Every sport has that one player that is known for their outspoken nature. In Formula 1, Nelson Piquet serves as a prime example. Despite his incredible racing skills, his rude language and racial remarks have turned his own fans against him, casting a shadow over his career! Let’s get to know more about it.
Nelson Piquet was born on August 17, 1952, in Rio de Janeiro. His father had high hopes for him to become a tennis star. Piquet took up tennis at the age of 11 and showed promise, winning tournaments in Brazil before challenging himself against tougher competition in California. It was during this time in the United States that he learned English and matured quickly.
However, tennis didn't quite fit Piquet's ambitions, so he turned to racing. At 14, he began karting, using his mother's last name "Piquet" to keep his racing identity a secret from his father, who was initially opposed to his racing pursuits. In 1974, he left engineering school and worked in a garage to fund his racing dreams since his family did not financially support him.

Piquet remains a favourite . Fantastic driver and a guy who perhaps said things others were afraid to say . Usually , the true F1 fans heold him in high regard , very technical driver and loved amidst his teams .

Piquet has always been a correct driver on the track and very nice outside the cockpit.
Someone accustomed to always saying what he thinks, without pretenses and hypocrisy.
A real man; it was not for nothing that he was a close friend of Niki Lauda, who was his teacher.
A completely different story compared to today's freeze-dried and tasteless drivers.

Piquet is no doubt the greatest and it was probably too annoying being compared to so many back markers
