Brooke has maintained that they were just friends, not lovers. They met when she was only 15 and he was 20. It's hard to imagine Michael being intimate because as confident as he was on stage he was very insecure about his appearance. It probably took him longer than most people to feel secure enough to be intimate with someone.

Maybe she didn't consider him a romantic partner because they were never intimate with each other. They clearly went on dates to award shows together. It's possible that Michael was just more in love with her than she was with him.
I don’t think Michael had any guidance about how to approach dating, and how to read the other person he’s interested in, and that’s what led to his awkward statement.

This was sweet...it's funny most media companies never portray her as the one aggressively trying to get dates with him...and one even said she did not have feelings for him at all..they even said her response to the Oprah interview was that she had not even seen him in years...thanks for this...it is much more realistic...he really loved Diana Ross..he may not have been taking Brooke too seriously in comparison to Diana but then when he was ready to be serious she was in love with someone else..sad thing is all the women who turned him down all ended up with broken relationships later and they may not have been heart broken if they stayed with him..

Lots of people wanted to be there for him, but it was so hard to get to him just as Sheilds stated, many others stated this too, especially his security. Michael was just so closed off and isolated, in part he caused that himself, also he was surrounded by sharks who prevented close friends from getting to him and providing the help and support he needed.

This is my most favourite subject.
What I'm getting from this is that during the Thriller era Brooke wanted Michael (even tho she never admitted it). Brooke was the one who first approached Michael, she was the one asking him to go to dates and she was the one initiating sex (according to Michael himself) but Michael wasn't that interested in her (Diana Ross🤦🏽♂️). But then during the Dangerous era after Brooke was done with school, Michael caught serious feelings and tried to make it work but she wasn't as invested in him as she was before. He was the one in love with her around that time and wanted to settle down and she basically friend zoned him. In fact, they friend zoned each other🚮
as they said in video, Brooke was going out with him to boost her career. Being seen with him was a huge deal and she kept it limited to that only. I guess. I think Lisa Marie was the only woman who wanted nothing from him. I wish they stayed together.

Loved this I always watch everything on him and have all of his music and I have two dolls of him and I recently bought a jacket of him and I will be buying more stuff on him. I am gonna get a hat on him to. I've loved Michael Jackson all of my life since I heard of his music in the eighties and I will always love him even if he's gone from our world. I think it's a shame Brooke couldn't have taken him under her wing. I don't think Michael loved Lisa at all - he liked her as a friend maybe but he never looks in love, it was for public image repair he got married. But I think Lisa did think she loved him, at least for a while - I feel sorry for her. But it wasn't a healthy relationship, and Lisa had her own messed up issues (no blame, just way it was). Brooke would have been more stable for him. He needed someone stable, because... well ... he wasn't. Fame isolation upbringing stopped him having the solid foundations he needed to survive. Love and miss you Michael.

Basically they were just really good friends that wanted each other romantically in the 80s but Michael didn't know how to take it there (plus he was still in love with Diana Ross). As Brooke noted, Michael likely had a kind of arrested development/ptsd from his groupie upbringing so Michael wasn't comfortable with sex, especially sex before marriage. So Michael friend-zoned Brooke. Then in the early 90s, Michael tried to fix it but Brooke friend-zoned him back because she wasn't that into him anymore. But they always loved each other as friends.
Imagine a man putting brooke shields on his friendzone😂..I totally agree that they liked each other but I think Brooke did not love him deeply otherwise she would have married him from the beginning because he proposed to her many times in the thriller era

And Brooke did love him in the 80s but after awhile she saw how he wasn't ready for a relationship and that pushed her away, plus she was still a young 18 year old who wanted to venture out into other relationships and go to college. And yeah he proposed to her but it wasn't a romantic act, it was an act of trying to keep her as a really close friend because he was scared to lose her. And then maybe later it would turn romantic once Michael was ready for that. But he couldn't do the romance at the time and Brooke knew that. Basically to sum that all up, he friend-zoned her by being like "let's get married but still be friends". I know he didn't say that word for word but that is the impression Brooke got.

I think Brooke was perfect for Michael. They looked good looking couple, gorgeous together. It's always been bad luck as usual for Michael Jackson that no body completely understood him and betrayed him somehow, Brooke shield unfortunately became one of them. Creo que Mike sentía que si su relación amistosa con una chica iba a bien era la correcta para formar algo aunque no fuese amor porque su vida era muy difícil y era una vía de escape para olvidarse de Diana y callar a la prensa. Sin embargo Brooke fue inteligente, no porque no se casase con él sino porque era honesta, quizá si se hubiesen casado todo habría acabado mal un poco parecido a lo de Lisa que fue bastante forzado a pesar de que si se amaron fue una vorágine y ambos sufrieron mucho pero Lisa tuvo que aguantar mucho.
