Mando is truly a dad now, he's busting out the dad jokes.
He found that pun book by Will Livingston
@@Gunnhfran2multiverse of pedro
Dad Jokes are obviously a requirement in Pedro's Daddyverse
Using the term “bust”…. Created your own dad joke there 😂
This is the way!
Grogu looked so offended being called a bad baby 😂
Since Din has to redeem himself by bathing in the sacred waters of Mandalore, I imagine water plays a role in the ceremony of joining the Creed.
I mean the armorer was going to put water on the initiate before the whole space gator attack
The opening swerve with the non-flashback was so brilliantly done!
For the first minute maybe, but I dont know how anyone still thought it was a flashback the moment they showed Paz (and the Armorer not sounding any younger, but thats a bit trickier)
Brilliantly done? Are you joking? That whole first 5 mins was a joke. They made the Mandos look like weak fighters when they’re suppose to be the best fighters. Nothing they did even scratched the alligator lol. What a joke
My son saw the Purrgil before I did... and was like "Dad they were with Ezra! Is Ezra in this?" 😁
9:55 _Please_ let there be a High Magistrate Greef Karga wandering around Disneyland Galaxy's Edge with little cape droids.
We all heard "pirate" and we all thought Hondo
“I trust this show to have the payoff” yeah, the finale’s of these shows are pitch perfect 👌
11:04 Well, actually Nevarro now looks a lot like it's modelled after Galaxy's Edge and Hondo owns Batuu. He comes up on stages and gives speeches to the crowd
Pretty sure it's been two years in universe as well since the last season which explains how the Armourer was able to reformed a new Mandalorian enclave along with the massive development we see with Nevarro City from Season 1 to Season 2 and finally Season 3 becoming this beautiful city over the course of three seasons. Also Purrgil finally in live action, Space Whales for life and a clear connection to what we last saw in Rebels.
Plus, implied Bo-Kata's crew went over when she lost the darksaber
It was 2 years of training until grogu went back to mando
Why would Din wait 2 years to start trying to "atone" for taking off his helmet. My guess is this is set right after we see him leave in Book of Boba Fett where Grogu wants him to press the "go fast" button.
@@Troop3r666 He hasn't just started trying to atone. He didn't go to Mandalore because it presumably is toxic (which is what he's trying to figure out) so he was looking for evidence that the mines were still there. This is how he got the Crystalized piece of writing, during his search for information. Mando has already been looking for ways to get to the mines and atone, it just so happens that he hasn't been successful, at least till he got the writing from that one guy he mentions.
Favreau clarified he meant two years out of universe. So we still don’t know how long Grogu trained with Luke
So glad Mando is back! Grogu wanting Bobu Frick for a pet, hilarious. My feel good show is back!
I think the water ritual is more of a bravery thing. Like knowing it's there is part of it and showing you're not afraid to stand there and receive your helmet.
I get you, but in that case, why would they kill it? If they have sacred water on Mandalore, it might be more like a baptism.
it's entirely possible they just recently started living on this planet and didn't know the creature was there at all.
@@JessAnderson1988 That's how I saw it.
That's a good interpretation. That would example how she knew what to listen for.
Would definitely be a fun way to explain why Mando showed up that exact moment.
"Yep. The yearly slaughter is right on time"
On Bo, I think also she’s over the dark saber. There was a lot of bitterness in her voice when she was talking about why her force left her and the way she said they’d follow him it’s almost like she’s starting to feel their ties to those rituals impede what’s really important. This is an interesting curve in her arc. When we meet her first she’s with a group that violently believes the Mandolorians aren’t respecting tradition enough
I'm with Jay--Bo Katan always seemed to me to have an undercurrent of mild contempt/condescension towards Din ("my slightly slow country-cousin"). Why isn't she challenging him right here and now? Unless...Din's reputation is starting to get around. This Mando stood shoulder-to-shoulder with *Black K* and *Boba Fett* ...and they _outshot an entire crime cartel._
A body might think twice about messin' with that sort of heat...🤔
Anyone else feeling slight "antagonist/villain vibes" off of Bo???
