- In Celebration of the International Chihuahua Appreciation Day, In this story we take a closer look at one of the most endearing pocket-sized canine friends south of the border, how they got their name, and where they very possibly could have come from.
I adore chihuahuas and have been blessed to have had several over the years. They are so dear and devoted, always cuddly and sticking to me like glue. They like warmth and in temperatures below 70* they wear light sweaters or the tops of my old socks cut off below the ankle and “arm holes” cut out for their front legs. The most darling was a 3 1/2 Lb. Long haired whited sweetie who lived 16 years. Such wonderful, loving, sweet companions! God said, people who need extra love, here are chihuahuas.
❤❤❤ They are just so dang special. 🤗
Wow from China! Fab Chi history we didn't know!
I remember reading somewhere that chihuahuas actually descended from Fennec foxes. Having seen one at the Omaha Zoo, i can believe it. It lloked just like one of our beloved chihuahuas!
