I heard that people that removed that support peice have destroyed gears cause the motor will flex and cause the gear mesh to fail and destroying the gears
Now you'll be able to rotate a full double backflip 😉 Seems like they engineered it just for one specific pair of gears. There's never enough wiggle room in these RC's, it seems. Great content, as always, Earl!
Nice video Earl we stripped our spur on its second run trouble is here in the uk we can not buy a replacement spur or even the optional speed spur until the end of may seems the most important part at the moment is not around 🤦🤦

My SLUDGE motor screws are perfectly straight . . . . cause they're sitting in a box somewhere in a wearhouse awaiting shipment to someone else's house😂🤣
I ordered 18/46 Pinion/Spur. So i can keep the motor at the same place and just swap the pinion and spur without any movement of the motor or modification right?
Earl It looked like the pinion or motor shaft was hitting your Esc/motor connectors. Might double check so they don’t get caught in the gears.( At the end of vid looked like they were clear)
I haven't seen this video in it's entirety but I just wanted to say that I have been stripping spurs and pinions with mine. Let me see what you talking about here...
I did mine up to the max gearing because you don't have to remove the little 13/52 piece of plastic that keeps your motor in place and keeps it meshed for the stock gearing if you put 18 pinion 46 spur you don't need to remove that and it mesh's perfect the problem is that it likes cogging a little bit so when it goes to take off those dog bones eat into those drive cups and my truck is basically brand-new and it already needs drive cups off the center diff and I just put the new gears on it yesterday and they were perfectly fine just a little bit of cogging and clunking cuz it not wanting to take off right away I don't know why Traxxas recommends that gearing if the fucking truck just sits there and jerks it won't even go in reverse for fucksake it literally will not backup with that Gearing unless I give it a little boost with my foot it takes right off or if it's on a hill and I go to backup then it takes off cuz the meshing is perfect I mean perfect it rolls and rolls and rollsI don't know why they would put that on the box only reason why I did the gearing the way I did instead of the 16 46 I did the 18 46 because you don't have to remove that stupid little meshing piece of plastic for when it's factory and it has the 13 52
Yes.8 is supposed to be the same stock xmaxx runs the 18t and says mod .8 most of the gears don’t mesh correctly run traxxas gears and as you see screws bent and I had to prey both time to get mesh correct

To use that motor mount mesh block you have to go 18t pinion with 46t spur same mesh as 13t 52t spur.

I believe. 8 mod and 32p are more comparable than mod 1. Like arrmas 3s line to the 6s line . Hope it works out for you. 👍

Same pressed gear on the spur but it’s the gears installation and gear most are using in my opinion from what I keep seeing

I like the car. But the motor mounting needs to be vastly improved by traxxas eng. Maybe on the next revision they will get it right.
They only want certain gears used to not blow up the esc 👍👍
