  • Established in 1996, the Aisling Center's main principle is to assist Irish immigrants in their transition to life in the USA. We do this by offering a number of services including legal, social, psychological and educational. The Aisling Center is one of the largest Irish immigrant resource centers in the tri-state area and the main provider of services for the elderly Irish and Irish-American community in Yonkers and Woodlawn. Please visit our services page to see all that we have to offer

The Woodlawn Aisling Center reminds me of the many U.S.O. s I visited on both coasts of the nation, also a few overseas, during the 4 years I was i the Marine Corps as a citizen of Ireland (an náisiün uile agus gach roinn de).

The Aisling Center is rather unusual in that it helps Irish people who are undocumented in the U.S. Since early childhood in Ireland, my family were always collecting for the African Missions and the Far East. Thank God for Aisling, which is a very good example of the Irish helping our own needy.Go maire Aisling go cdeo.

The video tells us that "Aisling" is an Irish word [taken from an Ghaeilge, an teanga oifigiúil de Stát na hÉireann] cé gur annamh a chuirtear an teanga i bhfridhm an Ghaeilge an lá atá inniu ann. Cén fáth?

I would like to know if there are any Catholic bishops who support the undocumented Irish who LEGALLY entered the U.S. on with visitors' visas, while those bishops are trying so hard to obtain permanent status for the millions who ILLEGALLY came here by way of our Southern border, including countless thousands who speak little or no English?

From 1984 to 1992, the Bronx Gaelic League held its Irish language classes, meetings and céilis in the PRESBYTERTIAN Church hall, having obtained permission from Belfast native Rev. Campbell Sheil. This was because the pastor of the local church REFUSED the use of his hall to the Gaelic League. To my knowledge, no official of the Dublin gov. ever attended any function of the Bronx Garlic League, an organization which is non-Partitionist and non-sectarian. An Ghaeilge abü. Go maire an teanga sin go deo, go brách, go hearr aimsire.

Is maith liom a closint to bhfuil an Ghaeilge a chur i bhfeidhn acu san Aisling. Mar is eol do chách, is beag an meas atá ag an gháthpolaiteoir ar an dteanga chéanna. ,
