if you watch bad Chad he would gave you good pointer
You are doing well on the project. I would like to see you “cut and buy” like Fitzee does. You might want to get some clecos to fit the pieces in temporary. I always shop Airhead parts, they are a good source for my single cabs and 11 windows.

Problem with Chad is he doesn’t clean all the metal befor he welds. Fitzees your guy to go to😊!!
I have been an auto body tech for 38 years….you are doing a good job,I like your videos
I really appreciate that man! =)
Welding = practice! You should take advantage of this project and stop welding sheet over sheet and try top-top. Results are better and also protection against future corrosion. Very nice progression, weekly waiting for new episodes.
CT, your vids are like a Spaghetti Western. “The Good, The Bad and the Ugly”. I enjoy the fact that you show it all and this is a real world restoration. Keep ‘em coming!
Thanks Earl! =) I like that! I try to keep it real my friend.
Good Work!! Very Professionally!!! You are my friend!! Fun!!!
your work and confidence has come on leaps and bounds, great progress
Once again, very well done!👍 //Peter
It seems to be cooler weather now. Imagine all that work in the summer heat.
You're very professional bro.,I like the way you do your job
"LETS DO IT"... Now you're getting somewhere, less talking about it more actual fabrication/welding...deep in the heart of "TEXAS", tanks for sharing
Great job. I'm happy to find your channel. Greatings from Germany
That helmet is perfect 👍
Very nice job CT for someone that is not a professional welder your doing a great job awesome 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻keep up the great job
Good work you are a professional 💪🏻 greetings from Amsterdam 🇳🇱🌷
Glad to see u getting into the actual panel work for these. Looks good. Keep on trucking!
Awesome video great very thorough this video will help me tremendously ….I had the pleasure of meeting Pete at airkewld on Monday as I was in Phoenix for the race… Very cool folks at AirKewld
I LOVE THE IDEA , YOU ARE A GENIAL, EXELENTES , THANKS BARY , congratulations , I love the car .
Howdy I am the Bugman from North Carolina and been working on bugs now for 60 years. You are doing a good job so keep it up. The left door probably should be replaced but to the bottom rotted out as you will need this to be good to support your door seal as you well know. Also when you put the rubber seal in the door may have to be adjusted again. God bless.
I’m super proud for you. Your becoming quite a craftsman.
Thanks brother!
Excellent Video!
Thanks man! =)
Bravissimo!! Ti seguo da Roma, Italia!
I think you doing a great job, in Holland we say that guy has two right hands he can make everything👍👍👍
Thanks Leo!
With your tool's and your patience, the bug is really taking shape! Great workmanship on the build. Your steps speak for themselves. Awesome work CT'.
Thanks Danny! 👍
Awesome video and sheet metal / welding work, CT. For your first time doing this level of work, you should be proud. As a regular viewer, I like others here, find your videos nicely balanced between doing and sharing. Looking forward to your next!
Great progress
Hi CT! What a great job! You’re on your way to becoming a great fabricator! I like the banner Ad!
Getting there. It sure is rusty that old bugget. You'll figure it out. :) Hi from Berlin in Germany
CT
Good morning.
Thank You for sharing this video. I usually watch your videos before I go to Church every Sunday.
I guess I am learning about You. I am telling myself, CT must have some sort of college degree, and surely, He has mastered his skills in some other discipline before developing his skills with VW car restorations.
It is a great video, I think you chose the best approach for this task. I encourage You to keep restoring this great car
Thanks Joe! I appreciate that. I've lived a few lives my friend! =)
Awesome Video CT
Das ist mal nen heiles Radhaus .Kompliment!
👌Nicely done
Красивый автомобиль! Превосходный мастер! Внимание к мелочам! Приятно смотреть!
Hey brother I think you are doing a pretty good job. Plus the satisfaction of you doing it and every day mastering some new is worthwhile the effort and work you put into it.
I've never been so keen on a CZcams restoration work and I've followed your work with so much attention
Thank you! =)
CT you can just hammer and dolly that lip at the door pillar when you pull the door off again to work it. I am working on these same areas right now on a 66 bug I'm doing. Between You, Mike F, Fitzee and Darren you have me rolling and answering my questions along the way. CT you keep it real my welding skills are on par with yours but its getting the work done and your gaining some serious VW street credibility with this project.
Thanks Rob! I appreciate that man! Those guys are the best. We couldn't do it without them. They paved the way for us. =) Keep on rocking with the 66 my friend!
Look at you becoming a metal man, great job 👏🏼
Thanks man!
You’re a metal artist!
Thanks Robert! =)
Hi CT. Wonderful work keep it up. Love the Helmet!
Thanks Eric!
Well done you have come a long way from the dragon
Things are getting better, your breaking down the project into section is smoother, and the work area is now work friendly. The door worked better when it was lifted, I think I would weld the inside when it's up.
Thanks Robert! Yes, things seem to be working out! =)
I'm really enjoying this build one day I hope to have my own vw beetle can't wait to see how this turns out
Great job CT. Forget patina. Paint. Too much work to not paint it now.
When you sent me those pictures i knew it was cut too high. It just didnt look right. Best way out was what you did. Split it and drop that part down. when you laid the one piece over the other the thickness of the metal needed to be accounted for you would have needed to measure from the bottom of the new part not the bend in the corner.