@@MarcusMapua I'm betting that the Living Waters aren't what's under the Civics Center, but instead Katan's setting up Din to confront something dangerous.
@@GSUShane might be multiple spots with the living waters, but she's totally sending him into a spot nobody comes back from. My guess is it's a mythosaur
@@MarcusMapua 100% She disarmed him, asked where and when he would be, if he still had what she wanted. Then warned him, said if he went he wouldnt come back and then gave a menacing Good Bye. Glad someone else picked up on it. Bo is playing everyone
Anyone else getting the feeling this season will be building up Grogu becoming the second mandolorian Jedi?
Ive been begging for this since we first saw Grogu
nah
@@SomeKindaSpy I'd think maybe build to that at the end of Season 4
Greef looks like Apollo Creed walking to the ring before a fight. Totally here for it.
Adam: oohh!! this is the past!
Jay: This is the past.
Peaches at home: This is the past.
Also, space bar mitzvah and grapes. Jay was on fire today xD
I love this episode. Nothing crazy happens, just collecting side quests before the adventure. Reminds me of season 1, but in a good way.
Well Season 1 entirely is a good way because This Is The Way.
Also what do you mean nothing crazy happened? Mandalorians vs Space Gators and A full on Space Astroid Battle in 1 episode is more then crazy. That is like both S1 Episode 6 and S2 Episode 1 combined!
Yeah I didnt mind it either. Its the peace before the storm, catch up with all the characters so we dont have to later on.
The only bad thing about the episode is that i’m not going to be able to afford all those mandalorian action figures.
Glad to see Disney is doing a Marvel/Star Wars crossover with Ebony Maw as a space pirate!
That’s what I thought too!
Looked like Gorr the God Butcher from the comics. Almost exactly.
And his boss, OLD GREG
When Jay said space doozers it all just clicked. That's an amazingly perfect description.
Don't worry Adam, I got the "Bust em up" pun. Well done sir.
Hands down. The best joke of the episode.
The Purrgil!!!! I’m so excited for the rebels stuff slowly starting to seep in. Cant wait for them to show up soon, hopefully we’ll get a glimpse of Sabine and maybe even Ezra in this season too!
I almost screamed when I saw their shapes
Yeah, I was excited when I saw them, too! Yay!
"Space Doozers" OMG... yeah, that's... that's pretty accurate.
We may See Sabine but I think they will save Ezra for the Ahsoka series along with Thrawn
That opening was a great way to kick off Season 3
Jay talking about GUTS and the Agro Grag was chef kiss. Love this show.
The comment I was looking for I can stop scrolling now. Chefs kiss indeed! I watched the Shit out of that show!
Wow, they’ve invested hard core in the puppets! Love it 🎉
What are you talking about? They looked terrible
I watch basically all the reaction videos of these Star Wars shows and you guys take the cake, love the references throughout they crack me up and you let eachother enjoy it so well, big ups boys
I just finished watching the epsiode and then immediately opened CZcams to see if you guys had uploaded and you had while I was watching! Fabulous timing.
Me too! lol
Two things:
1. I really look forward to the, "RIiiiiffffffff," part.
2. Whenever I watch these shows I'm always thinking about how y'all are gonna react, as the story is unfolding.
We've waited forever for season 3, and it's only 38 minutes long? What a slap in the face!
Maybe the scene with the young kid Mandalorian was a hint that dinn never fully completed the oath like how the kid was cut off by the attack. So maybe a loop hole to get back in after he comes up empty handed on mandalore
I was watching this with my partner just as the episode dropped and said as soon Grogu was looking out of the canopy in hyperspace, I said "It'd be cool if he sees something alive in hyperspace." When they appeared, she paused it and says "you sure you haven't seen this before?" Haha
It’s been just over 2 years since the last season and it was worth the wait because DIN IS BACK BABY!!!
I love that we are learning more about Mandalorian society, how even though they have been around since before the Jedi they are also incredibly fragmented, and also kind of fickle. They should’ve followed Bo-Katan! She is not only of royal blood but also the best person to lead her people. But unfortunately too many Mandalorians follow different and almost outdated ways. The Children Of The Watch are far too conservative and traditional to look past removing their helmets, no matter the circumstances. For God’s sake he just saved his people from a giant space crocodile and they still shun him. Meanwhile the “regular” Mandalorians are so attached to the myth of a single legendary weapon that even though they know Bo is a worthy leader they still only follow the wielder of the Darksaber. Honestly I think Din should either expand his own clan beyond just him and Grogu or just take up Greef Karga’s offer and be the new marshal of Navarro.
