Forget Drunk History, we have Drunk Rocket Design
Scott and Amy, it's like yoda and Luke, more of this videos please
it's more like if Luke and Yoda is REALLY DRUNK
who is Yoda in that metaphor
Yoda is obviously Scott.
Since he actually knows what he is talking about and the details that go behind it as well as the science.
While Vintage space girl is a glorified story teller. Sorry.
@@AG.Floats a space pinup girl
She holds degrees in history and science...I think you're selling her short.
Saw Scott Manley and came running, glad I found this!
like watching a cross over episode! lol

They say great persons don't see themselves as better than others, and this Von Braun anecdote supports that notion: At a very quiet Tuscaloosa, AL airport terminal in 1967 I found myself standing next to another person, also standing alone, waiting to meet persons arriving on the same Southern Airways flight as I. I recognized him as Werner Von Braun! Being a college sophomore who had recently earned a Commercial pilot's license, I introduced myself and we engaged in a 20-minute conversation, mostly about airplanes. What was fascinating was how totally focused on me he was, as if I were the only other person in the world! He was delighting in teaching me interesting facts (one I recall being about the wing of the amazing new F-4 Phantom fighter). What a genuine, nice man!
I have another funny anecdote for you: the bodies of workers who didnt work fast enough were hanged on the ceiling of von braun factory..
You guys should try and do the Russian N-1 Moon Rocket
Yes!! This would be a good one!
Charles Butterworth ...This, please.
And/or one of the later Energia mods that would have come after Buran's Energia.
Then there's A-9, A-10, et al.
Yes!
N1! N1! N1! N1! :D
There's a Soviet rocketry mod for KSP which actually adds all the parts, I've seen a few videos of people building them and carrying out the planned mission.
Of course, my first instinct was to strap four of them together with bracing struts.
Hello it's Scott manly
And your reading this in my voice
Jack Hamerly I so was too 😄
Jack Hamerly I just learned that not all people do subvocalization. If you don't Google it immediately.
*Hullo
Omg my two favourite space CZcamsrs! O:
Weasel Level Design Yay!
***** Haha hi! :)
Omg my two favourite space fanatics in one place! 🙂
Fun fact about the N1: When developing the NK33, they kept dealing with combustion chamber instability (stuff blowing up) since it was essentially the first real closed-cycled engine. They wasted a lot of money this way, because they didn't perfect the technology in the testing facility, but they exploded a couple of rockets instead. When they finally did a test launch during which the N1 didn't explode, the USSR had lost interest and the N1 program was discontinued.
This is also why more than 20 years later, those old engines were discovered in some storage facility and they were more advanced than anything that NASA had. Also, some N1 shells were used as stables after the program had been aborted.

Your collaboration with Scott Manley was most enjoyable! Thanks! It was about time you two got together to produce an entertaining, and "educational' video of space exploration. Amazing how art and science can combine to give a possible solution for earth's problems. Let's hope the next president has the vision to see that these two disciplines are valuable enough to fund for the future of the human race.
Glad to have been apart of this Kerbaltastic endeavor.
I like listening to Amy tell stories off the cuff. She really has passion!
My two Favorite people playing my favorite game. AAAAHHHH!!!!
Very enjoyable video. Watched Scott for a long time now and both your channels work well together. Well done guys.
Drunk Amy is super-adorable and still smarter than anyone I know in real life :p
You are looking at the pictures.. but there was an entire tv series dedicated to it and it shows the layout of the rocket.
There are different versions of this system, and the Disney show I think you're thinking of shows a slightly different version if memory serves. We picked the earlier one.
Ah okay, that's why. Loving the video ;)
Yup Blowed up, Blowed up Real Good. To quote a SCTV skit. :)
That's right Billy Sol. That spaceship done blowed up Reeaal gud.
AlmostNASA The one and only ;)
Scott Manley is awesome!! Scott Manley+Vintage Space=enjoy!
How are they not dead
"SCIENCE"
Scott Manley
Oh dear god I've wanted to see this for a long time
Two of my favorite CZcams people in a video together!
We all love Jeb, Amy
Although Special Agent Kerrim has a soft spot in my heart too!
The collab that you wouldn't be able to think of but works amazingly
Scott makes me so happy. I'm so glad that this video happened...
Very cool collaboration! Thanks guys!
Ok wow, I been Vintage Space nerd for ages and I found SCOTT MANLEY ( you know in my head I am hearing just like SCOTT MANLEY says it), found him this morning, so I have been waiting for ages for these 2 to get together.
I love that vintage look...and I ain't talking about the rocket.
You two together... so great!!! Yes please.
I'm grinning like Jeb! You two rock.. et!
The most ambitious crossover of our time. Also, now I need to go re-read Scott Crosfield's autobiography (it's a MUST-READ if you're an engineer).
the kerbles stuff is what it is. please don't let vintage space become all about a video game. I love the real history you talk about.
Amy&Scott
MORE OF THIS!!!!
Great Kerbel. Thanks guys.
I have been waiting so long for this collab.
I absolutely love this collab. Hearing the two of you totally nerd out about space program details and stories is really great!
Whiskey, Beer, and Rockets! Sounds like a night out with Jack Parsons
I am learning so much with this video! Many thanks Amy and Scott!!!!
yes there you go,chillin with scott-this guy is the BEST in IMO at Ksp
My two favourite spaceniks in the one podcast! Love you both. Cheers!
Whenever I hear those Crossfield stories, I always hearken back to the early 80s documentary "An American Adventure: The Rocket Pilots". So many great stories from Crossfield, Yeager, etc.
This is cool seeing some of favorite space working together..
Cool collaboration and and a fun episode to watch. Amy you know all the history and Scott is a Kerbal master.
