Ferrari 328 review! The Ferrari 328 is a gorgeous old-school exotic car -- and a very special one, boasting V8 power, a gated manual transmission, and dramatic styling. Today Kennan and I are reviewing a Ferrari 328, and I'm going to show you all of its quirks and features. I'm also driving the 328, and we'll review the driving experience.

This feels oddly like a really good parody of a Doug review
Yeah. I don’t like the cohost format for this channel but if Doug is going to get a cohost at least get one that contrasts him. I have nothing against this guy but it’s kind of like watching two Dougs. Very strange.
Dude literally talks like Doug.
@@mattbaillargeon I feel like Doug wrote this script, and he's trying to read it exactly like Doug would. He'll find his own voice eventually I hope.
@@craigcampbell1843 I sort of agree, but I mean, I’m assuming this isn’t a permanent fixture, just as a one off thing, or maybe something every now and then. He just seems like he’s having some fun with his buddy and that’s completely fine
Reminds me of the parody called "Basically a Tom Scott video" .. now i can't wait for "Basically a Doug Demuro video/review" 🤔
If Doug thinks he can just transition to a new host slowly without anyone noticing, hes dead wrong lol. I smell a storm coming.
I thought something like that immediately. He did say his bud was a Ferrari expert. So maybe his presence is just coincidence. But I agree , Doug makes the vidz what they are👍
ain't that a slap on the nuts
Doug has some friends. Good ones who love cars. He has come into some money now and is enjoying his channel more now than ever. The garage videos and now this are proof he’s having tons of fun and experimenting. Doug’s not going anywhere. But he’s welcome to share the fun with his friends.
I agree, it’s fine for Doug to have some fun with his guests but they should just be guests (unless Doug gets more interesting friends). This particular guy has been making too many cameos and he’s terrible.
I quite liked this, having someone like minded to bounce off during the video was really good to watch. I love the enthusiasm
Love that Doug looks out for his friends, but this is giving substitute teacher vibes
Yep. This is awesome actually tho.
I don't like it
“You don’t gotta call me Mr. DeMuro, just call me Doug. Let’s have a pow-wow on the carpet, gang!”
Yeah it's like the script was written for Doug and spoken by an AI. I don't dislike the guy, but I'd like to see him with his own personality in his speaking parts.
@@garyofpennsylvaniaabsolutely right 👍🏽. I feel the same way
This is my favorite car, bar none. There's just something about it. It has perfect balance in my eyes - It's powerful but not a numbers car; pretty but muscular; old enough to be a sports car and not a supercar, but new enough to have some mechanical tech like 32 valves and proper injection. It's so great to see it here. I want an '88 or '89 so bad I could cry.
Well if you ever get one let’s just hope that you are not very tall. I remember falling in love with the 308 myself watching Magnum PI back in the 80’s but I also could not help but notice that they never put the top on and that Tom Selleck’s head stuck up several inches above the roof line. And since we are both about the same height I knew at once that if I ever owned a 308 or a 328 that I would never be able to drive it with the top on. Of course, today I would much prefer some of the newer models of Ferrari, which hopefully are designed with taller drivers in mind.
@@SLOBeachboy I'm only 5'-3", so the dream is alive. :)
Same here. Gorgeous vehicle.
I have one and am 6'2". I drive fine with top on. Apparently my height is more in the legs than torso. The leg room is actually pretty good with seat shifted back.
Nice to see Doug give his little brother a chance to share in his fame.
More like his clone
"Friend"
He must have binge-watched every video Doug has ever made 😅😅
kenan actually is very knowledgeable in cars. I bought my 79’ Weber carb Ferrari 308 GTS from him where he was working and we talked cars for over 2 hours. He is a real car enthusiast person. It’s actually the 308 pictured in this video. It’s been flawless to this day and I’m so happy that I bought it when I did. It’s been super reliable for me the last 5 years.
NO
I do love this guy's views on cars and I would watch him do his own opinion videos but for the reviews, I really want 100% Doug
Agree 👍🏼
Nice guy but he's no Tyler Hoover.
@@pk4459 tyler is annoying
I want 120% Doug honestly
@@pk4459 that's a plus I think. Hoovy has scummy car dealer vibes
I owned a 328 for 10yrs and it was fantastic. I drove it all the time and it never let me down. I even got caught in the snow once and the car perfomed better than most. When driving regularly they are very reliable. If I get another one it would be a GTB, the GTS has too much cowl shake. Thanks for the video, it brought back fond memories.
That's nice
I recently bought a GTS, my dream car when I was young. I am totally in love with this car.
