Russell's instincts and attitude towards the roles he passed over were correct. Really no point in doing mental gymnastics over what would never have been.
Jackman was the better choice for Wolverine. Though I far prefer Russell Crowe as an actor, he's not the athlete that Jackman is, not at his age.
And regarding Lord of the Rings, Peter Jackson was right about Viggo over Russell, Viggo's quiet demeanor was a better fit for the ensemble.
I think he could have worked well in Lord of the rings, but yeah not as wolverine IMO.
Russell still gives zero F's about Hollywood BS. One of my favorite Actors since "L.A. Confidential"

Man. I love this Howard these days. The old Howard with the hookers, porn stars, drunk dwarves, etc. was just tabloid bullshit radio. He's one the best interviewers ever and he really shines doing these interviews.

I would pay for a way to go through his back catalog of interviews, any tips would be massively appreciated!

Russell Crowe has gorgeous eyes and when i first saw him in the film Gladiator it was truly a heavenly moment. ❤️💚❤️. Also i wish he was still married to Danielle because I don't think he ever recovered from their breakup and he never seems to have found solace with any other woman that he has met since her.

Sadly, Master and Commander was produced by Miramax, the company formerly owned by that dipshit Harvey Weinstein. It's highly unlikely a second will ever be made. Better chances of a Hornblower film being made, which would be awesome.

Russell seems like such a good sport, he doesn't give a shit and the things he turned down, he had his reasons and stands by them...Good for him, just because something is worth a lot of money doesn't mean it's worth it to you...I get that completely!

Viggo and Hugh are good but as brilliant Crowe is, he could’ve also delivered a very memorable portrayal of both characters. Crowe is a versatile actor but he is at his best with drama/action type of movies.
