I'm fine with Slipstream being a Windblade remold. But if they're gonna do that, it still needs to look different from Windblade, it still needs to look like a more modified Seeker, and you just dont get that here. Easily the biggest offender that makes this toy bother me is the wings. If the wings had only been a little different I probably wouldn't be so against this, heck if they just reworked them so the VTOL fans were removed and there was proper Null Ray placement I think i would've been happy. My priorities with a Slipstream is that she is a Seeker first and formost, I honestly would've prefered another Earthrise Seeker remold over this. This is just trying to make Windblade cosplaying as Slipstream and I'm just not into it. She needed a much more extensive remold for it to work
Even Mark Maher pretty much acknowledged that he didn’t do enough for this figure.
The blasters should’ve had a place to go on the arms. The shoulders should’ve been redesigned to better reflect the Seeker design.
I honestly just find this figure to not do justice to a character who hasn’t been done justice yet.

I think to summarize the core problem a lot of people have is the fact that Hasbro just changed the head and called it a day, when they should have retooled the body so it matches with the head more.

Fun fact: blink and you'll miss it, but in the "We return to The Transformers" animation with Starscream, he's actually holding one of his null rays in his left hand.
I have a few complaints about slipstream being a retool. I think the problem for me is that in cyberverse, slipstream and windblade were foes so people are gonna want to display the legacy figures together but they didn't look at all like each other in the show so it's weird that their toys do.
Another thing (that shadow striker also suffers from) is that while the legacy figures reference the character's history as previously being a retool, legacy is trying to pass it off as a different version of the character (shadow striker was a retool/recolour in transformers universe iirc so they shouldn't have tried to pass her off as a cyberverse figure).
My last problem is that slipstream only ever got one figure in the cyberverse toyline that wasn't a repaint of starscream. It was a gimmicky ultimate figure or something that had very poor articulation for its size. Legacy had the chance to give slipstream a unique figure but all she gets is another repaint with minor retooling.
With all that said, I still plan to buy it when I can, I just hope this better explains why some people are annoyed. Like just being a redeco doesn't bother me for a lot of figures (legacy chromia actually looks sick and has an amazing head sculpt so I don't mind that she's a redeco of prowl) but in some specific instances, hasbro should've done better imo

At the very least, this needed different shoulder armor, new forearms, & a new chest to make this look more like Slipstream. It definitely needs an upgrade set & Idek if it's going to get one.
I was against Slipstream being a deluxe from the get go when we saw the leaks. She's a seeker, she should have been a voyager seeker mold
Hasbro could have repainted Windblade to any other female jet and it would have been a better choice
I'm not gonna lie, starting with the WFC line, I don't mind seekers holding the nullrays as guns. It opens up more interesting poses. I'll take a teal and purple Windblade repaint and be happy with her. :)
My only complaint is they didnt give her new wings.

Correct! this is the "CYBERVERSE" Version. A "G1" version would have 'delta' wings and dual tailfin stabilizers.
Apologetics would explain Slipstream's appearance in the G1 cartoon to be just a recolor of the classic Seeker due to budget and she was always intended to look this way.
I like this Slipstream, though I do wish hasbro would have allowed for the wings to be remoulded to be solid so Windblade can have her somewhat unique vehicle mode.
I am also okay with this to be honest. I have seen Starscream hold one of his Null Rays in the G1 Episode "The Core". We can also pretend she is a different character. Like Starscream's and Slipstream's daughter or another Camien like WIndblade or another random female Seeker!!
I just see this Slipstream and think, "She should go on a date with G2 Ramjet!"
Because they share the color scheme? Maybe.

My two cent-
Yes I know she has a history to being Windblade redeco but the difference is, she suppose to be based on the Cyberverse cartoon where the T30 was nothing? I mean the toy Windblade doesn't fully resemble the Cyberverse version but got the general shapes right.
While I had low expectation from the teaser image but I was hoping for more retool like changing the plane head area! Yes I know you can peg the gun under the hands but tradiationally with the Seeker, it should be at the side.
Either way, an easy skipped unless she dropped down to £10!
I actually like the new Slipstream. The only things I hate are the head and the fact the null rays don't plug onto the upper arms.
I like the look of this figure, only complaint is the shoulders but the arms have 5mm ports, will have to see what Slipstream looks like with under-slung null rays.
underslung any weapon is a really cool look.
oh, we're not getting any new slipstream toy for the next half decade. so I guess go and buy her for the aftermarket once she gets her cult following.
Honestly, I'm just glad to get a Slipstream.