@@majorp7967 Nice whip there
Doug's the kind of guy who doesn't understand why anyone would want a tiny smuggling compartment next to the passenger side back window in their Ferrari, in the 1980s.
Ken did a great job. He reviewed in Doug’s style, but I feel like Doug’s style is his and hearing another voice describe it in his manner is a little weird. I would prefer Doug do the reviews and add more talks with Ken, Hoovie, and others.
I feel like they're prepping us for when Doug wants to take a chill pill from youtube. I respect it.
@@androiduberalles when that happens I'll unsubscribe - this guy is not Doug.
That is true! No other guys in the reviews
Ken did honestly better!
He was speaking in full sentences and I didn't noticed any jump cuts. Something I'm annoyed by when Doug narrates.
@@Overhill yep. Not even Carwow can replicate that.

That helps with their speed by reducing render time
This is one of my favorite Ferrari models! This car is the main reason I watched Magnum P.I. as a child. Speaking of which, it's still mind boggling that Tom Selleck being 6'4" managed to pretzel himself into these things.
Interesting side note: The producers initially went to Porsche, and asked them to use the 928 as the star car for Magnum P.I. But they needed it to be a convertible or at least a targa because Hawaii. Porsche rejected this opportunity, and thus fame for the 328, failure for the 'other' -28.
They had to take the seat mounts off of the seat and mount the seat directly to the floor for him. That's how they created the extra space for him. Of course he never had the top on, so that helped too.
I think Magnum PI used the older Ferrari 308, not a 328. I do remember that he had to have the targa model with the roof always off because he was too tall to fit inside the coupes. Either way, if I lived in Hawai'i, I'd want a convertible too.
@@tenpoundburrito YES, definitely the 308. They changed models from the late 70s to the mid 80s as it progressed. Never used the 328.
One of the only reason's I watched Magnum PI, just to see the car, lol. Loved it and was my introduction to Ferrari as a 15yr teen in the 80's
The 328 is a beautiful classic Ferrari. I absolutely love the 80's vibe and it looks stunning from every angle. 😍
This does a nice job of illustrating how much taller Doug is than normal people.
Depending on the video, he's between 6'2" and 6'4".
I'm 6'6"... Eat it Doug!
@@bwofficial1776once I heard 6’ 3”….he apparently varies with temperature.
In my opinion, these Old School Ferraris (until 2003) are way cooler than these 2010s and 2020s Ferraris. Also, it's cool for Doug to let a friend participate on a car review
Amen. Modern Ferraris are wonders of technology and engineering -- and have no soul. Who gives a flip if shifts are measured in milliseconds when you're touring a B road with the top off? Give me a clutch pedal and hydraulic (or even better, manual) steering any day.
Sadly this applies to most modern cars. They're all technically advanced, yes; but they've also lost the distinctiveness of cars of pre 2000. You would never confuse a Mercedes with a BMW. Or a Ferrari with a Lamborghini.
As a Ferrari enthusiast I would agree, but..., with perhaps one exception being the 2013 458 Speciale, which is arguably the perfect Ferrari. I fell in love with Ferrari when I first saw one in person as a kid; my dentist owned a 308GTB. I was in awe when I approached it, and every day since then that car has been a love affair that my wife is fine with.
@@davel9130yea, because cars have souls 😂
@@Devogor Soul (noun): 1) "the spiritual or immaterial part of a human being or animal, regarded as immortal."; 2) "emotional or intellectual energy or intensity, especially as revealed in a work of art or an artistic performance."
Love you, Doug. Been a huge fan of your content for years. With the utmost respect, I wasn’t a fan of having someone else participate in your videos. Purely a piece of feedback for you to consider when making future videos
Exactly!!!!!! I hope he doesn’t bring this guy or any host again. We just want Doug!
Heck yeah!!! Finally a 328!! Doug gets to test drive a 328 for a living now I’m officially jealous
My guess as to the purpose of the gas flap is so you can rest the gas pump handle on the car without it scratching your paint, although it does seem to also provide some gas drip prevention as well.
Correct. It was also pretty common on lots of cars. My 77 Datsun has one.
I think the side window strakes unlocking and opening up is more than just symmetry. It seems like it was also so you could clean those windows. It's a lot easier to clean the outside of the window with the strake panel open than closed.
That is true. It’s super easy to clean them after each wash..
I was wondering if the fuel filler is on the right hand side on right hand drive cars, maybe? Your window cleaning comment makes more sense though.
yeah he said that
Doug's point was that the lock is for symmetry
The Ferrari 328 is an absolute gem of a car! 💎
like all the ferraris
great to see Doug do a 328 video. Ive owned one for going on 4 years now and while I only take it out once every 3 weeks or so it has been a very reliable car. Like many old Ferraris though I'm surprised he didn't hit on the wait till the temp is fully warm before shifting into 2nd gear. This car has plenty of torque so first to third is a non issue though.
