Spino really needs some animations with claws. And I remember, that I was werry dysapointed, that he didn't have speciall animation for killing t-rex by breaking his neck like in the movie.

I thought Frontier said that battle-hardened dinosaurs would naturally become harder to kill, so this Spino which has seen a lot of battles is thus not as easy to kill as a fresh out of the hatchery spino.
That’s another reason why the herbivore die so fast. They should get experience when they fight for alpha of the herd and buff their base stats. A trike should only be slightly weaker than a Rex. A battle hardened won should kill an unexperienced Rex

The single biggest gripe I have with JWE1/2 is the overly-aggressive carnivores. In my opinion, it would be far better if carnivores only hunted when hungry. This would be a great change that would open up new doors for the sandbox, such as making large reserves and self-contained ecosystems with a large variety of species.
Based on the game how it is now, this might also need a rework to behavior in that animals' social status appears to be based on "how many XYZ are in my enclosure" rather than taking the size of the enclosure (and thus proximity to other animals) into account.
well, it is realistic that 2 very large predators in an enclosed space kill each other, but maybe like a game rule or gene to reduce hunting of dinosaurs would be cool
@@bleddynwolf8463 For sure territorial disputes would be a good thing to implement, I just don't care for the unrealistic aggressiveness toward anything within the same enclosure. As a specific example, if you put a bunch of hadrosaurs or other non-combative herbivores in an enclosure with a single large carnivore, the carnivore will just continuously hunt until all the hadrosaurs are gone regardless of hunger or lack thereof. It would be far more realistic (and probably simple to implement) if the animal had a flexible threshold wherein it would become more likely to hunt the hungrier it gets.
I do like the idea of being able to adjust aggression or territorial attitudes via the genome, though. Perhaps this "hunting threshold" could also be modified? Just throwing ideas out.

What I wanna see added is a "Not So Gentle Giants" DLC pack that gives the sauropods varying ways of fighting back, like Brachiosaurus rearing back and smashing down on something trying to take a chunk put of its leg, or a Camarasaurus shoulder-checking a carnivore over and tramping on it.
10:42 I feel like its a HUGE missed oportunity to show that sauropods can be agressive and dangerous here. Like how cool would it have been if the Apato tail smashed the Alberto and send it rolling a few feet away with scars showing on its skin.
Or straight up killing it in one hit judging by the massive size difference.

Yea I agree with you, like if the i rex tried to attack the mamenchisaurus, the tail would be like WHIP, and the I rex would get pretty hurt. Maybe 55 percent health left?
Though the tails of the jwe sauropods have limited mobility, while they might sustain _some_ damage, it wouldn't be enough to bleed a carnivore to death. The only exception is diplodocus, and boy was that a wasted opportunity. Diplodocus is literally KNOWN for its tail whip. And another fighting mechanic for sauropods can be kicks and stomps.

For anyone wondering, the track that he plays for the combat starting at 8:43 is the Courtyard Coliseum battle theme from Pokémon Battle Revolution. Funny, I haven't played that game in over a decade at least, but I still almost immediately recognized that this track was from that game.
I like how indoraptor and indominus were killing things a ton despite not needing food
Really gets across the vibe that they hunt for sport most of the time
Love the esthetics and behaving more like animals than pokemons, definitely an improvement over JWE. But herbivores being massive, armored, full of spikes, horns and clubs still defenseless, not even a small chance is sad.
Time to work out how to change their stats
not to mention all the herbivores built for endurance and speed just immediatley get 1 shot but carnivores that would never be able to chase them down. Like the bary somehow outrunning a galli in the intro makes me cringe every time.

As other videos have shown from multiple creators. Herbivores in general need a decent buff. They’re a bit too much of fodder that is just doomed to die even for armored herbivores. Also obviously a bit of a nerf to pack hunting as well

It’s really stupid how basically useless Sauropods and most herbivores are in combat. Like a giant Apaptosaurus getting punkez by velociraptor packs is ridiculous. It would be much cooler if the sauropods were able to have like two animations where they either smash a carnivore or use their tail to whip it to the next dimension would be awesome. Even for the hadrosaurs, they should be able to fight back and not just be carnivore fodder.

Realistically, at those sizes, the first one the gets a solid bite would likely win regardless of if they are bigger or has a better bite force. None of these theropods have a good defense against each other, so they should all be treated like glass cannons when pit against each other. They're just walking meat sacks after all.
And, of course, herbivores are fodder again...
You know, everyone feels like Spino or Rex get 'dishonored' sometimes in the Jurassic franchise. But really it's the herbivores who get dicked on.

Ever since I first heard about JWE2, which was through this channel, I have been so excited about it. Now that James is doing a battle royale for JWE2 I am so happy. The battle royales were my favorite back when he was playing JWE.
Ngl, I hope they allow the sauropods to defend themselves at some point.

What would be cool is if beaver took all of the winning dinosaurs to their own separate enclosures and when he's covered all the content on the game he should make those dinosaurs participate in a battle royal. I've heard that there is a mechanic which makes battle Hardened dinosaurs better in fights so I think something like this would be cool.

Pack hunting has really improved the combat system. Dinosaur combinations must be more decisive.

Its ironic when you think about it sauropods where by far the strongest dinosaurs, having the ability to litarily CRUSH theropods if they wanted to. Its pretty sad how they are portrayed in this game though
