting! I'd love to visit one day.
Pete Kanaris GreenDreamsFL ... its like night and day , those ripened durian that fell off from tree in the night and ate em up that instance. its like a mouthfull goodness of awesomeness. mind you that some might knock you off sick for 3 days because it packs a punch id say. my advicem.. if anyone wanna try the ripened durian make sure mangosteen is at your disposal. those 2 fruits are like yin and yang. the equalibrium of nature in its finest.
the ripened monthong that knocks me off sick for 3 days because i dont have mangosteen ready and its to precious to skip the durian that day.
Does Costa Rican climate suit almond trees?
Slowed Hits maybe in the northern parts of Costa Rica.I don’t think it would do well in the jungle.
@@PeteKanarisGreenDreamsFL Thanks for clarifying man. You know your botany facts. 💯🌱🌸
New subs here pete... Have you visited philippines? Just curious... I wanna meet and greet you here in the philippines.. Pls
Hey Patricia! Thanks for following ❤️
No, I hope to visit maybe next year. I also wanna visit Thailand, Borneo and Malaysia.
@@PeteKanarisGreenDreamsFL wow thats nice.. But it will be last year.. Heheehe dont stop doing like these videos... Btw matt reece is so cute. Crush on him 😘😍
15.23 buah pecah pinggan.huhu
I have pulasan tree at my backyard but so difficult to get the fruits because the monkeys always eat them first..huh
Wow! Definitely jealous you can even grow pulasan. Maybe plant more to share with the monkeys? 🐒
Dont forgot Pulasan, Ciku, Dokong, Langsat, dragon fruit, cempedak, guava, sentul, Janggus, cermai, star fruit, rambai,
limau tambun, buah kundang, jambu susu, jambu air, markisa etc
How much times this the old guy say "umm umm umm" lmao🤣🤣🤣
Who the hell disliked this?
THE FRUIT UR HOLDING U MENTIONED LOOKS LIKE RAMBUTAN,,,IN MALAYSIA ITS CALLED "PULASAN"!!! D INSIDE FRUIT IS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT FROM RAMBUTAN,,,,ITS TOO SWEET N ALWAYS GETS ATTACKED BUT INSECTS N RED ANTS ,,,D TREE,,,
Interesting. Peter definitely grows rambutan and pulsan. He has quite the collection!
I have 100 tamarind seeds I wish someone would buy them from me. I'll probably just keep them I think their shelf life's 4 years. #tamarind #seeds
How do people live over there in jungle. This location looks like thick forest, are they not afraid of wild animals attack.
a please start using cooper gardening tools on the soil an land Forge your own if you have to. its so much better on your soul. im just telling you the truth. god bless
Why not produce lansones. Looks like Costa Rica will be the best place to prosuce lansones, sugar apple, sariguellas and other tropical fruits.
Hello! Peter Kring grows Lansones. It’s a great place to grow just about anything.
Only achacha fruit available to eat in this 30 yo food forest...ahh
the people would love to see different types of animals you encounter as well not just the guide/host. just sayin
Fhfufuj
I hope that’s good...
😂😂 Omg! Sorry about that! My phone was freezed, lol!
I wish I can live there. Enjoy your life man!🌿🌳🌺🍀🌞
Talks about production but hardly see any fruits.
It’s all about timing
