- Tom Araya decided to drop by www.musicminds.ie in Dublin to see if he could find a new musical instrument to jam on. After much deliberation, he settled on a mandolin. I think you can agree he has found his true calling in music. Irish jigs will never sound the same to us again hahaha. Thanks so much for buying from my store and making my staffs day. The mans a legend.

My old bass player met Tom at the airport when he was leaving our city . He sat and talk with him for over half an hour. He said that he was a really laid back chill guy. Tom even asked if he wanted to take a pic with him when he had to go. I love hearing stories like that.

Not a bother to ya Tomás! Legend, met him walking the streets of Dublin back many years ago on one of Slayer's many visits here looking for record stores worth rootin' in. He duly went and visited a friend of mine's shop around the area we were in and left a good few bob behind the counter picking himself up a nice pile of wax in the process!
Slayer always enjoyed their trips over here and it wouldn't be strange to see any of them hanging out and rambling around the city happily chillin and chatting to any fans they'd run into....
He's a really sound guy. Would have loved to see more.

Slayer stayed at the hotel I worked at in 2019 when they played their Edmonton shows. Nobody knew who they were but everyone knew I did and I was freaking out over it. I wasn't a server but I got called to deliver Tom's breakfast the next morning so I could meet him. He was super cool about meeting a fan even though he was in his pjs. Welcome back SLAYER!!!!!!!!

Brilliant and have to say best music shop by a mile in Dublin walked in last Thursday and have to say staff were so helpful and answered all the questions I needed to ask johno was very helpful with the items on offer in the shop will defo be back up again

Peter Steele of Type O Negative/Carnivore/Fallout/Aggression was the same way too. Peter played the guitar left handed in his first band, but he couldnt afford a left bass in Aggression and bought a right handed after being threatened to be kicked out and hes play right since his death. God, gotta love these bass players!
You Damn Right about that point Man, I'm a Lefty, and could NOT get over it first holding a Righty guitar in 92 at 12 years old. I could do way more turning it over with the strings upside down and my old ass parents finally got it through their heads and got me a Lefty Floyd Rose locked tune Bentley Series 10 that I have to this day. But oddly, I was totally comfortable on my drums as a Right-hander plays. I couldn't play with a hihat set up to the right side of a snare to save my life 😎🚬 itellya
