This is by far the trendiest region of Tokyo and a place that everyone should visit! Headed to Tokyo in November. Staying at the Hotel Groove in shinjuku and splitting that with Hakone. A few things we are doing - sumo wrestling, team lab, tea ceremony, go karts, drift daikoku, Tokyo sky tree. Some must tries are matcha ice cream, Aomori, strawberry mochi

I just stayed 2 weeks in Akihabara. Yes Gachapon and the action figures are huge in Japan with locals and tourists. You should pop into Volks in the area you're walking.
Hopefully you made it to the other cool part of Akihabara near the station where Radio Kaikan is.
If you enjoy Akihabara you will also enjoy Ikebukuro. There is the Bandai Namco Gachapon store with over 3000 gachapon machines in the world import building. That building is attached to the popular Sunshine City mall. There's also Takeshita Street in Harajuku.
ps pretty sure those maids don't like you filming them. They did the same when I shot my videos too.

Chris man, how do you adapt to the time change traveling so much. I just came back from Thailand and the jet lag has been kicking my butt.
I just swallow loads of melatonin whenever I arrive in a place and get a solid sleep, usually that puts me right on track!

I love cats and we went to a cat cafe in Japan and I found some of the cats weren’t friendly to us but it was a good experience to visit a cat cafe.

@@melbournestacker well that's part of it too. I think someone else here commented that they charge for their photos in the cafes. That's how they make extra money. So it's a little of both reasons why they don't want their photos or video taken on the streets. I'm surprised they let you take video inside the cafe. Most (95% of them) won't allow it without prior permission. So good job finding one that allowed it
