As soon as parameterized EQ knobs & faders can be added to this, we're going to see a need breed of "touchless" Rekordbox DJ sets that are fully pre-arranged.
i dont think this is the case at all. First this is a very complicated tool to use, second, this type of "djs" bring their set already pre mixed 90 minutes long. This is a tool for live mashups, using stems, hot cues and any other embeleshiments you want, all of this tools need skills to put together.
Thanks for the explainer. I have the FLX 10 but I find it very confusing to use this feature with the buttons. And I didn't know about the Silent thing so I was wondering why it started early. Then I saw your video. It helped me, thanks!
This is probably going to take some time to become quick at through muscle memory, and I can see this becoming useful for when you want to do some turntablism or other non-mixing performance. Otherwise, it’s much simpler to just mix normally.

Thanks for the walkthrough from the Rekordbox software perspective. I have the Flex10 and its a pain. For mix point link to work you must be "On Air" or live, meaning track A is playing (cant be paused) before you can set anything. Stupid Stupid Stupid implementation. Also the biggest advantage outside of a smoke break is the auto mix feature so if you can't set anything up offline or implement via auto mix what is the point? Just mix live. Silly... Alpha Theta! I hope they update automix and with offline set up.

Thanks for explaining this feature. However, the mix in/out feature reminds me of Traktor and it's less complicated. You just needed to switch the cue point type to any cue point that was already set and this could be done live 😅
Perfect 👍 Iv got it figured out, just need to figure out if it’s useful for anything now 😂 fyi it will play in or out of saved loops if you have them. It’s definitely not something to use live, I think it’s more of a production tool tbh for making mashups and remixes etc

Big failure of Mix Point Link in its first iteration: If the mix IN point on the INcoming deck is a Loop Hot Cue, it won't actually start playback with the loop active. This makes the feature effectively worthless for real world use just yet. I mean, consider how many of us use Loop Hot Cues.

Thanks for the video but for some reason Everytime I have the mix point set up and playing. It starts the transition but the sync quickly goes off beat. I noticed the BPM sync is always yellow and when I press it to turn it white the mix point cancels. Driving me nuts.
When the Silent Off point is before the Mix In point and both tracks are playing, what exactly happens when the Mix in point is reached?
Nothing different to the sound. My guess is the edit feature is for a last minute "I change my mind, let's go now" adjustment.
I’m hoping this is the beta and it’s part of a bigger function.

Function is unavailable for me, using the ddj 200 atm. Says its not included in the current plan, do u need to pay for this function or can i get this to work just with the controller unlock?

Good question! It looks like "limited use" of mix point link is available with the free version but it suggests that hardware unlock devices should have the features of the core plan which includes mix point link in it's entirety according to Pioneer DJ's site. I don't have a definite answer to this one, unfortunately.
@@BillyLane916 yea thats what i read aswel, unfortunately the mix point link icon has a lock over it and so is not available for me at 6.7.1 rn hope i can use it in the future !
after pay the updgrade plan, and maybe 1 hour trying to follow a couple of tutorials (becouse there are not more...) im not able to make the MIX POINT LINK "buttom legend" blue, so i could not activate the MIX POINT LINK correctly.

Check the 06:50 mark in this video. Make sure you don't have the waveform scrolling button turned on. That could cause what you're experiencing.
it's a beginning of AI learning with humans do... but still missing EQ knobs turning and making a sensitive transitions..

Using the sync button is cheating. Looking at waveforms is cheating. BPM detection, grids, cue points are all cheats. Real DJs only use records haha 🌈
You're supposed to know the music by heart. Beat matching by ear only. That's what DJs do. The grooves in the vinyl or shellac are your waveforms. Calling a software "Rekordbox" is an insult to DJs. Keep it real 🌈
This feature kept freezing rekordbox, so I gave up.