On a brighter note, seeing the Purgill aka hyperspace whales was amazing and Grogu hugging the little droid smith was SOOOOO CUUUUUUUUUTE!!!
Scene with the Mandalorians fighting the monster and Grogu looking at purgils in the hyperspace were the highlights for me,great start of the new season :)
watching mando be a dad is hysterical! "baby" yoda has become "toddler" yoda!
Ezra was feeding Bo Katan grapes and hid behind the throne when Din Djarin arrived.
It's so great watching Jay react to Mando with dad filter activated!
Guys, you forgot there's always end credit art.
Also, great episode. And I love they used so many actual puppets and not cgi. Also, the space wales are back in these 'waters'.... soooo....
Bo Katan said goodbye in a very weird tone like she knows what's waiting on Mandalore. Mando suits looking shaaaaarrrppp.
I thought the same thing. It seemed very strange.
Anyone else feeling slight "antagonist/villain vibes" off of Bo???
@@MarcusMapua
I'm really getting more "I've been trying to fix Mandalore since before the Empire existed, and the main problem has always been Mandalorians who are more loyal to some weird Jedi sword than to people. I'm just so done with this crap" vibes.
@@MarcusMapua well they already kinda set up for it in the las season final
I nearly had a panic attack and was tearing up when the Purrgil appeared. If I saw Ezra riding one of them I would have lost it, also Grogu was acting as our proxy hugging them little droid smiths 🤣
Riightt?? The Purrgil reference was sooo god damn huge!
Don't misuse "panic attack"...
@@Nekotaku_TV lol
In the beginning the banner with the branch on it is the symbol of Clan Vizsla. It showed it Rebels when everyone bends the knee to Bo-Katan
To be honest, Boba Fett's original theme, which you hear in Empire, is on a bassoon.
The Armorer's long pause after Din said he'd be redeemed has me side-eyeing her. At some point either Bo-Katan or Din are going to try to reunite all the Mandos (maybe to reclaim Mandalore) and I don't think the Armorer has any interest in that. I like that she's still pretty morally gray to us, because so is Bo-Katan when you look at her whole life. Makes them interesting characters.
As someone who has watched the RE play throughs more times than I’d like to admit, I immediately thought “oooh, better watch out for that gator” in Jay’s southern RE7 accent.
Meet Bo-Katan, the Mandalore Fisher Queen.
I am LOVIN’ the new energy Jay, muuuuch more tolerable; keep it up boy!
So glad this show is finally back. So many weeks of exciting storytelling and speculation to look forward to! Vahoo!
Space Dooziers...perfect!!! The ONLY thing I wished is if Boba would've given Mando a thank you gift after the events on Tatooine and we could've seen Din use a seismic charge or two in the asteroid field. Would've been a tough fit in that tiny ship, but would've been great!
That pirate captain looked like if Pizza the Hutt was a salad 🤣🤣🤣
"Space Doozers." I never made that connection, but that's hilarious!
Jay's comment on Greef's cap killed me. 😂I'm so happy the show is back after a long wait!
Greef Karga with the new drip, even had some drip Droids carrying his cape.
YES!! I would love to see Corran Horn in live action. My favourite character from nearly all the old fiction around Starwars. There I was thinking folks had forgotten.
I totally thought that was a flashback too. And I’m with Jay…team run away from the scary giant alligator maybe?
Adam's face can be so animated, that you pause & laugh for no reason, THIS IS HIS WAY
This show is EVERYTHING Star Wars should have been since Disney took over
I was hoping Hondo was with the pirates too. And Grogu hugging the anzelans was hilarious and so cute. He is absolutely part cat. But we knew that. I loved Din’s epic entrance and him teaching him navigation stuff. That first scene was awesome! I thought it was Din or Grogu at first too. And I feel like that Bo conversation foreshadowed Din’s arc this season.
