This was by far the best chicken and biscuit recipe!!! I've made a lot of chicken pot pies/chicken and dumplings ect! This was tops!! What I did differently was leave the celery out, used a rotisserie chicken, cream instead of the milk, and halved the biscuits recipe. Still made a lot of smaller biscuits!! Thank you!!!

Scott really this recipe is not that unhealthy. Lean chicken breast, veggies, ... So you change out whole milk to 2%or fat free. Boil chicken and veggies instead of sauteed. Don't use butter use a butter substitute( even though they aren't really any healthier). Top with biscuits. Bake. Really most any recipe can be adapted. Your cardio sounds like a wet noodle. People need some joy in their life!! Just curious how or why would the cardio have known about this recipe?
My mom used to make a dish like this when I was a kid. She used Bisquick for the biscuits though. It was one of my favorite meals. I will definitely be making it ! Thanks for the recipe !
I just (11/15/20) made this and it was so GOOD! I also added a can of Cream of Chicken for more flavor & used biscuits in a can! You are an awesome cook!❤
I’m about to use bisquick for the top and I added just a little bit of chicken flavored bouillon powder for extra chicken flavor. I eased back on the salt since bouillon has plenty already.

My wife who is a great cook makes something like this, cheese dumplings instead of biscuits. One of our favorite dishes. I want to give your recipe a try....looks great!
I've wanted to make this for a while a tonight was the night. OMG! So delicious, it was a huge success as all of your recipes I've tried have been! I made a little alteration. When the pan was very hot i sauteed some mushrooms and a tiny chunk of bacon cut into little bits. Then i fished them out of the pan and added them back in with the peas. For me a creamy chicken gravy just needs some mushrooms and the bacon was just because it was there in the fridge and needed to be used. I had to put a cookie sheet under the pan because i think mine is a little smaller than yours and it was bubbling over. Oh, and my country doesn't have buttermilk so i used some milk kefir which I saw somewhere else was a good substitute and it worked well. I got 10 dumplings and the meal was so beautiful when I put it on the table. Everyone was like ooh and ahh and then we tasted it and everyone was like MMM mmmm omg! Mmmmmm!

Cast iron pans are a must got to have them everything from grilled cheese sandwiches pancakes spaghetti sauce you name it they are the thing lost my mom's one it was well seasoned
Wonderful ! I use to make something very similar for my kids when we would go camping. Cooked in a cast iron dutch over a fire. We used real heavy cream, less broth and a can of cream of chicken soup. My kids LOVED it. Thanks for the memories !

What an appetizing chicken dish I've never seen yet it seems familiar and comforting. To me, it looks like it brings together the wonderful flavors and textures of chicken and dumplings, chicken pot pie, and southern biscuits and gravy. I'm going to the grocery store now to make it when I return home. Since, to my taste, low sodium products all have a bitter aftertaste, I'll be using regular broth.

Try plain Greek yogurt for the dough. You'll like it. My family has a stove top recipe that is almost the same except you boil the liquid and drop biscuit dough in small amounts. We call it chicken and dumplings
I made this and it is so good. I used the broth but added a tablespoon and a half of chicken bouillon. I didn’t add any extra salt because of the bouillon. 😋super fantastic.

I like to use left over vegetables from the fridge - and I cheat by topping with Grands brand biscuits. But either way - homemade or canned - the end result is delicious. I make this with a roasted chicken from Costco, take the meat off the bone and cube or shred it, I always have homemade broth in the freezer that I made with the bones from a previously purchased roasted chicken, I just add onion, celery, carrot, garlic, and peppercorns and cook it in a slow cooker overnight. My husband doesn't like vegetables in it so it's just gravy, chicken, and biscuits on top.
I saw this video and immediately ran to the store for ingredients. It looked so tasty! This is the BEST chicken and biscuit recipe I've tried. My husband even made a comment and said it was full of flavor and not bland like the last couple of recipes we've tried haha. Saving this video for the next time we crave a delicious and hearty meal.

I made this today for Sunday dinner. Easy to make (I used my Dutch oven) and it came out perfectly!! And of course, delicious! Another hit!!!
Just bought a 5qt Dutch oven but my cast iron skillet was the same size as the one in the video so I went with that. It’s in the oven now.