I dont hate how the figure looks compared to most people althougu the head although the head doesnt strikes me enough as the cyberverse design. It would be interesting if they did an animated inspired head and pass it off as the animated slipstream instead
Just look what a fantastic job Hasbro and HasTak can do when they actually care, like Straxus, who's just a retool of Galvatron. That figure is purley fabulous. For Slipstream they could have easily reached the same level of awesomeness just making a new chest, new wings, and attaching the null rays to the shoulders. But they just didn't care. It's totally fine to like this figure, It's not bad per se. But lazy it is. Maybe some third party can improve on her (seems like Nonnef is cooking something already)...
Hasbro pls at least do the bare minimum and change her wings
its not that we're surprised that it is a Windblade recolor, just disappointed. Slipstream SHOULD be voyager size and deserves her own mold however if she is going to be a retool of an existing mold then most of us would rather they used the earthrise seeker mold. if they are going to use a windblade mold they could have, at the VERY LEAST, got rid of the fans on the wings and fixed the arms so she could mount her null rays properly.
It is a neat little figure. I might grab this one. Nice video. Keep up the awesome. :)

Im one of the very few that actually like it.
i think her being a remold of Windblade is a nice reference to the original legends figure.
the null rays do attach via ports on the back of her lower arms.
though she does have her cons.
i do think she should have had at least a remolded chest.
and her VTOLs are not the most accurate, though they still look pretty cool.
from what i have seen she is a 9/10, i will be getting the figure when she does release.
they did a slipstream from generations windblade in timelines and maybe they can do a animated slipstream and have a different mold 100% probably
She looks OK to me. Not perfect not terrible just meh. However, I have zero attachment to the character so it is a total blank slate to me. So I am completely neutral on the design, might pick her up.
Idk why they chose to make a G1-style head if they weren't gonna retool the rest of the figure to be more like a G1 Seeker. if her head looked more like her Animated or Cyberverse design, which are much more stylised with shaping that feels more in line with Windblade, I think it would feel more intentional. As is, it kinda looks just like a digibash.
We all knew Slipstream was gonna be from Windblade, I think people just expected more than a new head and nullrays. At least a new chest and shoulders sculpt
I'm on the same boat as you with this one. I'm looking forward to getting it. I think plugging the guns under the arms would work alright. It worked for the siege sixgun figure. I also wonder if they'll use this mold again for Maxima from the machinima prime wars trilogy. Anything is possible.
I definitely share the same opinion as you when it comes to this figure, and I think people just love to complain nowadays tbh

I think it's the best and I don't hate it I like it alot to get and I hope for more female seekers in the future.

It's not bad, but it is lazy.
Being common practice doesn't change the amount of effort that goes into it.
The fact that it's lazy, thus has a very low cost to produce is the point of repaints.
The problem is that it lacks the minimal amount of (p)retooling needed to make her look like a convincing CYBERVERSE Seeker.
And that is the rub right there.
They are claiming this is Cyberverse Slipstream, but she doesn't look anything like T30/Legends Slipstream.
I guarantee you, there would have been far less complaints about this figure if they had just chosen a more appropriate name.
What I don't understand is why they insist on put the Cyberverse moniker on figures that are clearly not the Cyberverse designs.
That rubs people the wrong way because fans of a particular show are rightfully going to have certain expectations when you invoke the name of that show.
For those who are understandably dissatisfied with the slipstream, don’t worry, Nonnef is working on a kit that will make Slipstream look like, well, Slipstream.

I agree with you. In an ideal world, each figure would have its own unique mold, but since it's not the case, this is a perfectly fine figure. People just love to complain and find the smallest reasons to do so
I don't think people are complaining for the sake of complaining. They just care about these characters and want to see more accurate representation of them in their figures. Especially for those characters that are somewhat historical or unique.
@@donaldshono5762 I see what you mean, it is a valid reason. Then again, I've seen some people being a bit too unreasonable. I once saw a guy blowing a gasket because WFC Siege Soundwave has a yellow visor instead of red, regardless of the accuracy to the original toy
