Thanks so much. Worked on my old Precision 3530. I changed the BIOS setting from RAID to AHCI. The screen was different but I was able to find the setting and change it.

Hi there! Your method worked for me! Thanks so much. But what I noticed is, I can't have access to my Local drive anymore. It shows 'access denied'. The local drive also shows NSTF rather than my name. All my notification trays too are no more clickable.
Thats an unusual problem. Here is a tutorial from Microsoft that should help resolve the issue:

Pressed F2 upon starting it up with the Dell logo and it just turned black. Nothing opened or loaded. I even tried F12 for the boot options to run the BIOS setup and the diagnostics ... it all lead to a black screen. Complete darkness. Performance tests showed everything passed. Can you please provide any suggestions?
When I try to boot the laptop as usual, all I see is the Dell logo and error on top left saying BI InitializeLibrary failed 0xc0000185.
@@Vcastnova I fix that often works with this error is to reinstall Windows.

@EggheadFixers thanks for the info! Is there a way to access my files from the desktop before having to reinstall the OS and reformat the C drive, thereby losing all my data? I can't get past the Dell logo but figure there is a way to retrieve the info saved before doing the step above as mentioned.

That unfortunately happens sometimes. What happened when you ran the diagnostic? Did all your hardware pass?

@@pramodh4874 If all the hardware passed the diagnostic then the next step would be to try reinstalling the operating system. Usually, this is caused by a problem with the operating system. Here are videos on how to do that:

How about when a Dell Motherboard is replaced on a No Power PC so disabling or suspending Bitlocker isn't an option - and bitlocker is enabled - after mobo swap - type in Bitlocker key - inaccessible boot device both Windows 10/11. Go in change all boot settings even used default bios settings - no Windows boot. 9/10 times blue screen inaccessible boot device. Even when diagnostics passed ssd shown in bios.. Any ideas? I am a warranty tech for Dell and have not found a solution. IT depts don't care but end users it matters. Actually it matters to me period as I have no answers. Only option I receive is to inform eu to reinstall OS.. Thanks and hope to hear back. Nice video btw
Ya this was a problem for me when I was doing Dell Warranty repairs. Unfortunately, they have not come up with a real solution. I always ended up having to reinstall the operating system which stinks for the user because they lose all their data.

@@donnieburton362 It's really the users that get hit hard by it. I've known people to lose homework assignments or work. It's a real problem. Too bad they have not resolved it.

@@victoriajoy1032 This error is usually caused by a hardware or driver issue. If you run the built in Dell diagnostic you see in the video does everything pass? Or does some of your hardware fail?