Dougs the kinda guys to give love and support to his friends, so were the kinda people to give it right back. It's cool to see Kennan back, and even cooler he gets to give us a tour of something
back? was he here before?
@@vladvulcan dunno was he here, but hes been on the cars&bids channel a good bit.
Like when Mrs. Wizard reviews the interiors when the Car Wizard highlights a vehicle. Same vibe.
@@vladvulcanHe was in one video a couple weeks ago. One of the ones just discussing cars, not an actual review. The discussion are honestly just as entertaining.
My dad had one of these when I was a kid. Watched this video with a smile on my face the whole time.
Very cool car and it was fun to see Doug do a team-up with this review but I am still anxiously waiting for him to someday review the 288 GTO. I know they are extremely rare and worth millions but I feel like he'll have the opportunity one day. Next to the 355, I think the 288 GTO is the most beautiful of all Ferraris.
The 328 GTS is as gorgeous as Testarossa imo.
Yes, for me the 288 GTO is the ultimate Ferrari.
@@MultiWalrus1 I purchased a UK car magazine on the 288 GTO in very late 1984 when it had just been released !
That magazine is now a collector's item and sells for $ US200.
My mom accidentally threw it out . . . Nooo!
It gets even more weird.
Initialook I got called a liar at school as nobody believed Ferrari would make a turbo road car, yet alone a twin turbo V8. In Australia our school holidays are from mid-December to often tge first few days of February due to it being summer.
One honest guy, when school returned came up apologised and showed me pictures of him in a 288 GTO. He want to Italy in December '84 and obviously came back by February 1985. His uncle had purchased a 288 GTO ! ! !
NO one could believe it. He told us that it was the best experience in his life especially when his uncle let him drive it. Unfortunately, Australian road rules prohibited Left Hand Drive ( Lhd) cars and the luxury car taxes were brutal.
E,g. the Testarossa & Countach cost $AU500K OR $US380,000 by 1985.
Australian luxury car tax was 70 % of the sales price on a luxury car.
This guy was devastated as his dad wanted to import a Ferrari 288 GTO. They were comfortably middle class but not outright wealthy. They purchased a Ferrari 328 GTS as it was near impossible to obtain a 328 GTB in Oz.
NOTE - To date there are only about 5 or less Ferrari 328 GTB's that are RHD and they sell $US150,000 over a GTS model. I know as a close friend of mine tied to purchase one 9 years ago and the owner wouldn't budge on his $AU500k asking price. It was also a very rare blue with white interior model. Dohhhh . .. again.
Doug, this is a cool review to finally see! My uncle had one in this exact spec from brand new up here in Toronto. He used this, and his '87 Grand National to tour and win audio competitions all over the place, and they became famous cars in the car audio industry back when it was still a thing. It's definitely a car I'd love to get my hands on one day for the nostalgia. Great video as always!
Well there it is Doug’s got his ambitions set high. The Doug Demuro car review universe. I have a feeling we will start seeing new presenters as Doug transitions to just doing the cars he wants. Looking forward to the new talent.
He has said that he wishes he had a co host to riff off of.
I don't! Never change a running system!
Yeah this is a mistake!
Drug de Muro
No ... there not the same energy doug is way more fun to listen to ... sorry other guy
The power Ferrari was making with these small naturally aspirated engines in the smogged down eighties is incredible
I was just saying 270hp is not little for 3,2 Liters. BMW did 286 in the 90s out of 4 Liters and that was considered high.
Thanks Doug. Thanks for always staying consistent, honest, genuine, hard working, exciting, and real with all of your reviews!
As comforting as the original format is, i absolutely dig when Doug lets his hair down and has a bit of fun with a vid
2 friends enjoying an old Ferrari!! What a wonderful life!! 💯😊
Doug is the type of guy to go on a ride with Thomas Magnum in the Ferrari 328.
And point out all the quirks and features of his Hawaiian shirts
Nah. Doug probably knows Magnum drove a 308. The car before this. :)
The Red 328 GTS was in the Eddie Murphy movie “Beverly Hills Cop 2” from 1987. The 308 GTS on the other hand sounded a bit better and was on Magnum P.I and it’s like driving a Go-Cart faster Miata with a V8. It handles like it’s on rails. Much better looking obviously:) 🇮🇹
@Kathi Jordan you know there are three places on Oahu that rent Ferraris and not one of them has a 308?? Talk about a missed opportunity. Especially considering how much cheaper they are than modern ones. One lady said I was about the tenth person to ask for one and said she was going to look into getting one. One of them didn’t even know why I’d ask for that specific car! I couldn’t believe that. How do you live on Oahu and deal in Ferraris and not even know what Magnum drove?
