If anyone is overwhelmed by the size of this game, dont be. Just hop in and explore, you never know what you'll find. At one point i came across a pink mushroom forest that eventually turned me into a mushroom. Another time i found a giant mall with a tank and a statue of Poseidon. Just explore, dont worry about effects (except perhaps the chainsaw and the bike). I have close to 10 hours in the game and have yet to actually find an effect tbh. Its just fun to explore.
i think that’s the best recommendation to new players. go into the game thinking you are exploring a dream. there is no story, no reason to go anywhere. just explore, find new paths and doors. take time to just enjoy the game before you go to the wiki and find how to get certain achievements and stuff. its geniuenly a one of a kind game. if you are someone who likes to wake up and write your dreams down in a journal, or just ponder the meaning of your dreams. this game is for you! i agree with you wholeheartedly, just explore the game with headphones and nothing else distracting you. i’ve put about 130 hours into it. and still have not even seen like half of the worlds the game offers!
When I first played yume 2kki, I actually was so into the game that I absolutely forgot about getting effects and I just, well explored. That's where I somehow found myself to the little red riding hood effect, without need of the wiki. (I found it in the birch forest)
Can I just say that Yume 2kki is one of the last and rarest games we will ever probably see be taken seriously by it’s community and respected for its themes straight on from the original. Backrooms and SCP projects have gone down the deep end. This fangame KNEW what Yume Nikki was everyone who has ever worked on Yume 2kki hit the nail on the coffin for what Yume Nikki is and the general atmosphere that the game is supposed to be experienced in. I love it, this game makes me wish I could physically hug it, and I’ve personally started calling these games “Dream-likes” due to this nature of whiplash and extreme scenic shifts. Granted, not all Yume Nikki fangames seem to get it, edging on too much for terrible and bleak cheap horror. I like it when a game gives you the chance to want to chase towards the end, there’s a light at the middle of a corridor instead of the end and those speckles of light is what lures you to move on from some of the uncomfortable content. Yet it never strays too far imo I’ve never been jumped by a Yume 2kki area, there are times where I am startled but never have I felt like I needed to throw my headphones off because a cheap Creepypasta Sonic.EXE scare popped up on my screen. It’s artistically gothic, and that’s just perfect for me.

That and there is “Gamers Against Weed” that is canon to the organization, the fact it’s been around for 4k+ years, some gore pronz, my little pony, SCPs becoming Tumblr sexyman, obvious 4Chan influence, etc… its just lost what its supposed to be.
@@pezvonpez apparently there is a canon. You can’t just make an SCP character and call it authentic; there’s this whole process and there’s a limited amount of slots. And also there’s lore to it, that is just a trashed up mess actually… I cannot even begin to explain to you the messy lore of SCP because it’s just that bad; but the consensus is that they organization might have originated some god-knows-how-many centuries ago. I’m talking millenniums of years and that there is only 8000-9000 SCPs. That’s why when you go to the site [ACCESS DENIED] is SCP slots not yet accepted or taken. Plus, the acceptance rate is absolutely grueling and I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the articles are from favorites or biased acceptance like the Bernie Sanders SCP.
I became super adicted to using CryCafé's version to sleep, but eventually found myself annoyed at the eventual repetitiveness so I am so glad someone got inspired by that wonderful audiovisual mix so much as far as to make a version themselves. I honestly love 2kki so much. The ost, the maps, everything. The main reason I came here to 2kki in the first place was because of the ost of Yume Nikki, which brought me to the fangame 2kki! Some of the most beautiful things and artworks I've ever seen have come from 2kki. The devs are really talented! I like how only some people know about 2kki, as big communities can go wrong, but I wish more people could know about the beauty of 2kki! i absolutely love yume 2kki..! almost a year since ive played it and its a game thats stuck with me so long :D the various styles of each author (and even just contributors in general like with music) fascinates me so much. i was at first pretty intimidated by the sheer scope of yume 2kki but after getting over that fear id say playing it has been one of the best decisions ive made!! the community and friends ive found through it through YNO are amazing especially. Hi! I love this playlist so much! I've been a yume nikki fan for a while but never played yume 2kki, but that will change soon. Do you know how to play and get yume 2kki legitimately? Also just recently I was cleaning my bathroom and connected my ipad to a speaker and put this on while cleaning! It felt so surreal!! I also made a smarter decision to put it in my bathtub with louder volume. Once I did that the music echoed so sweetly and felt very dream like (toilet wave😅)!! Around 19:35 , it echoed so perfectly just felt so so calming and magical (I was working on my toilet during that time😅) Anyways Thank You for uploading this!!! The Midnight Lake in Nocturnal Grove is definitely among my top picks. The journey to one of the deepest worlds, Lavender Waters, requires you to go through there and honestly, without Nocturnal Grove and its subarea it just wouldn't have been the same. Yume 2kki became one of my favorite games after I encountered the lake area late at night with the soft piano music accompanying me. If you ever wind up playing Yume 2kki I definitely recommend going there. It's IMO apart of the best worlds in the game.

