Unfortunately there is no proper mSATA in the E6440. There are 2 half size mini PCI Express slots, one for the Wi-Fi, other for the 3G modem. The only chance for SSD is to put it in the 2,5" slot, and put the HDD in the place of DVD-burner.
I got mine today, I was very disappointed with the display, bad viewing angle, thought being a premium laptop and all it would have a good display. Specs: i7-4600M 16GB Radeon 8690 1 TB Hybrid HDD I'm having trouble installing xubuntu 14.04 on it, the installation boots to a blank screen, installed crunchbang wheezy on it for now, will try to install xubuntu in the next couple of weeks. Yes, there is a mSATA slot. There are actually three mPCIe slots of which the third one isn't shown in the video. It's above the WWAN (3G) slot and is the mSATA slot. It's accessible by removing the left back cover plate. See tiny.cc/E6440 for much more info.

Technically, yes. You can plug in an external graphics card into the mini PCI port on the laptop. You'd have to buy an adapter, but its worth it.