Thanks Mike!
Great job!
Real inspiring love the progress youve made Keep at it
Good job on the video. It looks pretty good. Your welding is coming along pretty nicely. IT takes a lot of practice I am learning how as well and your is getting really good after not welding for a while like you said!
Just do it bro. Where is that Kharmann?
Doing good job on it
good work 👍
It's great to see you having fun messing around. You are almost at the point of starting a new project. LOL......
Excellent video CT :) your doing super job to this classic car and nice metal work 👍! Work in steps just do beads on connect dots welds when weld to keep strong to and grid light done ✔ 👍 💪 keep strong forever too!
Looking good dude!!! Mike is a great Guru to have
Nice job CT, your getting better every vid. Just remember measure measure measure before cutting, will save yourself a bit of work. 🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍
Love it! It’s looking great!👌😎👍
Probably worth popping the wing back on to confirm the new bottom captive nut lines up before completely welding it up.
When you do the other side give the Fitzee's "cut and butt" a go.
I tried it on the bottom of a Karmann Ghia engine lid and it's surprisingly easy.
Awesome Getting Better CT ! You should feel good about your self ! Thanks Straight Ahead ✌😎
Good Job...
Thanks Len! =)
nice fab work bro i like
Great work CT , i would use a weld through primer before welding , id use seam sealer on non visible areas , and a fibre glass stand filler on area you can see , sand down and finish with normal filler on top
Great job CT ... Keep up the great work 👍
Looking good, whack some welds on the inside between the top of the heater cahnnel and the original metal - where you said to seam sealer. Then seam sealer it. :D
very interesting, entertaining.
Great job ct you’re doing great
Just be carful grinding and sanding to much on the steel you can reduce the thickness of the steel
Keep up the goood work
Great job my man! Very inspiring 😊
Awesome job as always!
Looking good. Great job!
You are doing a great job, congrats, keep doing
painstaking work but well worth it! good job.
Good job, man! I'm following your project from Bauru/SP, Brazil.
OFTEN THE STUDENTS do better work than the teacher. ha ha. Great Job.
Thanks Mike!!! 😃 Couldn't do it without you brother!
high praise from the master!
Enjoying the series and the detailed video editing. Keep it up please, my beetle is pretty rough so everything you're doing I'll need to do as well.
Thank you! =)
Considering how it appeared when you bought it, it’s come a long way 👍🏻 it will be really fun to see you finish the body work up because then it’s just re-installing stuff. I honk if you do the white paint first, then some really light yellow layer and then some of that rust color it’ll really look natural rust. Have a great Day! 😊
Hi CT! Welding tip: Don’t weld one hole after the other. You are over heating the sheet metal. The tin is so thin that it’s losing all of it strength. Weld from one end to the other end and so on. Regards
Hi, CT watch this video later the same for others of my favorite CZcamsrs, I,m for the time being indisposed course sickness. hope to be fresh again in the coming days.Greeting Hubertus
Looking good!
Your welding is improving every time. I can see you are gaining confidence.
I really like what you are doing. No short cuts, which would be easier. Seen it, done it 😢 and got that t-shirt. But not worth it. So well done!
Keep doing what you started.
Well performed videos.
The Swede 😊

Excelente trabalho, parabéns!! Grande abraço!!
I like the idea of a video being about one section done and don’t mind if it is going to be longer video, cheers and god speed
Im no professional welder but that looks good but a little project to learn on like you mentioned, looks good though
Parabéns ficou muito,bom.!.Brasil RJ !
Parabéns está fazendo um bom trabalho sou do Brasil e acompanho seu trabalho desde o Karmanghia
Nice job CT
Thanks man!
Parabéns pelo trabalho ficou ótimo 👏👏
alright nice job
Thanks Terry!
Жду следующий видеоролик!!!
One word of advise well maybe 2. Put a little gap between the but welds and use weldable primer between your joints. Love your videos!
Looks good mate
Thanks Tony! 👍
Lookin' good, things are coming together, I'm happy you share it all, so we can see also the not so pretty part of it.. 😉 You're doing great, tools do help a lot, but you can do much more with the most basic tools you have. I would say that you're holding the seam zipper in hand at 29:25, just grind a smidge off the pointy side, so you get a little wider flat end, make it blunt and pair it with a dolly that fits the best. Let's be honest, you very rarely need a pretty sharp end on the hammer for bodywork, because usually that's the dolly's job to keep sharp edges. For easier access, remove the door. I know, it's a rollercoaster with the doors on and off, but it's worth for ease of access. 😊
We're ready to see more, Keep on, no turning back.
To my knowledge you should always use rust preventative primer before applying seam sealer
Looks good! In the wheel well, use a fiberglass reinforced filler instead of seam sealer. You can smooth it out and you'll never know. I'd grind the welds a little more too.
Saludos!. Estás haciendo un excelente trabajo. Cuando se hace un trabajo así pasan muchas cosas que solo las sabe el que ha pasado por lo mismo. Hay que trabajar con los descuadre de piezas y del auto y estas venciendo los obstáculos.
I like,good job.👍
Looks cool a great car that is
Saludos de Monterrey
Amazing 😍❤
I admire your tenacity and ability to re-channel your frustrations. How does your back and knees hold up to all that though?😮
