My implants have ruined my life. No solid food for 2 years. They aged me 10 years. My entire mouth, jaws, lips and even the roof are constantly being cut. The teeth are far too small for my mouth. I have had 5 sets! My teeth are always loose. The bottoms have come completely out several times. The specialist who did mine is located in South Carolina and I am in Texas. My lips weee cut intentionally during the procedure. I cannot find an implant specialist that will repair the damage for less than $25,000. It is a shame and disgrace that implant specialists lack compassion for patients who have suffered from the effects of something that was supposed to help me. I paid so much money for the procedure and it is the worst decision I have ever made in my life. It cost me my career, confidence and voice.

@reneegunn95 I was concerned having the surgery anywhere. It was scary to do this, but my options were limited. My wife was with me. They took good care of me. After the original surgery, I was drugged a bit by Valium or something, they drove me back to my hotel, and even took me to my room in a wheel chair. I was loopy. They really do know what they are doing.

I am an implant wearer, and just listening to all this should tell everyone just how much money really costs. The cleaning cost after you get the implants. And the hygenist told me my teeth and gums were great. She then asked if I saw a periodontist, I said no why. She said often with implants that can happen. More money, and was never told that either! I do like my implants, but anything I eat it sticks to all the teeth! Not great when eating out with friends. It is a long and sometimes painful process. So patience and money are necessary. Also was told how the teeth can break off, however have not had that happen. Best of luck.

I'm in the 4 month waiting stage for my implants. I'm also in Jax, and fortunately, as a veteran, the VA is paying. It will cost a total of $83k from beginning to end. So I understand how lucky I am to have this all paid for. I'm getting the hybridge and it's 5 pegs on the lower jaw and 6 on the top.
At 37, I never thought my teeth would deteriorate like they did. I'm excited to be able to smile and eat food again.

You are the main one that has gotten me thru & continues to thru this nightmare, aside from my wonderful husband, my kids & my mom 🥺 I'm 2 1/2 wks out fr having all my root canaled BOTH TOP & BOTTOM extracted- endured having all my teeth root canaled 6yrs ago in hopes of saving my teeth but ended up here anyways & literally everything & all I know n have learned this far has been thru you 💔 The surgeon & the one in charge of creating my temp denture & will be making my perm snap on dentures, neither communicate what so ever 😭😭😭😭😭😭 The amount of suffering I've endured, there are no words & still, as of now, I suffer immensely fr chewing even the softest of foods,,, anything harder is definitely out of the question!
After being tortured during the stitches removal (my mouth was covered in stitches, top & bottom- I then needed to return 2 days later for what I assumed was just 1 left behind (ended up being 4) but at my follow up appointment yesterday (6 days after my 2nd trip in for Stitch removal) I was complaining so much about being unable to even breath w/o agony- they dug another stitch out 😣
Anyways, unwilling to trust them at all,,, what was to be a one day under full anesthesia surgery for all removed turned into a massive nightmare of only being able to have the tops dome because surgeon changed plans & decided to use conscious sedation which we had advised him does not work on me (combined w all my teeth being root canaled which means far more difficulty extracting!)
I had to return 4 days later to have bottoms done under full general anesthesia 😢
I completely do not trust at all anymore & still need to have the screws uncovered for the final process 💔 don't know what I'm going to do but I have been entirely miserable w just these temp dentures 😢

    Hi there,
I watched all your videos and I want to say a “Big Thank You” for creating this content and sharing your story. At 40, I have to have all my teeth extracted and will have to wear dentures and that has always been my biggest fear, but I can’t continue living the way I have been living with gum recession, tooth pain and sensitivity because of the receding gums and gum disease, and not to mention loose bottom front teeth. It’s going to be a massive adjustment and huge learning curve but it will eventually get easier as my mouth will adjust to its new state. I want the snap in dentures but have to save for that, but will have the time available to me when I am wearing the immediate temporaries to aggressively save for quite possibly one of my biggest purchases and investment ever aside from university costs, etc. Lol. 😂
I can’t wait to have a second chance with straight and white false teeth and I know my confidence will boost and my mouth medical problems will eventually heal and go away with the proper treatments. Again, thank you and look forward to watching more content in the future. Cheers from Montréal, Canada!! 🙂

I have had my dentures for four years now and have contemplated implants but my insurance wouldn't cover them. I could pay cash but there are no guarentee's as to the results. I am comfortable with my dentures now. To begin with there is the mental thing you have to get over. When I realized I could now smile and eat and didn't have to shy away from people any more it wasn't that bad after all. I had a good surgeon so no problems there. Wouldn't dare let a dentist do it. I waited eight months for my mouth to heal before getting my permanent ones. I have never had anyone ask me if I had dentures and to this day I still have friends who don't know. Maybe I got lucky there and I feel for the people who have problems with theirs. Glad everything worked out for you and hope continued success with yours. You have beautiful eyes by the way...

