Saw them 4-5 times live!! First two times 1989 in Weilheim and Köln on their "Germany Tour" with The Orchids (A Sarah package...). Just Robert Wratten and Michael Hiscock [what a name!] I might remember. To be honest I have forgotten if they had a drummer on tour or just their drum machine . Later then again I saw them in England 1991as a full band (with Annemarie in the Band, and even Harvey Williams from Another Sunny Day on guitar) as we tried to follow them on their small tour in Sep/Oct 1991. Great memories...
Saw them playing live a few months after this session, at London's The Venue. Full bill was The Field Mice, Heavenly and The Brilliant Corners. Magic night. Still got memories.

the field mice are great. ive only discovered them about two years ago and i keep returning to their music whenever i think about them which is not too often. there is just something about their music that brings me back every time, something magical, nostalgic, melancholic and familiar in their music

Once people start trying to fit bands into narrow categories, it leaves no room for diversity and scenes inevitably choke on their own homogeneity. There’s not much “noise” in their ouvre. It’s always just been pop music to me. In a perfect world, the Field Mice would have been POP STARS.
