Wow, that is some outstanding work! Saw a set recently where the sculptor used tissue paper soaked in glue to make bed sheets, which would work fine for curtains also. Outstanding, having that set in a house would make me want to play D&D every day.
This is beyond amazing! I've run Keep several times. I thought I was cool when I used a projector and displayed the map(s) on the table. This is far and away cooler than anything I did! Bravo!
Brings back memories of when I explored the keep. We used a data projector to shine the map down on the table, which worked well. This is very cool though.
For the curtains you can really just cut up an old T-shirt and glue it onto a frame made with popsicle sticks. A bit of paint, and if you scrunch it up a bit it'll look kinda rough, especially if you use a sealant of some kind afterwards. Made some cloth sacks like that and used dental floss to tie the top closed. I mean, I know that's not a Dwarven Forge product, but it could be a useful idea to someone. As for the layout itself, wow. Just looking at it brings back memories. So many bits and pieces, all in the right places, I can practically see the room descriptions in the book.I vaguely remember those runes being Fear runes, in the maze. At least, the original description is. The Kruthik nest! So many good memories, I love it. A friend sent me here, I'm glad he did.
Man I just can't get over the Beautiful terrain!!!! You can easily make curtains from plastic soda bottles. Just cut out strips and then use a heat gun to make it soft then make it wavy a half inch to 3/4 width and it will stand by it self. Then just paint it or if you want to get fancy print out pictures or patterns you like and glue it to it. Again LOVE the set up:)
what I like to do is "give" the heroes a partial (paper) map of the dungeon, and lay that out because they would know those exist, then before the end of that session they find the other "half" so I can lay it out (minus secret rooms and doors) for the next time we play because it takes a long time to lay it out "as they go". Like the old "you find a dead hero and find the map on his body" trick
holy shit, my curiosity for playing this DyD games now is overkilling afther seeing such a badass dungeon board 0_o!!!!!, its like if they could be a group of 12 evil characters vs 12 heroes and the main one telling a damn good story
BEAUTIFUL dungeon!!!!! My hirst arts dungeon is kinda beat up and needs some painting love but you did a GREAT job of reproducing the map! NICE job Buddy!!!!!
I know this sounds crazy, but do you have a list of every amount of piece that was used in the making of the keep? Did you custom make this in their map editor or just buy a ton of kits?
Wow, great job! how did you get some of the pieces in the dungeon, like in particular the secret treasure room, like all that stuff in there is pretty sweet i want it.
I don't understand how gms do this when the players can see everything on the board. there are no suprises, no fog of war effects. a 'secret treasure room' is no longer secret.
Lol. Yes, you do pay for the high quality of dwarven forge. You should be aware that dwarven forge is doing a kickstarter right now that will allow you to get their terrain much more cheaply! Google "kickstarter and dwarven forge" to get the link.
sven wever no it's a game set with a back story with 2 type of people 1 the player 2 the dm the dm is the story teller the player are charters the game is DnD it was the thing back In the day my family still plays I to this day you should try it some time

I'd love to see somebody construct a D&D dungeon like that out of LEGO

Goodness gracious - just outstanding.

If you have further problems let me know. I have been solving terrain problems for years:)

It even has lighting, lol...too cool.
Sure. I ordered them from a guy named "Yansolo". He sometimes offers terrain on e-bay. He also periodically posts on the Dwarven Forge forums.
Wonderful to watch , thanks so much
Thanks for watching!

That looks absolutely amazing that I know it wasn't cheap
Oh lord this rocks. Just running this now ourselves!
Very well done, best match I've seen.
You, sir, are my hero!

Looks like it was a great setup!

Very nice.I will be doing my set up with dwarven forge in a few months and I'll post a video when I do.
I cover the unexplored regions with black cloth and unveil the dungeon as they explor it.
HOLY CRAP!!! Nice!!!
Unreal!!
And were proud of it!
Awesome!!
Thanks!
Awesome.
very cool indeed

:) Thank you!
Nice! I don't even play D&D anymore, but I want this setup just for collection :P
I coudn't make out where you said you ordered the torches from. Can you help me out? Those are awesome.
Holy shit..... Your game setup.... Wow.
Epic
You can get dwarven forge terrain cheaply via their kickstarter, if you are interested. Google "kickstarter and dwarven forge."
Unfortunately, I do not recall. 10 perhaps?
wow epic

I wish I had enough dwarven forge scifi sets to make a starship layout like this for starwars rpg.
great set up, where did you get the torches?
How much did ALL of this cost you, and I'm curious if you still have this?
Where did you get them DM screens?
When you play, do the players see the entire dungeon, or do you somehow cover up unexplored regions?
No curtains? What is this day one shit. jk That is crazy sweet.
how much would this cost? :O
Hey, are you a photographer. I think I came across your site.
How many money did you spend in all of this till now?
About 10 or so, I think.
Holy crow. Luckiest group of players EVER!
I don't understand how gms do this when the players can see everything on the board. there are no suprises, no fog of war effects. a 'secret treasure room' is no longer secret.
Huzzah
Shit! did you actually make this?
Check out ambientrealms for surround sound elements for RPG and Board games for Free!

I dont get it really.. Is this a kind of game or something? Or just like model trains?
sven wever it's Dungeon and Dragons or Pathfinder, they are the 2 main fantasy roleplay game. Search for it.
sven wever no it's a game set with a back story with 2 type of people 1 the player 2 the dm the dm is the story teller the player are charters
the game is DnD it was the thing back In the day my family still plays I to this day you should try it some time
Make your own and relish in the joy of accomplishment. Buying tons of forge is well just meh.
Technically by working his job...he made them himself?
welll if you ansr this HFC agen move nare me pleesssss
Shame that I'm neither rich, nor do I live in the USA. :(
You don’t need to be rich to have a bit of dwarven forge
