    Nice buggy, but as a basher I would take take the Typhon TLR for the higher power system and 7075 aluminum parts.

      @DoRC  Před 19 dny +10

      I can definitely understand the 7075 parts as they are really nice on the TLR but I'm becoming less and less convinced that 6s is necessary on these buggies. This 4s system is as much power as I ever think I would need on this buggy.

    I wasn't stoked on the bashing at first I was thinking "this ain't bashing" lol but it got better after hitting the ramps, now get it out there & bash it on dirt, concrete & see how it holds up? "Insert a rich duperbash or rcdude81 vid here!" I would say it's more of a race buggy than bash where the TLR Typhon is more bash than race,but anything can be bashed! Anyway really good break down & explanation of everything & great vid,will definitely be watching to see what more you do with it!🤙🏼🇺🇸🇺🇸

I plan to run mine on our outdoor track and the backyard for a bit of jumping. I don’t bash hard. And always liked Losi buggies they handle and drive great.

    I've been waiting for this one! Thanks for the review, I've been waiting to see how the Losi 8IGHT-XE holds up to bashing. Looks like it handles very well and jumps very well. Durability can always be improved, but good handling is often limited to the platform. Definitely a huge con that the motor and ESC are soldered together, cutting them voids the 2 year warranty.

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Před 19 dny +1

      Yeah that's the race car way though. I do understand why they did it. And this thing definitely handles really well out of the box. Even on the slick wet grass I was speed running on it barely needed any correction to stay straight and turned well.

    Awesome video as always.. That ramp you have out bashing sure has a really short and sharply rising ramp... I was wondering that must place some stress on the chassis as its almost like hitting a wall at those high speeds.. Looks like a fantastic buggy..

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Před 19 dny +2

      Yes the ramp very steep and puts a lot of stress on the vehicles. The area in which I'm bashing is very small so I need to have that angle to not end up in the neighbor's yard :-) It's also good for testing as it does put a lot of stress on things and I've actually broken a couple of cars just hitting the ramp.

    I’m going to get this today, my yard tracks so treacherous though , and the Arrmas really are better , I can beat em up over and over , rain mud ect , than I have rcs I spend time even Arrmas I just keep away from dirt or wait for nice weather and time to groom a track or go to the park . You have to see the Arrmas I run daily to understand lol , but I forget how many hours I actually do have on the TLR typhon before it got past point no return , needs rear diff all hinge pin braces could be arms too axle pins everything 😂, I figure I wait for them to go on sale and I just keep it going , even the kuran motor I have to change the bearings or get couple new ones . Far as longevity and performance I’d probably been better off with Losi , but it’s time consuming and expensive while Arrmas cheap bigger “ and easy to work on . They’re all awesome 👏

      Yeah they definitely both have their advantages and disadvantages and long-term use is not something I am super experienced with simply because I have a lot of vehicles so none of them get that much usage. I sometimes just drive and do jumps/flips etc without wings as they occasionally imo have increased the dage to car when crashes occur. Not always but occasionally imo. That also depends on the surface you land on. Do tghe wings even increase the downforce on vehicle when driving under 60 mph? I have my doubts, but idk. They do look cool tho. I always enjoy your content and have benefited from your advice repeatedly. TY kindly for that. I recommend to consider possibly buying a strong magnet or perhaps a metal detector to sweep your lawn with, to find missing parts (dogbones/pins etc) It has paid for itself tenfold for me. Great video. Happy trails.

      Generally speaking no the wing doesn't really do much of anything. Maybe in racing conditions it has a small effect but for the most part it's just for show. I've taken the wing off of a lot of my vehicles. I used to always add a front bumper to the rear of my outcasts

    How did that 6s ESC fit in there? How did the 6s battery fit in there? My friend is having me convert his to 6s. He tried to have someone else do it and they did a hack job. They used his Talion 6s motor and ESC and the ESC is too big and hits the body and the servo arm is hitting the ESC. I tried to talk him out of making it a 6s car but that’s what he wants to do. What battery were you using exactly? Thanks.

    • @DoRC

      ESC fit fine once I removed the little bracket on the mounting plate. A standard 6S battery isn't going to fit under the body. I used a fairly short 4000 mAh 6s battery and it touched the body but was okay. You might be better off using two 3S low profile batteries as the battery tray is pretty long.

I even made a mock up battery out of cardboard to see the max battery I could get in there and NONE of the 6s batteries I could find are gonna fit. The only shorty 3s batteries I can find that will fit are 4300mah batteries. I think I’m going to have modify the battery tray or put a all together differemt battery tray in it so I can mount a battery all the way down to the chassis and that will give me the option of a 48-50mm tall battery. How was the run time with that 4000mah 6s battery you used? Can you tell me the exact battery you used Tao I can look it up and check out its dimensions. I could use the help. @DoRC  Před 2 dny +2

      @@joshuajkoplin 4300 might not be too bad. A 4,300 6s battery in a fairly light buggy like that should give you pretty decent run time. But yeah it's one of the inherent issues with buggies. This body actually is a little bit more forgiving than some of them out there but they all are seriously limited in battery height. You could try just removing the battery tray entirely and figuring out some way to mount the battery directly to the chassis. Again the battery I used isn't going to help you because it technically didn't fit. It was rubbing on the body really badly. Was a 4,000 mAh battery and I didn't exactly time run time but it felt reasonable.