The moment Din Djarrin went: „Never trust pirates“, I just turned to my wife and did my Hondo impression „I AM inSULted.“
Lol! Can we please get him in live action? Yhat’d make me so happy.
Babies and Toddlers are well know for hugging things they like, not cats.
I know. I was refering to him squeezing into the cockpit to cuddle with Mando while he slept.
Totally thought the beginning was a flashback as well Adam!
The episode was sooo short! Needed more! 😢
The child initiation caught me off guard, I thought it was a flash back
I think everyone did and that was the point
@@Gunnhfran2I thought it was kinda sloppy, what was the point of the misdirect
@@MagicalSkyWizard it’s like the guys said is it gearing up for grogu to get his first helmet and initiation
Me too
her good bye to Jin sounded ominous, also it looked like she was texting something, like letting her forces know to attack him or at least where he'll be.
There was definitely something suspicious in her attitude
Eddy Murphy, Trading Places - 'when I was young if we wanted bubbles in the tub, we'd have to fart'
Hi, we’re Grandiose Ennui! All we need is a one word suggestion to get started!
High Magistrate Karga appears.
And somewhere in the galaxy, Lando Calrissian suddenly feels a bit inadequate with his silk shirt and little cape.
Adam: JAY! THE SPACE WHALES FROM REBELS!!!
Jay: meh.
Meanwhile in Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 6:
Darth Vader: Anakin is gone...I am what remains.
Jay: *bawling*
Adam: *silent but comforting*
I love the dichotomy between you two!
a Nickelodeon Guts reference just made my whole day. Can we get Mo explaining the Mando rules and doing the recap at the start of each episode?
7:07 Truly thoutht this was going to turn into "Do do do do you have it?"
I was SO excited to see Adam's reaction to the Purrgil!!!
The gator was their tribute to Betty White.
What both of you are failing to understand is that Pelli Motto turned that Naboo Starfighter into a Hamster Tunnel for Grogu! LOL Oh, and someone else said it....but...your "Cape Robots" are "ROBE-OTTS". Pirate Captain Sigmund the Sea Monster
Okay so my theory is at the very end of the season Din is captured.
And Grogu has to find his way back to auntie Ahsoka, gets a lightsaber. Learns a bit about the force and then communicates to her the need to go get his father.
And then that's where the Ahsoka show starts.
I don't know. Maybe that's wild..
So excited for the 3rd season I’ve missed seeing your guys reaction to this show!!!
I was totally waiting for you guys to make the video!!! A great episode. Easily a strong 8/10
I thought the ceremony was a flashback too and thought it was going to be important that it was interupted before the kid could vow not to remove his helmet.
I also first thought that was Din's initiation at the beginning, but then I realized that that kid was waaay to white to be Din Djarin lol
Also, this episode has cemented the lesson that you should NEVER get into a dogfight with a Mandalorian while you're in an asteroid field
"This is a good maneuver!"
I laughed waaaay too hard at that.
_I like how ‘ole Greg is now a Star Wars villain_
You ever drink blue milk from shoe?
The the beginning of S3! You guys are great!
“Um actually, it’s a bass recorder” 😎
3:32 That's Wesley Kimmel, Jimmy Kimmel's nephew. He first played the Tusken boy that Boba saved.
Also I think she didn’t try to take the saber because in her mind she thought it wasn’t worth it/didn’t really mean anything. Like she said if you have it people will do whatever you want. But the unspoken implication was it doesn’t mean they’re truly loyal to you. She needs Sabine to boost her confidence again. I also like your theory about Din needing to be rescued this season. The creators did say their power dynamic would start to shift. But I wonder how Grogu would take the lead? Maybe Din’s moment of trouble is public and lots of people see. Or maybe only Grogu and Bo or another ally witness it and tell other people and Grogu somehow communicates an idea for a rescue plan. Or he’s just so sad and dejected that the other Mandos take pity on him and help.
