YES. THANK YOU. Speak for us girlies who don't want the whole marriage and babies thing. I hate that almost every romance I pick up leads to that.
As if marriage, 2 kids and white picket fence is every woman's ultimate goal
YES FINALLY SOMEONE
I am so glad to see this. I’ve literally googled the fact that every single romance novel I pick up ends in them having a baby to see if anyone feels strongly about it, and I came to the conclusion that I must be the only person in the world who hates that and can’t relate
But finally, some feeling of inclusion
“drier than a thanksgiving turkey” and “personality of a hint water” were my personal favorites
Basically her top recommendations from this list are:
The Roughest Draft by Austin Siegemund-Broka
Part Of Your World by Abby Jimenez
Reputation by Lex Croucher
Falls Boys by Penelope Douglas
Hope this helped!
It honestly astounds me how Colleen hoover's books are always so highly rated, I've read like 5 books from her and they're all the same, cool concept, incredibly boring execution, and shitty men who do the bare minimum.
Exactly I feel like the readers only like Colleen Hoover because they're really young and havent expanded beyond her to know what's a good book
It's literally Wattpad. In fact, I've read better Wattpad books istg. Her male characters are shit and her writing is mediocre. Young teens read that and think it's peak romance/writing, i pity them
Fucking preach
true it ends with us was everywhere but when i read it , it wasn't even making any sense to me the main character lily was the problem then ryle
@@aliabbas-yg2qr how was lily the problem?
Your star ratings and summaries of these books is cracking me up 😂 great video! was just looking for a new romance to read! 😊
“Personality of a hint water” oh my god you are the gift that just keeps on giving
I feel like this video should end in a standing ovation - you were *on fire*. Amazing rating system and energy, will watch again for serotonin \o/
thank you so much! it was really fun to film
Who else is just WAITING for her I read the longest books on my tbr video 😂😂
tuesday bestie
You’d be an AWESOME editor. I’d love to read the books authors could come out with after you critique and find tune them 😍
Omg yesss!!!! I always thought that, she should do it sometime!
Hook, line and sinker was one of favorites of this year, I honestly loved it and thought that it was so much better than the first one
every time you post a list video i am just completely in awe by how much time and effort goes into them !!! these are always such top quality videos because of it
I love how this video made me laugh so much my roommate is asking me if I am ok
lmaoooo
Every time a witch book came up I was like "oh no" 😂
Can we get more books with a guy that's more "funny" and maybe dad bod than wash board abs, this is a trope I would probably kill for
literally about to cry happy tears at how much i needed this one! i love your content so much, every upload day is a happy day!! 💌
The dedication to reading all of these. The ratings. The wit!!! ❤
I just love the way you rate the books in these videos!
It always makes me happy when you say you liked Reputation because I sometimes feel like I'm the only one. And Part of Your World is one of my faves ❤️
ur videos r honestly so comforting they're my go to for whenever I'm feeling particularly anxious or stressed :)
SLAYYY one of my favourite types of videos from you!!!! love this
This video ROCKS 😊🎃 So much needed. It’s overwhelming trying to decide which romances are worth your time between KU and traditional romances ❤ Would love to see more of these 🎉
This rating system is a 10/10
I LOVE how fast you speak thank you
Yeah, I don’t get the hype over the Good Girl Complex.
I'm removing so many books from my tbr thanks to this
ngl the plot for By the Book reminded me of Bojack Horseman and it made me laugh my ass off because never did I think I'd picture Bojack as a romance hero 🤣
Haha these ratings are iconic 😂
I find your candor and critical thinking refreshing. While other romance reviewers seem to be lovely and passionate about books, there's been many a recommendation that felt either overhyped or just not deserving. Your articulateness when explaining the strengths and weaknesses of each book seemed both concise and precise. Subbed!
I am truly so excited about this 😍
I can’t imagine how much effort you put into these videos, but it definitely pays off. I enjoyed playing this video while I deep cleaned my room. Definitely got me through it :)
Instant subscribe! ❤ this is my first video by you, and I am already a fan! Love your humor! 😂
THE PASSION she has for how bad these were 😂😂😂😂
No because the 3rd act conflict in Count Your Lucky Stars made my eyes roll all the way back into my head. It was wild. And thank you for reading all these and letting me know what I should spend my time reading!
the amount of time and effort to produce this video omg... respect!! love your star ratings and summaries omg🤣🤣
THIS VIDEO IS EVERYTHING 😭❤
I hated and DNF'd league of gentlemen witches. I also could not get over the flying houses. The dialog was just so ridiculous
“The personality of a Hint water” that took me the fuck out omg 😂 the commentary is top notch
I just didn't give a flying house 💀
I'm three minutes into this video and have subscribed. Great content, great delivery.
I love these videos they’re always so fun
Loved the reviews. Thanks 🤣 I really needed this.
Your level of sass and sarcasm in this video... 12/10 🤣🤣🤣
you have the perfect voice for video essays and I'm here for it
I love your explanations honestly
THANK YOU FOR THE BOOK LOVERS REVIEW, i’ve been needing someone to agree that it’s not sexy or fun so that I don’t go insane!!!