Hello and thank you for your kind words. If you're looking to install the game, downloading EasyRPG and executing Yume 2kki with it is likely the easiest way. EasyRPG isn't perfect; very few select worlds look funky thanks to some images that are strangely refusing to load (I don't know why this happens or how to fix it- it seems it's an EasyRPG issue only). However, it is still convenient since it's simple to install, virus free, and also has the option to speed things up with F + G. This is a very handy feature since Yume 2kki has a lot of colossal worlds that can suck up a lot of time to transverse. Be warned: if you would like to visit this area in the game, I recall the Flooded Dungeon having some flashing lights at some sections. Urotsuki's dreams are alot more sad with violent events than Madotsuki's, who are mostly just interpretive abstract. Love that difference, even though we don't get any info on them as people, there's that distinction.
Hi! I love this playlist so much! I've been a yume nikki fan for a while but never played yume 2kki, but that will change soon. Do you know how to play and get yume 2kki legitimately?
Also just recently I was cleaning my bathroom and connected my ipad to a speaker and put this on while cleaning! It felt so surreal!! I also made a smarter decision to put it in my bathtub with louder volume. Once I did that the music echoed so sweetly and felt very dream like (toilet wave😅)!! Around 19:35 , it echoed so perfectly just felt so so calming and magical (I was working on my toilet during that time😅)

For downloading Yume 2kki, I use a simple method below that should still work. Notably, other translations for Yume 2kki may be outdated, so I recommend playing in original Japanese if you'd like to stay up-to-date.

Several of them that I included the music of, such as the Radiant Ruins, Overgrown City, and the Depths, just to name a few. Makes me hopeful that perhaps some other abandoned areas will be brought back. :)

The Midnight Lake in Nocturnal Grove is definitely among my top picks. The journey to one of the deepest worlds, Lavender Waters, requires you to go through there and honestly, without Nocturnal Grove and its subarea it just wouldn't have been the same. Yume 2kki became one of my favorite games after I encountered the lake area late at night with the soft piano music accompanying me.
If you ever wind up playing Yume 2kki I definitely recommend going there. It's IMO apart of the best worlds in the game.

I apologize for that. It was only *after* I uploaded this did I realize how bad some of the transitions were... I will be sure to be more careful with my next one. They'll be much shorter and not collide as much as they did in this video. :)
Very nice playlist I love it! I've been highly interested in playing yume2kki because of the calming atmosphere which seems to outweigh the other game yumenikki. If you don't mind me asking, how do I download the game? N O I have already tried, but it didn't work and I was slightly unsure whether it would result in a virus attacking my computer. Hello and thank you for your kind words. If you're looking to install the game, downloading EasyRPG and executing Yume 2kki with it is likely the easiest way. EasyRPG isn't perfect; very few select worlds look funky thanks to some images that are strangely refusing to load (I don't know why this happens or how to fix it- it seems it's an EasyRPG issue only). However, it is still convenient since it's simple to install, virus free, and also has the option to speed things up with F + G. This is a very handy feature since Yume 2kki has a lot of colossal worlds that can suck up a lot of time to transverse.
Here is a video that helped me install the game: (it includes an installation guide for another YNFG too, so only watch the first 2 minutes if you're disinterested);
