I wired in and installed the subwoofer and amplifier into my volkswagon gti 2011. It is a mark 6 today which turned out to be very easy i hope you guys enjoy the tutorial and it helps you with future projects
thanks man. great video, zero fluff.
I really appreciate you taking the time to document the install. Helped me to install a sub in my 2012 GTI
i wanted to see how you've attached your power cables to the battery terminal itself. i noticed that on my car the nut doesn't seem to come all the way off. and i don't want to use a spade terminal for my power cable.
Hi just wanted to say THANK YOU for this video. I have a tiguan and wanted to install a subwoofer, it took me two days to do it. If I had watched your video B4 I could have done it in one hour. So thank you my subwoofer sounds so good. DDJ
Thank you for the effort! I was wondering about the panel removal procedure.
I have no further questions.
This helped immensely as I was running wiring for a trailer harness. Thanks a bunch!
You can use a distribution block in the back instead running 2 runs of power wire
and thank you this was very instructional vid for gti.. will be installing an audio system in one later today
Ah, the good ol witches pubes! Solid video, been researching a sub install for my 2011 GTI 6 speed for a month now and this video helped quite a bit
Thanks for the video, it helped me a lot on how to install my woofer.
How do you remove the hooks on the backs of the back seats so I can mount my amp on the back of the back seats? Those hooks are in the way.
Couldve ran 1 single power wire to a muliti-fused distribution block for a neater and more efficient install sans goes for the negative wires as well.
You got me rolling with the "Witches Pubes" hahahaha!
Why not run one power wire to a distrobution block that splits it into 2 in the trunk?
I'm trying to run a line out converter since I have the stock RCD 510 radio. Do you know how to remove the rear panel for that rear speaker?
Hey I lost my clutch plate and don’t know where to get a new one. Do you happen to know who Sells it? And the terminology
wow, great, awesome, the only thing I do difference is I have wire negative directly to be aware the loop ground and a capacitor...
Dude sick set up. I have 2 10s on my mk6. But if i bump it to loud the amp shuts off. I think it might be my POS duralast battery. Any videos of ur setup
I bolted mine to the back of the rear seat. You can also try under the passenger seat.
Great video
i hope the golf mk5 has similar go through like my golf3 has
Hey, nice clean clear video!wiring up Polk sub/amp system now having to body planels replaced so I might as well get it done now so that they can put it all back together for me!!.lol thanks for placement of firewall on dsg
gti lova glad it helped mate
directional rca's? what are those?
Can I wire it to the speaker on the door? I had it wired that way on my mark 4 and it worked in about 10 minutes.
Nice setup
How to take supply front fog lamps in basic model in original wiring
thanks for your help man!
Do you have the specs for the power wires?
Hey nice video and would your MIMD to share everything that u r using for your sound system plz thing like amplifier, sub, wires etc or link for them plz thanks and keep up the good tutorial thanks.
wires i usually use stinger, sub is a Orion hcca 10, amps kicker kx1600. dorr speakers are undecided at this time but the amp currently is a infinity kappa 4.
ghostlyrich ok thanks mate will check them online
Where exactly did you put the ground wire? Everything looks the same down there.
+TheBlehh010 I am also curious about this
+Bulletpr00fskin9 i put the ground in the trunk rate after the sub amp i knocked around a found a solid hunk of metal i sanded the primer off so it was bare then put a self tapping screw down to fasten it. Thick shortish screws work best
is that the stock stereo?
It's aftermarket. If you want to use the stock H/U, you have to buy a Line Output Converter.
If you have a stock stereo would this do:
www.crutchfield.com/p_142LOC90/Scosche-LOC90-Speaker-to-RCA-Line-Output-Converter.htmlIs the RMS wattage too low at 50 watts per channel I'm not sure how much that matters..Also is this how it works with a line out converter? :Speaker wire from Amp to back of line-output converter, then the line out converts to RCA which goes from RCA out to RCA in into your stock stereo?
Thank you thank you thank you! Helped a lot
that woofer can take a bigger amp not saying that it doesn't already slam. I'd say put it in a box built for it and run like a 2krms amp..
Marcel Kizer I built that box custom for it. I agree the woofer slams!
ghostlyrich pardon me for assuming it wasnt built for it. It was just some friendly advice to help if maybe you wanted a little more even without changing power. i just know those subs kill it lol
Marcel Kizer depends on car. what alternator and battery it is equipped with. I know certain cars I would never do a system with, with stock alt
Marcel Kizer yep. probably have mike singer build me another alt here in a bit
_____GHOST_____ hope your not implying me any system I have ever done a alternator upgrade in gets the big 3 done. Putting a fuse on the alternator wire is basics don't know why you went all Rambo there but good info?
Thanks for the video man... It should be more or less the same on my Golf 5, hopefully :)
This doesnt help me at all i have a manual transmission so i cant use the clutch grommet
Rivet0153 me too lol I can’t find a video that shows how to run wire through a manual gti!!
@@justinrebelo8639 2 either drill a hole in the passenger side of the footwellor run the wire underneath the car under the skid platethe back where the spare tire well as theirs to grommets if you take the spare tire out..
Your amps are gonna get hot being covered up the way they are
No point saying its a golf mk6 if your head unit isnt even standard
It's useful for other people with a mk6
