I have been following Chris for years, and I donated to his Indiegogo for him to be able to put this album out. This video in particular took them 11 months from start to finish, and what Thomas says at the end is insightful. That was the 7th of 9 takes Thomas did to get it right, cuz there’s no snap to grid or video editing multiple takes together.
I just starting to watch Thomas Lang as well, his feet are crazy, he the best with doubles and triples. Not always into his music but his drumming is worth it. His song Time is crazy to watch his left hand and feet play poly rhythms
Chris has a lot of playthrougs on YT, all of them are enjoyable and most of them are sick as hell. He's mainly known for his playing in Oceans Ate Alaska. Besides that, I think you'll enjoy checking out Baard Kolstad and Leprous. Why? - They're from Norway - He's one of the most talented and musical drummers out there - On "Contaminate Me" ( czcams.com/video/78-vJwCVJvk/video.html ) you get to see two drummers playing together live, and it's not light on double bass parts - There's a Special Guest on stage for this song, I think you might have heard of him ... his name spelled backwards is Nhashi and as far as i remember, he used to play in a quite influential Black Metal band back in the day ;) - Ihsahn is also the brother in law of the Leprous singer, Einar. Keep up the great work! Cheers from Germany
This song is crazy since it shows a blend of 2. But it doesn't really showcase chris talent. Maybe do his song 40 roll or some of his other from his solo album. Or even the video he did with the first double bass pedal made
you should definitely react to gojira- art of dying bro!!! not djent but mario and the rest of the band are probably some of the best artists out there :)
I'd have an instrumental djent band from brazil for you with a beautiful video (dark grey coast rocks) and even some latin dance influence: Vitalism - Pagan Part II
Now listen to his other track Chris Turner - 40 Roll