This was the exotic car that I "imprinted" on, being a kid of the '80s, watching Magnum all the time. Just as when I first looked at it decades ago, I can't look at it too long. I can't soak in its lines or its color too much. It has a look that I have yet to tire of. I think it will always be this way with this car.
Kennan has the linguistics, cadence, and hand gestures of Doug down pat. Looking forward to Kennan getting his own channel called “Ferraris and Facts”
I have an '85 308 and I love it. It's one of, if not my favorite. It's so much fun to drive and experience. It's beautiful. It's easy to maintain. People love seeing it. Now I want to go drive it...
Lucky you. Take good care of it.
I don’t mind Kennan for the discussion videos but I prefer the reviews to be only Doug.
Such a cool car! The plastic flap under the fuel cap is mainly there so the handle of the fuel pump doesn't scratch the paint. I have one on my Porsche 944 as well for the same purpose. It doesn't work that well and so I have a load of scratches on the body panel underneath the fuel cap, but its better than nothing.
Great great vid, guys.
Start of a new era for the channel and … it works ✊
Growing up my dentist had one of these. Beautiful car and you’d occasionally see it parked outside his office on Saturdays when he was there catching up on his records.
And his staff were always resentful of it because he’d skimp on their salaries to buy exotics.
My dad had this car (the coupe) back in 87, I was 10. I remember going to an empty parking lot with a dusting of snow on the ground and doing donuts. So much fun!
Lucky 😫
Really like Doug's sidekick. Good energy between them. Enhances the review videos not that doug solo isn't great , this is a bonus . Keep it up!

Ope is Doug diving into delegation of his reviews? This man's a business man forsure.

Great review of a classic Ferrari, guys! Thanks for this one!
My dad had one of these back before I knew what a car even was and after seeing this video all the pictures of me standing next to it are so much cooler, great video
Great car. I have driven this actual one and it is pristine. Super fun to drive!
The keyed window louver on the right side is perhaps not only there for symmetry, but is it possible the fuel nozzle is on the right side in the foreign/European models? Just a thought.
Great job of Doug's friend, melting in well into the format of these reviews
The extended drive segment and associated conversation/commentary was a good addition. More of this please.
This is one beautiful car. Still looks modern. Love it!
Looks like the 80s what you talking about.

Finally! This is the car I wait for review for decade being subscribed on your channel. Your mission is accomplished now, congratulations!!! ❤🎉 🥳
I've been waiting for Doug to review a 328 for a long time. Nice!!
SADLY, I feel like this is a test video where Doug is trying to phase in somebody else to do reviews for cars being sold on the site....
That 348 with 360 wheels is looking fresh
Doug got the bag and now can do more content he enjoys with friends, I’m here for it
Hey Doug, long time fan here.
It feels like since you've gotten the Carrera GT, you've been having more fun, and it's nice to see! Kenan is a welcome addition to the show, although I hope you stay on as host. The two of you together would work, but I don't think we are ready to lose you.
Wish you all the best, all in all good video!
You FINALLY reviewed the most beautiful car(s) body styling there ever was!! Short of the 288 GTO, which is truly the #1.
Kennan, RE the climate buttons between the seats: you forgot that blue LEDs did not yet exist in the 1980s and wouldn't be developed for more than another decade, while red was the original (and plentiful). In order to do blue they would have had to filter some other color, which would have looked bad.
It was a pleasure meeting your friend. Clearly, he is passionate about the automotive industry. Thanks for the video.
No mention of Magnum P.I. ?!?
Saw the signs when they were driving and I live not too far from there. I hope I see Doug somewhere so I can say "hail to the king". : ) GREAT REVIEW like always!
I totally liked and enjoyed the video but I swear, Kernan's voice can put a person to sleep😅😅
I feel like this is the beginning of Doug transitioning some of the reviews to Kennan. I could be wrong but that’s the feeling I get. Will be interesting to see what happens with the channel now that Doug and C and B are so stable.
Maybe Doug's tired from working on another child
I really hope not. Nothing against Kennan, but I'm here for Doug. His personality is what this channel is about.
We’re never going to see Doug try to fit into a back seat that he won’t fit in ever again 😢
I think he just wants the dynamic of interacting with his friends. I think you'll start seeing Doug just doing more videos with other people in them.
