#DidYouKnow: For a long time, people believed atoms were the fundamental "uncuttable" unit of matter. While atoms are the building blocks of elements, that can be divided into still smaller particles. Also, nuclear fission and nuclear decay can break atoms into smaller atoms.

No I didn't know thanks for the valuable information
thank u!
Got a question now, why use Carbon 12 as standard? How do you know it's mass??
Why is Carbon-12 chosen as a standard?
What is its importance and significance in Chemistry?
Good teaching, beautiful explanation really helpful, keep doing more videos
Your video should get 1 mole views
Man you are weird đ
@@victornyami5455 What made you come to that conclusion? Also How do you define weird? And another thing, Weirdness is subjective. I find you weird judging others by a comment that's completely normal and is infact very well related to the video.
@@jvplaster this man went Aristole mode
@@acsysin fr fr
Weird what's mole
But how was carbon 12 measured?
The explanation was perfect!
We got to know that mass of atoms are measured relatively to mass of carbon-12 atom
But my question is:
How did we measure the mass of a single atom of carbon-12
Iju
We didn't,
We took the mass of carbon 12 atom as 12 ' 'units' or amu or these days the IUPAC calls it only u(unified mass)
@@muktatelang587 but we can get the actual mass of one atom?let me tell u
let that we take 14 g of nitrogen
acc to mole concept
no. of atoms/ions/molecules=given mass/molar mass x Avogadro constant,,right?
so,--atoms present in 14 g of nitrogen =14g/14g x avogadro no.
---so it means that 14 g of N has 6.022x10 >23 atoms,,,,if 6.022x10>23 atoms weighs 14g,,then mass of one atom qould be 6.022x10>23/14??am i right? :))))
That is what I want to know since ages
same question

Wait but how does someone go about finding one single carbon-12? How did the original dudes know how much atoms they were weighing? Literally how was this done??? I need to know!!!
