  • Online session at the Humanitarian Network Partnership Week 1 May 2024:
Addressing fire risks in displacement sites requires understanding of risk and a collaborative approach that may include improving infrastructure, promoting fire safety education and training, ensuring access to appropriate firefighting resources and supporting local emergency services. Collaboration, knowledge sharing and partnerships between humanitarian organisations, governments, and local communities are essential to effectively mitigate fire risks and enhance the safety and well-being of displaced populations.
This session explores thinking around fire safety in displacement sites and CCCM role in preventing and responding to fire emergencies. It will present outcomes from consultations from several country consultations, as well as show work on the latest iteration of the Fire Risk Index, a tool aimed at helping CCCM practitioners - Camp Managers, Cluster Coordinators, and others - assess overall level of fire risk within a displacement context.
