Why do so many “how to Ollie” videos neglect the arms. As you can even see in this video, what you do with your arms is a MAJOR aspect of it. Especially for a beginner. When a person is just beginning, they probably have never jumped up in the air while standing on a non-stationary platform (i.e. the ground). And arms aren’t all that important when jumping off the ground. But for an Ollie it is very crucial that the arms swing up and out for three crucial reasons: upward momentum (helps with getting higher), balance (like you do with a manual), and the main reason is that it prevents you from turning your shoulders which turns your board which causes you to land sideways. It’s not a natural movement and feels awkward at first so it must be taught.
I watched this video, now I can finally ollie with confidence. Thanks, Toby.

Clear and straight to the point, will try it when I get myself a new board. The old one has almost zero grip and it's hard to do anything with it 😂
That’s a good plan!! I think you definitely can get these ollies down, after that go for half cabs or 180s 🙏
I know Exactly the feeling im at a point where i am going to sacrifice for a new board this coming week😅