2 of the coolest people together!
i love Scott Manley! im super happy you two are doing videos together!
AWESOME collaboration - my two favorite spacetubers playing my favorite game! :D Thanks Amy + Scott!!!
It was nice to see you in your element with another complete vintage space nerd. For being a little tipsy you managed to stay on topic/point,vary well.
you both were having just the best time. I also learned a lot about Kerbal space.
Scotty is obviously grand master at using the program amazing!.
That was VERY cool to watch. Looks like it was a lot of fun!
Amy+Scott=space galore
Absolutely amazing episode!
INSTANT CLASSIC! It should be repeated again and again!
That's awesome!!!
It's absolutely amazing that this design made it to the end. lol
That was fun! You guys should do this more often: Rebuild vintage spacecraft while getting drunk!
You two are so funny together! You should (both) do this kinda thing more often. I _totally_ love _both_ of your love(s) and respect(s) _and knowledges_ for the Saturn V Rocket and the 60's Space era in general. But _especially_ the Saturn V! What a grand o'l spaceship she was! She *_NEVER_* shoulda been mothballed, shelled, retired or _what-ever!!_ I always vision all the potential she coulda had if they simply kept refurbishing and upgrading her to this day. wow!! Can you imagine w/ today's tech? :)
Good old unsymmetrical dimethyl hydrazine and nitrogen tetroxide, the hypergolic nightmare fuel for the Titan II’s I worked around 50 years ago. At least you can always be sure the candle will light when you push the button. It was always a little creepy going out to the launch tube to do maintenance, knowing all that fuel and oxidizer was just a small thickness of aluminum away from you, not to mention the biggest thermonuclear warhead in our arsenal.
Enjoyed this one a lot! Thank you guys.
This was a great video! MOAR!! You and Scott have great chemistry.
You two should do a series recreating missions that never happened
this is so awesome! Please do more!
Me: "No way I'm going to watch a 30 minute video!"
Me 29 minutes later: "What was damn entertaining!"
Yay, do much, much more with him ( space vids that is 😮 ) awesome. 😃
This is awesome YOU GUYS *ROCK!*
This is great.... Thanx guys!
Two of my favorite rocket people, yay.
Love watching you two nerd out together.
The banter between these two is great! :)
Drunk Amy is literally the funniest thing I've seen all day.
This really needs to be a whole series. 10/10, would thumbs-up again! :)
something different... Awesome and very interesting to watch and listen to!
its amazing that the kerbals survived so many crashes...
have you done a video about Scott Crossfield taxying through a wall? Because I didn't know about that until you mentioned it in this video.
I think I blogged it but it was lost when my site was hacked... Let me look for it, and if not I'll repost it to the new/old site. I thought I had to be honest!
cool! I look forward to it!
Chuck Yeager talks about this in his first autobiography, and accuses Crossfield of not bothering to study the aircraft. Apparently Yeager had planned to check him out in the systems and Scotty declined and said that he only needed to have a manual. Yeager remarked "Well, you look at a guy like that and say 'See you around'."
Later, Crossfield lost utility pressure and crashed through a hangar wall. Yeager said that if he had bothered to learn about the systems, he would have known how to deal with the failure.
I can't believe how entertaining that was.
I remember the Disney show. I also remember a Life Magazine devoted to Von Braun's concept, It was featured on the far right side of a timeline that featured prehistoric life forms dinosaurs, etc. on the far left side of the illustration. Disney was great for understandable science lessons. The lesson on chain reactions using mousetraps and ping-pong balls was chilling especially for me growing up in a north NJ suburb of NYC. We all knew NYC would be ground zero.
I could watch this all day.
Liked and linked. Knew you both as favorite posters before I went here. Fun!
I've waited for this pair. Awesome :)
Dude yes, you and Scott Manley in the same video!
That was the most fun I've had on CZcams in years!
No way! Scott Manly AND Amy? Vintage Space with KSP :0 who thought of this! This is awesome :D
Space Knowledge Stuff .... Scott summing up Amy better than most people can ...
awesome awesome awesome. 2 of my favourite space people!!!
She knows so much, im really impressed
This was very interesting. If you do this again, I think a space shuttle type of vehicle capable of reaching lunar orbit would be fun. You could have a reusable lunar lander stowed in the cargo bay so aerodynamics wouldn't be an issue for that. Please keep these coming.
angc214 This video was about a space shuttle style main vehicle. According to von Braun, his plan was to use such a spaceplane vehicle as the lunar lander and Earth return vehicle. So not a small lander in the cargo bay, but an actual space shuttle landing on the Moon.
Awesome! I've been hoping for this for so long!
I might as well say the same thing twice. Best. Collab. Ever.
That was different and fun!!!
I thought I'd never see the day! This is a crazy mash up and I love it :D
My two favourite tubers together at last!
Okay, this is the best collab ever!
Loved this collab. I can tell that you and Mr. Manley would both be utterly delightful drinking companions. You play a convincing tipsy historian to Scott's mad rocket scientist. ;)
I do hope that you continue to collaborate when your schedules allow.
Kerbalnauts everywhere thank you for this one! Now reenact the Curiosity mission!
My two favourite space channels teaming up!
2 universes just collided in this video!
You. Guys rock....
I would absolutely LOVE watching you guys build, lanch and talk about the Dyna-Soar project. There are already a bunch of parts available in order to build a Titan IIIC and I'm sure Scott could whip together some part for a good Dyna-Soar replica.
IVE BEEN WAITING SO LONG FOR THIS
Never heard of Vintage Space, but I'll stay now! ;)
Amy does a great Kerbal impression.
Amy and Scott in one video, playing von Brown in KSP,.. you just made my day! :)