@@hardluck112 I understand depression, try and find a really GOOD dentist, I found one on accident who didn't judge me, never gave me lectures, and was available to my entire family as dentist. He worked out a plan, it was between 4500-5000 usd, work was done in less than 2 years. I initially saw him for an abscess tooth. Just hang in there, I hadn't smiled (showing teeth, or what was left) in years, as soon as my work was complete my neighbor made me pose for pictures LOL!! Your friends will support you, children may ask questions (I worked in retail), but once I accepted me like that (front were broken and black, but no pain at all), I was able to move forward and take action. And, yes, I also am diagnosed with depression, so take care of that. I wish you all the luck and peace there is.

Hi Kristi, I just love your informative videos on your journey this past 10 yrs. I had bone grafting, 6 implants with a retaining bar fitted on the upper jaw with a removeable denture done back in 2013. I have never regretted having the work done after years of feeling self conscious about the look of my mouth with regular dentures that never fit and looked awful. The trouble is, I've had 3 different over denture replacements and each time I cannot get the denturist to understand and make them look more natural especially the front 6 teeth.. They always look 'boxy' like you mention plus I always feel I have the 'granny mouth' look everytime. Can I ask where you go in Las Vegas for your implant dentures? Are there any tips for advice you can give me to have a denturist make my denture look more natural eg what shape, designed look of the front teeth etc. I would be most grateful. Thanks Carol

Will use my mom as example. She is in her 70s. The dentist wanted my mom. To get dentures. She has some crowns and bridge. He said dentures were the affordable option. With less maintenance required for them. She didn’t want to do that. So she has had implants. Two have failed. The dentist charged her to remove. Failed implant and put in new one. Because my mother has no dental insurance. That cost $5,000 per implant. If she would have gotten dentures. She could have got top of line dentures for less then that. My husband is disabled so dentures are going to fine. I probably will get them online. Which is something you shouldn’t do. But for $300-$600 I will have dentures. If I do nothing the infection will go into. My blood stream and kill me. Alive with dentures lots better. Then dead and no dentures.

I have had my permanent dentures for 4 months and I hate the way they look. I’m in the uk and even tho I’ve paid for private treatment, the appointments are not freely available, so I’ve had to wait to see my dentist again. When the final impressions were taken back in May, a wax model of my permanent dentures were fitted for my approval. I said at the time that the teeth were too long and that I felt goofy in them. But my opinion was obviously ignored as my permanent set are as I feared. My own teeth were never big or long in length so why the dentist thought I’d adapt to them, I don’t know. I honestly wish I’d stayed with the temporary set. They felt like My old teeth and talking/eating were natural, along without the need for adhesive. So finally I saw my dentist last week and I think I’m getting another set made at his cost. He isn’t a bad guy at all and the fact that his patient waiting list is so long, reflects that. He made a strange comment asking me if I didn’t like the fuller feeling mouth!!! He was trying to be a beautician by making my face look younger with bigger teeth. Anyway, I’m getting it sorted I hope, but anyone reading this should speak out about anything they’re unhappy with before their permanent teeth are made.

I agree many will not experience issues but the very fact that there are implants into the bone heighten your chances of heart disease let alone just regular infection. I had all of my teeth removed 7 years ago and I was constantly being pressured to get implants. I was told my mouth is to small and dentures won't work well. I was told I will always need to use denture glue, I was told I would get soars etc etc .. I spent a lot of time and research and decided on dentures. I can say without a doubt that it is one of the best decisions I've ever made. My teeth look great, I don't ever have to use glue, I can eat anything except bit into an Apple but that's no biggie I just cut it up. I am against implants personally but to each their own. My opinion is that the dental industry is pushing implants because with implants you still need to see the dentist on a regular. With dentures I never have to go unless there's some gum issue which I've never had. Dentures have come a long way. I choose no maintenance over huge price tag and constant check ups and my teeth look perfectly natural.
