I just bought this yesterday. It's SUPER bright and lights a small room really well, or a garage, campsite, etc. Hurts the eyes if you look at it and it's a great, clean light for temp lighting.

I believe the icons at bottom represent the illumination throw distance in meters, but i could be mistaken. So it will throw 40m (meters) on high and 15m on low.

It does not appear to support pass-through charging and usage. Otherwise it was very useful.

Same happened to my son-in-law’s light, Model 9978. It has yellow bumpers instead of the red ones in the video. I fiddled a little with it and it would light up briefly and then go dark. Since then it resides on a shelf somewhere.

I finally took it apart and there was a a wire just hanging by the insulation, right where the charge cord connects(inside)

@@j1mbobtech Will follow up on your experience! I took it apart earlier today but didn’t go past seeing the battery and the circuit board still beneath the light plate. Was halfway afraid the battery (lithium?) would explode or catch on fire :)

The problem may be with the charger cord connector at the circuit board. When wiggled, the LED light comes on and one of the two little status lamps (the red one) lights up. At this point, I can’t say if the LED and the status lamp are shining at the same time. Might be a crack in the circuit board, or a bad solder joint or a bad power connector.

The problem appears to be with the USB micro B female receptacle on the sub circuit board that receives the light’s DC
power from the male USB micro B plug on the trouble light’s power cord. The receptacle tends to rock up and down causing its four fingers to lose contact with their circuits on the sub board. (Full disclosure: I never knew the name of the USB micro B before all this studying 😊) From what I read about the plug on the Internet, it has a bad reputation. I suppose a person skillful at soldering would have no problem fixing the trouble light, but that person would not be me.
