      His harmonics have to be some of the best I’ve ever heard. Every time I hear him do them they sound just as good as the first time. His writing with placement is just amazing.

    One of the guitarists, Tim Henson, used to play the violin in an orchestra. They're definitely more towards the classical side. Their first video I think was a cover of Bach Concerto.

    I've listened to this song probably close to 1 thousand times and I still love it, because of how well it's composed and all the little details to make up the whole song. One of the greatest songs of all time.

    great reaction, they started as metal, and moved to hiphop-jazz-whatever-you-call-this. and when you thought it was keyboards coming back, it was just guitar harmonics that the song was based around. Hope to see more Polyphia reactions from ya!

    If I remember correctly, Tim is the main riff writer and he originally had classical training and then took a turn to metal and then some rap stuff.

    I've watched a number of Polyphia reaction vids and this has been my favorite. The Musicians are amazing but the drummer is next level all world. As a guitar player, he makes me wish I focused on being a drummer when I was a kid..lol

    Ne Obliviscaris - And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope should be your cup of tea. They even use it at Sydney Conservatorium of Music because of how well the song is built and composed.

      ah some eitch dee six hunge-o's from old mate senn? great pick, try to pick up a decent amp/dac combo to feed them with like for instance a FiiO Q1 mk2, not expensive and does a world of difference compared to trying to run hd600s from a standard headphone out.

    Both their guitarist, but in particular Tim Henson is a fricking MONSTER on guitar. He has a youtube channel aswell which has some dope stuff on it (like Blood Moon, prolly my fav riff ever).

    Great video dude, it is not so easy to find reaction channels these days that actually know about stuff they talk about. If you liked this, you should definitely check out band "Unprocessed". Very similar to Polyphia, but with very beautiful vocals, I suggest songs "Abandoned", "Real (featuring Polyphias guitarist and bassist), and most definitely their latest song "Deadrose". Keep up the good work mate

    From a compositional/arrangement point of view, this track is reminiscent to a style of electronic music called IDM, which was quite popular the early 2000's underground scene. It reminds me a lot of old Aphex Twin and Venetian Snares and the sorts.

    They draw their influence from pop, rap and electronic music. Tim Henson said something like "trying to play rap with guitar". He has classical guitar background, which somewhat explains his hybrid picking.
    Yeah, I'm a huge fan.

    I'd love for you to check out The Ocean. Not sure exactly what song to recommend as a lot of theirs are in the 6-13min duration (Cambrian II, Permian, Triassic, Jurassic | Cretaceous). Maybe Miocene | Pliocene?