The pirate king Gorian Shard is voiced by Nonso Anozie who played “Big Guy” in Sweet Tooth
I missed you guys doing Mando reacts so much ♥️ welcome back! That said, Andor was amazing stuff watching with you two
13:49 "bust-ed him up" was the pun I immediately came up with too, it's better then the "using your head line
Guys, I subscribed to your Channel way back when Mandalorian first started I believe. I have enjoyed and followed your reactions over the seasons. I just went through the whole list again getting ready for season 3. I have to admit that starting with the Boba Fett chapter 5 review, and continuing with this new review for chapter 17, as much as I love your reviews I am so done with the theme songs that you recreate with your voices.
3:34 that's exactly what I thought.
8:05 Adam, I knew you would understand! I had the same reaction! We've gotten Live action Purrgils!!
9:05 That would probably be pretty expensive.
10:13 A little gaudy for my taste, but I get it.
11:08 Hey, we get random pirates before we get Hondo. that is the way.
13:46 so brilliant!
15:28 I'm not a car guy at all, but yeah, that baby humms!
15:46 so well timed!
17:33 Now that is a cool looking ship!
18:35 Indeed a good looking castle
19:06 I love how you can spot a fellow Critter!
Will Bo Katan be a antagonist? will she be an ally? Will Mando (Din) rally the Watch to a reclamation of Mandalor? this is going to be interesting!
Boy, I'm glad this show is back!
Bro Fr broke down his thoughts and opinions piece by piece ong
Imagine if Din finds the ceremonial waters beneath the mines AND becomes Mandalore. He could go ahead and take his helmet off whenever he wants to and then just bop down to the mines for a quick dip in the water to wash away his transgression. #CreedHacks
If Din becomes the new Mand’alor, I think he’d be able to do it anyways; as the Mand’alor is the person who can completely change Mandalorian culture on a whim, like Jaster Mereel did with the True Mandalorias
@@clone3786 Maybe. The remnants of Death Watch seem to have gone rogue though, since it seems like they came up with the whole 'never take your helmet off' thing without any orders from a Mand'alor.
Bo is definitely playing the antagonist this season and I’m here for it!
Also so exciting seeing the Purgill!
I don't know its really hard to tell. For example Din's Djarins Faction cares nothing about the dark saber, but Bo's Faction does. Bo's faction care nothing about taking their helmets off but Din's Djarins Faction does. As of right now the Dark Saber does not seem like a ultimate way to bring Mandalorian' s together because all the factions were united under the planet. Not by tradition. The Mandalorian creed existed way before the Dark Saber came into existence. And united under the saber has failed to protect the planet. I think Proving the city can be saved is probably what will unite them all.
I can't wait for some guy to Cosplay Greef with his cape robots.
Great reaction as always . I loved this episode . definitely agree on it being smooth and easy. Been waiting for this season . Can't wait til next week! THIS IS THE WAY
In Legends, Mandalorian ships were some of the toughest around because they often used Bes'kar alloys in their construction. Since it was such a rare metal and so hard to work with, however, their ships tended to be VERY expensive.
Like the F-35 Lighting II fighter - A TRILLION Dollars for the entire development and deployment of a few dozen squadrons over a decade or two - expensive.
Hence, they were very rare, or were cheaper versions made with things like Durasteel and so not quite as insanely tough.
When I saw this video drop I went "This is that good good"
what a clever, ever so subtle slip in of a Rebels reminder! It's like the ultimate little tease for those who know the Purrgil association w Star Wars! Filoni strikes again!
Exactly! Such a beautiful reference for those more knowledgeable and enthusiastic fans. I was losing my shit over it for real.
I was so hoping that lil helmet being made at the beginning was for Grogu. Did you all notice Grogu is wearing his chainmail shirt under his robe?!
They had Guts, Global Guts and now we have Galactic Guts 😂
Opening scene: Guns didn't do much damage, tactics not visible. This Mandalorians are in desperate need of leadership.
In some of the last Legends novels, Boba Fett commissions Beskar star fighters after a huge new vein of it is found on Mandalore.
Live action Hondo already exists. He is the one who sends you on the smuggling run for the Millennium Falcon ride at Disneyland.
14:30 Ahhh the lovely little merchandise from the movies :P
I'm wondering when Grogu will say his first word!
My son was like, "That's a creekside baptism in Florida"