I subscribed for romance content but honestly stayed for the humor. Can’t get enough of your videos even I don’t care about any of the books being posted about hahaha
first time viewer here. heard the phrase "daddy bezos" 30 seconds in and immediately subscribed
Finally! All these books everyone thinks are so great, and I can barely make it through. I loved the Roughest Draft. Will definitely pick up Part of your world!
Love your videos so much 🥰
good god the puns and euphemisms are NEXT LEVEL in this video. in your next life, please be a high profile attorney for a televised fallen-from-grace celebrity trial.
lmao the only reason i have this channel is because i DIDN'T become an attorney ;)
I needed this video, I need more good romance books!!
Part of your World was indeed amazing
Where have you and your reviews been all my life?!?! 😍
I loveddddd Part of Your World! One of my favorite reads this year. I love Abby Jimenez’s work
I’ve been trying to slog through Husband Material….I’m starting to feel more and more that I should just DNF it 😂
These are my favourite videos of Chandler, I always laugh way too hard.
I LOVE how BRUTAL this is 😭😭😭😭😭
Yes!!! Someone else who was not down with Delilah being so childish in Delilah Green! I so wanted to love that book but I was constantly wanting yell “just grow up already!!!” 😭
Same !
I can’t argue about reminders of him, I loved it
“If you’ve ever wanted to have sex in a haunted house-“ Say less
You SPOIL us ❤❤❤
So fun to see a book by Lex Croucher! I used to watch their CZcams videos back in the day, excited to see that they're writing!
They have others too! Infamous just came out and their first YA (which is queer!) is out soon afaik
I did kinda enjoy a letter to three witches however I didn't really see it as a romance. It kind of felt more like a cozy mystery but it was a 3 star for me.
BRILLIANT! You are brilliant- so hilarious
New comfort video
How am I just now discovering you??? I love you personality! 😂
Loved watching this video 🤣 LoL at the way you give Stars in this video 🧡
firstly, this was hysterical and clever. secondly, a lady for a duke remains my best book of the year, so any mention of it gives me intense joy.
I read Part of Your World because of your recommendation in an earlier video and omgee I adored it so much!
i'm so glad!
Have you ever read the Night World series? It's basically 9 romance books that intertwine with eachother about witches, vampires and werewolves and I personally think it's amazing
i read some of those back in middle school :)
I love all your ratings. 😂If you want to try a witch romance I'd recommend the Stay a Spell series by Juliette Cross if you haven't tried them yet. Plus the new book in the series comes out October 31. If you have tried them and didn't like them I said nothing.
"Dreams are meant to be crushed under the boot of the rich white man" xD
My favorite Elle Kennedy book is The Dare. It has the cutest of meet-cutes in my opinion. Maybe you'll find the leads a bit shallow, but, at least they have being young as an excuse. I also liked the other Briar U and Off-Campus books. Some stand out more than the others, but a good series nonetheless.
this was so freaking fun
Chandler I love your like lines that you say😂 so funny😂
SO with you on the marriage of convenience plots. They just don't do it for me, and I feel like more often than not, it's an excuse to let the characters have sex earlier in the book. I know rules were stricter back in the day, but get creative.
Read the stay a spell series!! Witchy romances that don't suck at all - fun, light-hearted, sweet and sexy 10/10 would recommend!
Loveeeee the Part of your world !!!❤❤🎉😊
I love Lillian Lark's Monstrous Matches series which are mostly witch romances. Kathryn Moon's series the Librarian's Coven are witch romances too. I haven't read them since Kathryn Moon is hit or miss for me, but people seem to like them.
30:06 it delights me that an og youtuber made it onto this list
Your Emily Henry review has me💀💀😂
Idk if you’ve tried the all souls trilogy yet, but it might help break your witch romance curse. Not the steamiest but an awesome world and magic system
41:07 - I feel this criticism, so much! I have felt that same exact away about too many different fictional relationships.🙃😅😅👀
It bothers the heck out of me when characters pressure other characters to live their own lives[ or truths] differently .. for any reason, really..but especially when it's just because of their sexuality, as if every person of any particular sexuality or anything else must always check certain boxes[ _other_ than just you know being that &/or having that sexuality] or else they are somehow not that-particular-thing enough, or whatever.😐
Thanks for the heads up!
Definitely something good to know to be mindful of and measure my expectations accordingly to if I ever do read this book[ like I thought I might one day do]. 🙂😁
Not you explaining Part of Your World plot and me thinking "wow I don't remember writing a memoir"...
Go Hex Yourself by Jessica Clare is a really good witchy romance if you're still willing to give them a chance 😂 I don't see it talked about all too often but it's my personal favourite!
This video was literally so awesome and funny-I never find someone who shares my same views on books lmao
The Family Spells by CM Stunich is a good witch romance! It is indie published, though
The video I didn't know I needed.
im not even halfway through and im cackling so hard
I just feel like I’m reminders of him their reason to stay together and their attraction wasn’t just on looks and sex but their shared love for her daughter
Lol I love the star ratings 😂
Immaculate rating system
I adore Lex Croucher so much.
This was great! Adding all five of those favorite recommendations to my TBR!
Your sassiness in those rank videos and your cracking ratings made my day! 44 minutes with a genuine smile on my face!
44 minutes of me smiling. Thank you, Chan! 💗
The ratings are killing me😂
I’m trying to get into romance because of FOMO haha but I’m usually a fantasy reader, so this video is very helpful