@@AdamG1983 The more the review went on, it seems just as likely that Kennan will just be the Ferrari friend. I really like their conversation videos that have been posted lately but agree Doug is the reason most people watch.
They seem to be great friends with a shared interest. Glad I got to see the exchange with them and a cool car. Thanks Doug!
This is like Van Halen switching to Sammy Hagar. It is Doug or nothing for me.
I have this exact year and color combo 328 and think you guys did a great job reviewing it and conveying how special and fun it is to drive. What starts out a bit awkward and clunky at low speed becomes a spirited driving experience once the car gets into a stride. At higher speeds on country roads, it really is a grand tourer like the "GTS" in the model name suggests. On a sunny day at 60-70mph, it's just amazing, and it really doesn't get much better than this. I think the 328 hit a narrow late-80s window where some cars were still very very analog (not for long).
The reliability aspect makes the 328 a great entry level collector car for aspiring Ferrari enthusiasts. I put about 1000 miles a year on mine and it's never given me a lick of trouble. It's also very easy to work on and maintain. Values are still just barely affordable for normal folks, but are on the rise, so it's a decent investment if you need another reason to consider one.
Here's a tidbit about size -- the 328 has about the same wheelbase and width as a ND Miata, but is lower. It's longer at the nose by about a foot, but overall this car is smaller than a Miata! The thing is, in person, the striking looks give it far more presence and it seems bigger. It's not until you compare dimensions, get inside, and drive the 328 that it becomes apparent it's a really small car.
Great job Kennan! Can't be easy to step into such an established video format but imo it was pretty seamless 👍 almost uncanny how similar the commentary is
Great job Kennan! A future in car reviews could be for you!
Awesome car, this is the type of review I'm looking for on this channel.
I can't believe the 328 was considered "entry level" haha
Can you go back to saying individual doug score catagories please?
It’s interesting to see how the doors open from the inside in this particular model. I own an ‘89 and the door mechanism is built into the arm rest. Great review, as always!
I just love watching doug and his friend nerd over cars together
Holy shit there are a lot of bots in the comments.
Love the collaboration with Kennan! Awesome video as always!
Why? He's an awkward dork.
I remember seeing a blue 328 GTS near the Lodhi Garden area in New Delhi, India, last year. It was the first time I ever saw (and touched) a Ferrari, and it was one of the best moments in my life. What a lovely machine!
I feel like I’m watching the pilot episode of Doug’s channel going into a new phase and I’m excited for it!
I want Doug to have a cohost he can riff off of. It works wonders when he has Hoovie on.
Kennan copies Doug's cadence and speech quirks very well. I genuinely can't tell if he's reading from a script or not.
I own a 328 GTS. Owning a Ferrari is like dating a temperamental Italian super model who gets sick a lot and is always in a bad mood. But . . . when she feels good and wants to play, you have a great time!
Lots of bot comments on this, huh?

This is 100% Doug starting his exit from the channel by introducing the Robin to his Batman. Standby for Doug's 'retirement' now that he cashed in on all that Cars and Bids money. . . You read it here first.
I hope not but you’re probably right. Everything comes to an end eventually.
Thank you, Kennan!! I think you did a fantastic job 👌🏾

Great job, Kennan. Your delivery was 100% on point.
Disagree. It was weak and mumbled, with Doug cutting in on him talking about his 355 all the time. If I'd heard something actually interesting from him about the 3X8 lineage, I'd agree with you - Ferrari expert - really?
The 328 is commonly called the “Toyota” because it’s so reliable and well made, compared to other Ferrari’s it’s an easy car to own. My father had 1979 308 gtb that was incredible to drive, but had a lot of problems even with expert care. He then had a 1987 328 gtb (which got stolen) and then a 1989 328gtb which was an amazing car, and so reliable he drove it daily for 15 years (he lives in Arizona so it’s not like he had to store it for the winter). It never left him stranded, and he was able to do all the maintenance himself, except major engine work.
My absolute dream car - since forever. I have been waiting for this review from Doug for years so... le'ts grab a beer and enjoy it :-) Tnx, Doug!!
Not bad. I think Kenan will only get more and more comfortable and enthusiastic as he goes. We’ll done guys. I like how you work off of one another. Especially in the drive.
I clicked to see Doug explain cars not some other guy with no charisma
Masterful. Notice both are rockin'gthe makeshift kneepad for added comfort during low down bumper shots. It's good to see Daddy Doug schooling the new generation well
So happy to this. I had a 89 328 GTS I bought in 1990. Had so much fun !!
328 GTB is my favourite Ferrari.
Shame its now over $3 million.
Not even close, the price is about 5% of 3 million, assuming you're talking US dollars.
